ElizabethNYC 1 Posted January 4, 2010 Hey all! Hope everyone had a great New Year (no hangovers I'm hoping). I'm on day 3 of not smoking and I'm not going to lie, I'm struggling just a bit. I decided to quit for my surgery that way I can be all around healthy. Anyone else quit the habit in the past or recently (cold turkey), if so any advice???? :blushing:
waynooo 1 Posted January 4, 2010 What got me through it was changing my routine. I had not realized that I did certian things that I associated with smoking. So instead of hanging out with my buddies at lunch I went to my office and closed the door. I told every one that I was not intending to be rude but i just had to get away from them for awhile. It helped along with zyban, I have been smoke free for 9 years now! Good luck, Wayno:thumbup:

Gone23456 0 Posted January 7, 2010 I smoked for 6 1/2 years and quit cold turkey back on September 30, 2007. I personally love forums. I spent the first few months on QuitNet - the Web's largest online quit smoking community - friendly support and advice. Every time I wanted to smoke I went there and read. I killed many hours worth of cravings just reading random things. It counts out how many days, hours, minutes that you have been quit and how much money you have saved. It helped seeing it all there in black and white. Congratulations on your new healthier life!!
