Hi guys,

I was banded on oct 13th and everything went great -

I have had 2 fills totalling 4.5cc -- everything was going along wonderful, i was at a loss of 29lb a week or 2 before christmas, during christmas and until now i gained 4 pounds, i didnt think i was eating wrong - i was watching everything, and the amounts, since then i have only been able to relose 1 lb so i am still up three and the scale doesnt seem to be cooperating.. given how smoothly and succesfully things were going before i am getting upset.

I have a carnation sugar free Breakfast with protien powder and skim milk for breakfast, lunch is normally a salad or a lean cusine type meal and my dinner is meat and veggie - by dinner i seem to be eating more than i should be allowed, im not feeling full. Could this just mean i need another fill?

I have decided to go with just protien powder and no carnation breakfast for breafkast to cut out some cals,, about 60.

all in all i am nearly 3 months out and 26lbs down....

just starting to freakout that this wont work.......

I had my band on 10-23-09 and I went through the same thing. I went back to my Doctor and I needed a fill. He tld me that as the swelling goes down the more Fluid you need. Even after a fill or two, your stomach adjusts to the size. I have finally hit my sweet spot. It has taken four fills. Hang in there and don't give up. If you want my advise, just go back to your Doctor, talk to them and see if it is time for another fill. Hope this helps.

Thank you .

I have a fill scheduled for the 20th.. so I guess I will just ride it out and be extra aware of how much i eat.

First off, you have lost a lot of weight. It will fluctuate. Do not beat yourself up over it.

It is not enough to "watch" what you eat. Log it online or on paper and you may see that you are eating more than you thought.

If you don't see what is causing it, you can discuss what you've logged with a nutritionist and they may be able to point you in the right direction.

And drink plenty of Water. At least 64 ounces a day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
