Whats up with the hiccups?

Recommended Posts

Since my last fill, I hiccup quite a bit after about every meal. Does this mean, whoa, stop eating, or does it mean I am just eating too fast or what? Just wondering about others experiences with his

Thx! Jodi

This is one of the things my surgeon talked about at my consult. He said it is a "full signal." I started paying attention even before my surgery, and yep, sometimes when I was full I had a hiccup.

Now post-op, The hiccup comes way too late for it to be my full signal.

I was told by my surgeon & nutritionist that hiccups is typically a sign of eatting too fast. Try slowing it down a bit, if you still are hiccuping might be the sign of being full like the above responders said :smile2:. Are you measuring out your food still? So you would know when you have between 2-4oz in ya?

Hiccups are a signal to stop eatting..called a "soft stop". If you stop eating you will be fine. If you ignore it and continue to eat you could risk getting stuck, get a pain under the left ribcage from overeatting or at the very least you could stretch you're pouch.

There are other "soft stop" signals. Everyone is different of course. It's all part of listening to you're band!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
