Question for those who have had more than one fill...

Recommended Posts

Is this because you haven't reached your sweet spot or is it because that sweet spot changes on a monthly basis?

I'm pretty sure I'm at my sweet spot. I get stuck if I don't chew well or take too big of bites, but otherwise I'm ok. At first last week I felt full after my meal (right after my unfill), but now I don't; however, I am limiting myself right now to 1 cup of food at a meal and am content and not hungry for about 4 hours afterwards so I'm guessing that's the sweet spot.

I was kind of assuming that once I get to that point, I won't need further fills for months.

.

I do what greytz does too regardless of whether I think I need a fill or not and seems like the trend in December was for many to get unfills (me included so I was there every two weeks and will be Jan 5 again). I set up appts two months in advance monthly. The practice I got to likes you to go monthly and I think that is also important for success (at least my referring doctor had thought so).

If you asked me last week I would have said I doubt I needed any fill on my Jan 5 appt. Now I am not sure maybe .2.... I will let her decide last time I pushed her over the fence to a higher fill and ended up having to go back for an unfill. But either way I will go and check in... I feel it would keep me on track.

I say definitely make the appointment for 2 weeks out! Especially since you are just starting out with your fills. I am going in for my third this week. My last fill was Dec. 21st & I thought I may have hit my sweet spot until a few days ago. Before that I had been pondering canceling my appt., thank goodness I didn't!

Like the others said, you can always cancel!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
