Hey all. I've been keeping motivated by making youtube blog videos every now and then. I felt like I needed to tell people my story behind the fat. I've had inner demons that caused me to gain weight. Mostly my childhood. April 2009 was the last time I spoke to my my mom. I put a restraining order against her. Since then I've been so much more healthy. The last step I needed was the surgery. So far I've lost 20 pounds! Many more to come!

I am always sad when I hear that people don't get along with their Mom. I was close to mine and am very close to all of my adult children. I know these things are complicated and I am not judging in any way. I only hope that some day the two of you can call a truce. Best of luck on your journey!!!

Wow, Jessica. Bravo for having the courage to face your past and deal with it. I just finished reading "When food is Love" by Geneen Roth. Most complusive eaters had abusive childhoods. If you haven't read it you might want to check it out. It might help you on your journey but, you seem to be doing awesome!!! Congratulations!!! Thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

Thanks for sharing the video, you are a inspiration and so beautiful. Sometimes in life we have to make tough choices and it looks like you had to make one of the toughest in order to start the healing process.

Hello,

I am much older than you and have had similar exp. with my mom. If you ever need anyone to talk to or someone that understands please feel free to email me. It is one of the hardest things to have to go through this life without a mom. Or a mom that is just a shell of what a real mother should be. Me and my sister do our best to just start our family and our lives from us on, and you can to. You can learn from others how to be a strong independant person and eventually a great loving mom, if that is what you want.
