jaciqltz 0 Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) Ok it started about 3 weeks ago. Thought it might be a yeast infection, but did not really have the same FEEL or symptoms. Just a whole lot of itching in the entire pubic region and inner thighs... But I did a monistat 1 anyway...not much change in symptoms. So I bought some extra strength Vagisil...HOLY CARP...I used it last night and spend the whole night in the bathroom with a cold wash rag trying to sooth things, and fighting the urge to scratch my self silly....it was like someone poured acid on me and I could not get it to stop burning, and itching, and swelling... today is not much better, swelling has gone down, but not sure for how long or why! I am afraid my sugars may be the trigger to the itch, but now it appears I must have an allergic reaction to what was in the vagisil....my inner thighs look burned, and the itch is now like a NERVE pain, no matter how hard or how long you scratch, the itch never stops... I also now feel a pressure in my groin, almost like menstral cramps., but I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, so no menses here! I am at a loss as to what to do and have no DR available until Tues. the earliest! Not sure if this is something the band is causing, but I am only 3 3/4 months out from surgery, so have NOT ruled out the strong diet change! Saraboo 21 Posted December 27, 2009 It sounds like you maight have bv-bacterial vaginosis. It's an infection where the symptoms are similar to a yeast inefection. An antibiotic should clear it up if thats the case. I had the same thing, and I was miserable.
rafa2 5 Posted December 28, 2009 Being as uncomfortable as you are, and considering your symptoms it probably is vaginosis as mentioned by a poster above, I would go to a walk in or th ER. I couldn't possibly wait until Tuesday. Fact is you'll probably need a prescription for antibiotics, and the sooner you start the treatment the better. Good luck! nebraskahickchi 2 Posted December 30, 2009 Sounds like BV to me, too. The meds they give you for that work very, very quickly... go see your doctor right away!! It's worth it!
