Water, water everywhere...

and too blasted much to drink!

Argh! Is anyone else having difficulty drinking their 64 oz of Water?

I used to drink almost a gallon of water a day and now I'm having difficulty getting in 64 oz! I can't drink 30 minutes before or 60 minutes after a meal or with a meal and I 'forget' at other times.

I've tried just about everything to remind myself, but other than the hot cup of tea I drink first thing in the morning, and *maybe* 16 oz of water in the evening, I'm not drinking all day.

Any hints, tips or tricks for how to remember?

I had my first follow-up appointment this week and was told to sip tea throughout the day. Warm liquids go down pretty smooth and it prohibits you from gulping. I'd say I now drink about 3-4 mugs of green tea a day and that's already about 48 oz. - 64 oz.

My problem is that I forget. I have Water bottles all over my warehouse and office figuring I'll walk by one and think, "Oh yeah and drink some." Shoot...it's like the dust in my house...I just don't see them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
