Fashion question - black with brown?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

This is my problem. I had mostly black and brown clothes. Have had to replace most and have problems with matching things.

I bought these new brown high boots to wear with a brown skirt, but they really actually look better with the black slim skirt for a job interview.

Would you wear brown boots with a black skirt?

Yes it is perfectly acceptable to wear black with brown these days...I see people doing it all the time!

Thanks you kkarryall!

Sorry I took so long to respond. I have been having computer issues.

I did well on the interview and was offered the position, not really the hours I wanted, but it's OK for now.

BTW, I made a mistake on my resume. Had a typo in my phone number!

Jeeze...just a warning to anyone reading this. Be sure to check that resume for errors. I felt really dumb for not catching this as I am a medical transcriptionist.

Black and brown are neutral colors, they are fine to go together

Sorry you made the phone typo and glad you got the job. I had to chuckle because I purposely paired a brown shirt with black jeans after reading your thread!!! I like the combo. And I envy your ability to wear those kind of boots. My legs are too short and thick, sniff sniff!!!

Lol, I'm the odd one out but i probably would be unsure, just like you.

Never say never though, you never know how something looks till you try it, and there's no hard and fast rules. Brown boots with brown skirt could look weird too depending on the tones.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
