I'm a month out from surgery and am eating soft foods. My question is, ordinary tasks are sooo exhausting and I"m wondering if anyone else experienced this? I want to start exercising for real, but I seem to be so weak; I also have some dull muscle achiness/weakness. I am eating probably 800-1000 calories per day, so I think that is enough. I just wonder what I can do to help with my stamina/fitness?

It is hard to get enough Protein grams on that low calorie count, are you sure you are getting enough? Are you taking your Vitamins? Maybe just getting started with exercise will rev you up, I hope so, I hate that draggy feeling.

Best wishes,

Mimi

You've got to fuel the furnace. Change your eating plan a bit. Plan your meal so that first and foremost, you get at least 20 grams of Protein in each meal. After you eat your Protein, have a serving of vegetable and a serving of a whole gram carb. If you get hungry in less than 4 hours (and you likely will), eat a snack of PROTEIN....a boiled egg, an ounce of low fat cheese, a little deli sliced turkey. And EAT your protein, rather than drink Protein shakes. The chewing part of "real" food is part of the satiety thing.

Make sure you drink your 64 oz. of Water every day, too....getting dehydrated will make you feel draggy too.

Once you can go 4 hours without feeling starved, you're "THERE".

Thanks.

I'm taking my Vitamin and drinking my Water. I'm eating soft foods like eggs, Protein Shakes, and cheese grits. Yogurt, cottage cheese....sometimes overcooked Pasta. I can't wait to eat "real" foods, but moving to soft foods was really awesome, too. I wish I could shake this. I want some energy.

I actually didn't exercise at all for 3 months after surgery. Getting up the stairs was a choir or even walking briskly was hard at first. It felt like my whole body was weakened and was beaten up. It did eventually go away and I returned to normal. It just took time. It had nothing to do with what I was eating.

I have a feeling some people's bodies go into shock after banding, a combination of the surgery and the new eating plan. Your body needs time to adjust. Some people bounce back, others need to go through an adjustment period.

This is very helpful! I feel like I'm dragging still and it has been a month.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
