I was banded a year ago. After my last fill I started making funny gurlgling noises. It is very loud and annoying. I did not make these noises until my last fill. Does anyone else have this problem? I am sure it is just air moving from one chamber to the other...but it is annoying. Is there anything that can be done to minimize the noise? And, is it a sign I am too tight since it did not occur until my last fill. (By the way, my last fill was too tight and I went back in to take some out and now I feel my band is perfect with regards to restriction.)

Thanks!

Cate

Haha you are like the gazillionth person to ask this question. (myself included)! My doc says its normal and because so many other people have questions about it I am assuming we are not the only ones! :smile2:

Yep..you're normal. One fill, I'll have the noise and the next one, it will be gone. Comes & goes.

think of ur new pouch as a sink or bathtub..

and when theres so much Water and you let it go through it makes some sorta guurgling type sound :smile2: The doc said perhaps a big bite or eating to fast. I get it too.. Loud enough for people to hear and ask.. "wait where the hell did that just come from?" some people laugh that my stomach talks to them, they don't know about the surgery. I cant help but laugh!

Thank you all for the responses. I am glad to hear this is relatively normal. It is frustrating because it is so loud. And, my body makes the noise even on just liquids, not just food. For example, as I type this message I am drinking my morning coffee (no food) and I am creaking and moaning like crazy. It is so loud.

But, knowing it is relatively normal and not an issue with the band is comforting.

Thank you!!

Cate

2 years post-op here, and I do it too. It doesn't matter if I am full or hungry. It isn't hunger sounds. That is entirely different.

I try to think of it as my band saying hello.

Since so many others have named their bands, I am trying to think of one for mine. I tried "Paco," but there are two Chihuahuas in my neighborhood with that name. My husband likes "Otto."

Will have to think on it.

Maybe "Laura" after my neice who never stops talking! :smile2:
