bayba792 0 Posted January 20, 2010 I had the same problem I had my surgery on 11/20/09 6 days before Thanksgiving and I was fine but on Thanksgiving day I was itching like crazy, and the next day it was worse and it got red and puffy around each incision site, so I took the tape off all of them and put hydrocortisone cream around them and that helped. Well turns out I had a allergic reaction to the tape that they used. it went away in a couple of days.
TracyNYC 4 Posted January 20, 2010 I covered mine with a dry wash cloth and kind of tapped/rubbed at it to help the itch. I had only one incision in my Belly Button, but I wanted to get in there and scratch like hell after a few days.
corinne211 0 Posted January 21, 2010 Any itching I had was from the Pain killers I got thru IV in the hospital. I was itching for days. Then also once the Heprin starts leaving your system you itch. They the pain killers you take home leave your system you itch. Its common for opiate withdrawl.
ididit35 0 Posted January 21, 2010 Itching is quite normal unless the incisions are hot to touch, red, or have excessive drainage. Itching is a sign of the healing process.
thebandedgirl 0 Posted January 21, 2010 The itching is just caused by healing  I'm having the same problem now on my port incision, five days after revision surgery. I had the same problem with my tattoo a week or so after I got it!
tkattau 0 Posted January 22, 2010 Put a frozen cold pack on it. It will stop itching within a minute. I promise.
