Weird question about the liquids

Recommended Posts

Can we have unsweetend applesauce. I am very constipated what other foods would help with that?

:w00t: I guess I should say I was just banded on the 13th so I am still on liquid diet.< /p>

I think applesauce is the mushies stage.

Prune juice might help you.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of your fluids & are moving. pain meds can make you constipated unfortunately. So I only took mine when i HAD too. Miralax is still my friend. However, they do have a Light Prune juice w/ less calories at Super Walmart. :w00t:

If you're on a liquid diet, it's NOT unusual not to have a BM; think about it: what is there to eliminate from your body that the kidneys can't handle?

If you're on full liquids, there will be some residue--but again, not a lot.

You were just banded, so I would not be concerned at this point. OTOH, if it's a matter of comfort, my doctor okayed OTC stool softeners. Why not ask yours if you can take something like Dulcolax? (Miralax is great if bona fide Constipation does not respond, but it can affect liver function, so I wouldn't make the leap directly to it, personally.)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
