amazing what a 35 lbs loss can do

Recommended Posts

I know what you mean about the change in the weight of your face. My double chin has ALMOST completely disappeared! YAY! No more trying to get my chin up in the picture to hide the double chin....haha.

Congrats on the weightloss! I have lost about 36 pounds and no one ever notices. I think that they are so used to seeing me heavy that until I start to really thin out, they wont notice the change. I have only gone down one size, but hey, it is a start!!! Best of luck to all of you on the journey to the new you!

Congratulations on your milestones... I have yet to lose my second chin but hey, I just lost the third one... My milestones will mostly be in my arms which are disproportionately larger... I have always hated my arms more than anything and truely think 1/3 of my body wieght was right there... I always have to but blouses that are technically 1 or 2 sizes larger than my body calls for just to squeeze these arms in... A lot of people are commenting on my weight loss, Currently I am down 21 pounds since Dec. 4th however I think my arms are the first to grow and the last to go.... I'm wearing smaller jeans down from 18 to 14 but I still have to squeeze these arms into 18/20... I'm so disgusted in my arms... Over the years I have tried really hard to work them good at the gym and such and nothing helps... Only 3 people know I have had WLS and one of those people, when I told her I was having it done, the first thing she said to me was "that's fantastic and when you lose the weight you should go have arm surgery" That broke my heart becasue I like to pretend that I am the only one who notices... What really burns me up is that I personally know people who are 100 pounds or more heavier than me overweight and they still only have arms half the size of mine... My mother had the SAME arms so I'm guessing its genetics... How else to explain why some heavy people have big arms and some don't.... Hopefully someday, I can quit wearing 3/4 sleeve tops in the oppressing heat of summer!

Anyhow, Like most of you, I have gotten so used to taking just the right angle photos of my face, I have forgotten what its like to take a normal picture and look forward to doing so in a few more pounds... (Still waiting for the 2nd chin to be a little less puffy and noticable... )

Keep up the good work everyone and if anyone has any tried and true Arm excercises please share with me...

My daughter feels the same way about her arms. She has lost about 95lbs but still hates her arms! I don't notice them near as much as she does. She says she is going to get them reduced when she can afford it. I still don't notice them but if she holds them up just right, I can see that they have extra skin hanging down. Now that I have lost 31lbs, I notice that my skin on my whole arm and back of my hands looks crepey.. Like an old womans skin. That is the hardest for me. I am almost 59 so I guess I need to just grow up!!! LOL!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
