First Fill Tomorrow.....FINALLY!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Woooohoooo!

I never thought the day would come! I have my first fill tomorrow morning at 7:45!!!! It will be nice to eat these smaller portions and not be as starving! I'm getting used to being hungry :-(!

I must have read a zillion posts on fills and being on liquids right after and I can ask the doc this tomorrow, but are we talking Clear Liquids or can I have egg beater consistency type stuff? I'm fine to drink all my Protein for the next few days if I have to, but whenever I can try to chew the protein, I want to!

Thanks for any insight you can offer!!!

My doctor said it didn't matter what color or temperature the liquids were after my fill. Just no solid foods for 24 hrs. I could eat "mushies" and any liquids that I chose.

Good luck with your fill. Can you tell me if it is normal to have side pain when walking any distance? It is my first week after surgery day 7 today. I go to the dr tomorrow but am hoping this pain too will go away. It hurt bad when walking at the store last night for the first time. I was literally holding my side like I had ran a marathon or something. It's been so cold and snowy here, I couldn't get out of the house so very limited walking on my part. I have now stopped all the pain meds because the pain is now tolerable, that kind of took me by surprise last night when it was so painful to walk any distance.

My doc said creamy Soups were fine as long as my stomach agreed, but certainly no solids

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
