healthierdiva 0 Posted January 7, 2010 Hi, All- I had surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow and have only lost 21lbs pre and post surgery and haven't lost any weight in a week. Could my body be going into starvation mode? I am following doctors orders and eating healthy. Has anyone else experienced this? My doctor said to see her in 2 weeks. I don't want to become obsessed. Helpful hints, tips, suggestions, encouragement?! Help! Thank you, HD:cursing:
Teacher07 3 Posted January 7, 2010 Honey you are not going to lose 10lbs a week. You should be so excited about the 21 lbs you have lost. How long would it have taken you to lose 21lbs without the band. I think you need to relax and adjust to your new lifestyle. Also, because you are so newly banded you dont want to be crazy at the gym but try walking a little more each day! Best of luck to you!

So it's possible *BUT* I wouldn't worry about it. Two weeks postop means you are still healing. This time is not about weight loss...it's about healing. It's not uncommon not to lose weight during this time. .
HeatherR 0 Posted January 7, 2010 Where you are right now is frusterating but hang in there! You just have to be patient. You will start loosing again just keep making the right choices and follow the 'rules'. Keep your follow-up appointments and discuss your feelings with your Doctor. Almost everyone that has been banded went through this in the beginning! Good luck! (You'll be fine!):smile2:

I have resolved to give myself a break and not beat myself up. It didn't take 2 weeks to get into this mess, it won't take 2 weeks to get out of it!! Good luck to all of you in this journey... Hugs!
