I can eat just about anything...

Recommended Posts

Ugh!!! I can't believe you doc does not have a post op plan.. Right now it's about healing so nothing chunky because you don't want the stomach to churn. I'm at work or I would send you the phases my surgeon gave to me. If anyone else on this post has theirs please pass it on. Creamy Soups, yogurt, applesauce, and Protein drinks were acceptable on mine.

Private message me your email and I will send you all my info.

Slider foods to me are anything that slides down, now obviously some are have great nutritional value like yogurt and cottage cheese and others like Cookies and chips have none but in moderation we can eat anything... That's the beauty of the band.

I think different surgeons classify different things as sliders. Mine has the same definition as you. Even though Protein drinks, yogurt, milk, etc. are all good for you, she would rather have you eat solid Protein instead because then you are really utilizing the band. I still eat some of these 'sliders', but w/the awareness that it is not gonna stay w/me as long as a piece of chicken or fish would.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
