I want magic, I don't want to work, just give me a magic piece of plastic

Recommended Posts

I read the original post as being facetious and showing frustration with those that keep posting about their bands not working like they should and those that respond with, "it will work after a fill or two" without ever delving into the fact that they have to change their lifestyle in order to make the band work.

I can't figure out if they are being patronizing or are just plain ignorant as to what the band actually does.

BT, You get me, You honestly get me.

My post was meant to be absurd, sarcastic and facetious. My band is a tool, and I use it. But I am gonna lose another 100 lbs by working hard, eating right, and changing my behaviour. I will do it. The band will help.

But, if it could be magic, wouldn't that be great!!!

Thanks for chiming in BT. I knew you would.

TJ

P.S. Hummingbird, Elfiepoo and others, thanks for the concern. You guys are great....

TJ, I'm just seeing this now. I actually chuckled reading it somewhat because I sensed the facetious tone of the post. It can get frustrating being patient waiting for it this weight to come off when we're busting out butts so hard though :-)! I have no doubt you'll lose that additional 100!!

Glad you're okay and I was right in thinking you were being a smart a$$ LOL!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
