Weird metallic taste in mouth

Recommended Posts

After my first fill, I mean as soon as the doc pulled the needle out I had a weird metallic sweet taste in the back of my throat. I thought it was weird but did not say anything about it.

I had my second fill this morning and the same thing happened. I asked my doc about it and he said no one has ever mentioned it before. As soon as I drink my Water it is gone.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience?

Thanks

Hi,

That's very interesting. I've had 3 fills and it has not happened to me. Hope you can find out what it is.

Good luck!

That happen to me the first time I got a fill as well. Not sure what it was from but I quickly forgot about it. I have had 2 other fills since and it never came back. You can always call your doc and ask them but I wouldn't worry about it. =)

I not only had the sweet taste after my first fill, but I now have it all the time. It is weird and I have no idea what it means. I just had my 2nd fill Thursday and forgot to say anything to my dr. but the taste is still there.

Yes! I had my first fill today and the metallic taste came within 6 minutes of being done with the fill. It was weird. The nurse said it's absolutely normal and not to worry about it. It's been 5 hours since my fill and the taste is still there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
