I had my second fill on Monday and everything that I eat is getting stuck. Does this mean that the band is too tight??? I'm eating soft foods (cottage cheese, scrambled eggs etc) and I'm chewing well. If the band is tight, shouldn't the food be staying in the small stomach and not getting stuck in between?? Or is the band not tight enough and food is getting stuck between the 2 pouches?

eggs are an easily 'stuck' food for many (they're rubbery and tend to ball up together). If you know you're chewing really well and it's still happening today...call your doc for a small unfill (sometimes a tiny bit out makes a huge difference). Best wishes! -BG

If you're taking small bites, chewing well and waiting between bites...and not drinking with your meal...then you're too tight.

Not necessarily! I cannot eat eggs no matter how they are cooked. My band tightness also fluctuates from day to day. There are many reasons why a band may be tight. Are you drinking all the Water you are suppose to? Do you have a cold or sinus issues? Did you follow your doctor's orders and stay on liquids for 2 days after your fill to allow the swelling in your stomach to go down? If you have been stuck since your fill it is a mad viscous cycle. If you have a stuck episode you are suppose to return to liquids only for the remainder of that day because getting stuck will cause your stomach to swell around the band.

I feel it takes over a week to really know exactly what your normal restriction is because swelling after an adjustment really takes some time to go away.

I am not your doctor but..... I think you are ok for now as long as you can keep fluids down. If it continues for the next few days I think it may be to tight and you need to have some saline removed. Again just my opinion from my experience as a bandster. I think you should contact your doctor if it goes on for a few days and again immediatly if your not keeping fluids down.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
