Yes.....well most of it..Im having my Protein Shake once a day and I yesteday I blended 1/2 a potato with a small chicken thigh...and had that for lunch...Im also having Jello and pudding and yogurt...

its all low fat!!..

my second meal before leaving the hospital was tapioca pudding..cottage cheese and jello...

may be i should just be having all liquids..

I had to stay on Clear Liquids only for the first 10 days, then the next 10 days were full liquids which included Protein shakes. I wasn't allowed cottage cheese or anything mushy until day 21. During the first 20 days the weight came off rapidly. Once I started mushy food it did slow down some.

I guess you really can't compare yourself to me since we were eating differently at the same stage. I will tell you that in the 9 months since I have been banded I have not eaten a potato. Too high in carbs. I watch my fat intake as well as my carb and sugar intake. Focus on eating Protein and veggies lower in carbs such as broccoli. Once in a while I do have a slice of pizza but if I were to eat high carb/fat foods on a daily basis I would not be losing weight.

Just my opinion! Best of luck to you.

Yes, it is normal. I would ask my doctor about eating puree food just yet. I also think it is only Clear Liquids and Protein but then again that was my doctor.

I know the frustration you are feeling right now. But I must tell you that the first few weeks are more about healing than losing weight. I went into surgery 189lbs cam home weighing 196lbs. Talk about being frustrated! It took me a few weeks to get that Water weight off and to finally see the scale move in my favor. Hang in there and you will see results. Just keep following your doctors orders and continue to drink your Protein. Good luck and I hope this gives you a little piece of mind

Step away from the scale.:tt1: Put a towel over it or something. Now don't go near it for the next two to three weeks. Healing is not the time to be watching your weight go up and down like a yo yo, which is what it is probably going to do.

YOu have to know that you are puffy for at least a week from all the fluids they run through you during surgery. Keep on truckin and make sure to drink plenty of water!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
