Hi, had my first fill on the 17th nov. I did not feel any real diffference either. At first I did like when I left the office. But the next day could not tell. On Saturday the area where my 3 incisions on the left of my body were felt different. Kinda like a pulled muscle or area and just sore. It was different, do not know if that was because of the fill or what.

Anyone else have any advice on what to expect or if I am not doing something right?

Hi, I think you are ok. I felt no real restriction until after the second fill and now on my fourth I have really noticed a difference. Last fill I had to be careful as I ate to avoid getting anything stuck but I never felt over full.

Now however that has changed. I have a couple of mouthfuls and I can tell that I am getting there. I am also not hungry until around 2pm.

Stick with it. It has to go slow or you won't get used to it.

Great! I do not feel as bad. Right now I am battling with the goodies and foods that are around this time of year.

I hear ya about the goodies. I am thinking about baking up a batch of oatmeal Cookies or something more healthy. I can substitute the sugar with Stevia (sp) and add nuts and try to make them as good for me as I can. Plus not eat them all at once! Ho ho ho...it is Christmas and all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...buried in a nice warm cookie! LOL!

I have had 3 fills and am at 8 cc now and still I think I can eat too much. However today I think I ate too fast or something, got heartburn and it lasted awhile and I didn't want to continue to eat. Then tonight I was able to eat a whole bowl of chili. How do you know when you are filled the right amount? Becky

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
