Its been 4 weeks and lost 21 in two weeks. Since then I have went to solids and gained and lost the same 4 pounds over and over. Week five and just went back up to the 4. I am starting to get very frustrated. I am so tired of going to dinners and not having much to still be 4 pounds up. I don't get a fill till the 2 week of Jan. Any ideas would be great.B):crying:;):crying::crying::crying:

Unfortunately, most of us went through this. You do not get to that "sweet spot" as they say until you have had about three fills...of course some people vary. I remember feeling like a failure at your same point thinking I was going to fail at even the lapband. Please remember it is a slow process. Also, when was the last time you lost 24 pounds in 4 weeks? You go up and down some but in the long run you will be steadily lossing. It gets easier and you feel less hungry the more fills you get. Don't be too agressive with the fills or you will get sick a lot. One more thing, if you are not at least walking I would do that. It really keeps your weight loss moving in the right direction. Hang in there and do not be so hard on yourself!

Please try not to get discouraged. Like the previous poster said, it is a slow process. Once you get good restriction you wont feel deprived. I am satisfied on very little nowadays. I know it is difficult for you right now, especially with all the holiday goodies around but it's only food. Put it into perspective.

When I began this process it was pretty slow and I have very little patience. If I would have realized last April when I had my surgery that I would already be down 87 pounds by Christmas, I would have been much more satisfied with my band. Looking back on this past year I realize that I really have lost this weight pretty quickly and painlessly. The big thing to remember is that the band is only a tool. Your tool will not work properly until it is in proper working order. Once you are perfectly restricted you will begin losing slow and steady. It is the slow and steady that will prepare you for keeping this weight off the rest of your life. So please hang in there and prepare to change your life for the better.

Regards,

Donna

I am 3 wks out and feel the same way!! I lost 18 pounds and now my scale won't budge! I hope I notice the weight coming off after I get a fill or two. I still have 2 wks until my first fill too. It is very frustrating but I am trying to stay positive.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
