Connorsmom 1 Posted October 23, 2005 Since my second fill last Wednesday I have not been able to eat and even liquids were a struggle. This morning I have managed oatmeal and two glasses of Water with no problem! Oh yeah, I have lost 7 lbs since this fill!!
rorysmom 0 Posted October 23, 2005 that's a nice upside! did you see your doc, or was it swelling?
liannatx 897 Posted October 23, 2005 :banana Kudos for you on the -7!!!! Glad you are getting things down easier now. Was this just a case of waiting out some swelling, and not an overfill? Seems that way. I am mentally filing all this info away for future use, lol.
seppi 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Excellent. Sometimes it takes a while for our bodies to make the adjustment to the adjustment. Keep up the good work!
vinesqueen 2 Posted October 24, 2005 even liquids were a struggle. Oh yeah, I have lost 7 lbs since this fill!! It is possible that you have lost some weight because of dehydration, also, it sounds like your band is too tight. Too tight is worse than too loose because too tight can damage your stomach. And that's bad. If you are still too tight, too tight for solid food and solid protien, you should schedule an unfill. I was too tight my first fill and lost 5 pounds the first week. Half of that was dehydration.
paula 4 Posted October 24, 2005 Just be very careful! If you pb, go immediately to warm liquids. Being tight and pbing will cause swelling around your band opening - and possibly cause obstruction of even liquids. Also, remember! Sometimes you gain restriction a couple of weeks down the road, and most always, extra restriciton is noticed during our cycle. Be careful careful careful! The quick weightloss is nice, but its not worth harming your body for.
CandySmooch 0 Posted October 24, 2005 i agree - be very careful your not too tight - being too tight for an extended time causes problems - slippage, reflux, esophogilitis - my dr. told me at my last fill that if I couldn't get solids down the next day to come back because it wasn't going to loosen up and new research is showing complications from being too tight - so I had to go for an unfill a few days later and I lost 3lbs in a day and a 1/2 and my dr. was not happy about that so he took some away from me. just be careful.
