Humming Bird 275 Posted January 9, 2010 I have seen in many posts that many of my fellow bansters love greek yogurt. This morning I read that someone loves greek yogurt with sugar free preserves in it. Today I am really feeling true malnutrition, so when I was out and about I got some. It tastes so very bad. What am I doing wrong? Now I have a big container of greek yogurt that is going to be thrown away like much of the food I try lately. :tt1:
untfluter 3 Posted January 9, 2010 I love greek yogurt...but not the plain yogurt.. plain yogurt in any form is nasty.. LOL I use the Chobani flavored yogurt... it comes in three flavors, peach (YUM) blueberry and strawberry..... I add one packet of splenda to it... try that... Jachut 487 Posted January 9, 2010 I love the tartness of plain yogurt. I think its an acquired taste though. I'm not really into sweet yogurt.
BetsyB 9 Posted January 9, 2010 It's less tart than regular (thinner) yogurt, but the tang may still be too much for you. I like it with a tiny bit of Splenda and some good-quality vanilla (like Nielsen-Massey). I use little enough fruit that sweetening it a bit helps. But I also really love it, unsweetened, or in savory uses (with herbs, for example). The texture is heavenly.
altopower 1 Posted January 10, 2010 The taste of the Fage Greek yogurt varies (at least for me) between the 0%, 2% and full fat versions. I just can't eat the 0% Fage, but love the 2% and given that I only eat 1/3 C. at a time, I have no qualms about eating that. Plus my doctor said it was fine. The Chobani w/fruit is okay for "taking with me" Snacks but at home I only eat the Fage from the tub.
jujuvee 0 Posted January 10, 2010 I love Greek yogurt, I always buy the plain. I admit that I do kick it up by adding sugar free flavor to it. I have also added Peanut Butter to it ( stir really well ) also I use it on baked potatoes instead of sour cream and in tuna instead of mayo. The options are endless if you buy the plain. Nancy6015 0 Posted January 11, 2010 I, too, did not care for the Greek yogurt at all. I've heard that smell is 95% of taste ... and this smells awful.

gilta 0 Posted January 11, 2010 I love Greek Yogurt. I buy plain 0% and add in either fresh fruit, low fat granola or surger free spread. I cannot eat it plain but it is a great source of Protein.< /p>
elcee 3,341 Posted January 31, 2010 I love it with some sweetener and cinnamon. Its thick, creamy, yummy and very satisfying. Its also great with fruit or natural muesli.Or added to savoury dishes in place of cream
Chippy31 0 Posted March 15, 2010 I didn't start eating greek yogurt until after I was banded and I now love it! Whole foods market has a great variety. It's also becoming pretty popular ... I was at a grocery store the other day and saw that Yoplait and Dannon now make greek yogurt. The yoplait was around 110 calories with 12g of protien I think. malinda1229 1 Posted March 15, 2010 We make our Greek yogurt own and add frozen berries to it no sugar, or ginger and orange zest, or even honey!! I can't stand regular yogurt. I guess its all a matter of taste..that is why there is variety!!
AnneGG 0 Posted March 15, 2010 I'm another Greek yogurt lover, especially Chobani 0%. Good stuff and high Protein. I like to add stuff, too. Good ice cream replacement for this pre-op kid full of pre-op jitters. I am experimenting pre-op with finding foods and protein powders I like. Now, protein shots- bleegh! They are so small I hope I will be able to slam them down even with the band...
