Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Recommended Posts

I believe your procedure is also referred to as an anchor incision and Shalee04 had it, I think, and is thrilled with the results. She posted that the central incision basically disappeared and she has a great figure. I can see where that procedure would give an hourglass figure compared to a plain TT. Please keep posting about your journey.

Thanks for the reply Mimi. I will be happy to share my experiences of the procedure once it is done. Please God, my results will be as aesthetically pleasing as Shalee's.

My original post was moved to a different forum and somehow, your post has ended up disconnected from the original post, but I still appreciate your reply.:cursing:

Hi Mimi, the least I can do is reply when someone goes to the trouble of replying to me. We banded individuals need to stick together!

Thanks for the encouragement and the interest. I will keep you posted!

I'm due to be done on the 12th of Feb at North Tyneside Hospital (ward 7 - if any of you are local - why don't you come up and see me?).

Incidentally, my staffy bitch is being speyed on the Monday (8th Feb) so I am guaranteed some empathy from somewhere.

I'm inthe UK, so it's on the good old National Health Service - which is free at the point of contact. We pay "national insurance" contributions from the time we start work, along with tax and stuff, and although I didn't think it was a good idea when I was a teenager, I now appreciate the service, especially as I've needed 6 operations in the past 6 years.

Hang on, did you mean will the insurance cover me or the staffy? The dog - no, me, the NHS.

Clear as mud!

Hey, OHM, I just saw a series of videos by a girl that had the same surgery as you will have on Youtube. Her reasons were stated and the results were very good. She is a by pass patient, I think, but a fairly young woman. She did well.

Good luck, Mimi

Thanks for that Mimilou. I will peruse, I promise.

Well, the countdown has started - my surgery will take place on Friday morning. Apparently I am first on the surgical list so with any luck I'll be sitting up and taking notice by lunchtime.

Just by the by, Kenya, my staffordshire bull terrier, was spayed today. She was also first onthe surgical list, and I dropped her off at 8:30 this morning and collected her, quieter and a bit subdued but very pleased to see me, at 3:30 this afternoon. She came home and went to sleep, but roused herself sufficiently to beg for an individual soy toad in the hole while the kids were having their tea - so I'm confident that she is fine.

I'll take her back to gether stitches checked on Thrusday and then, Friday morning, will be my turn!!!! Yikes!:)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
