Quick question,

i am having a little pain up a little form the large inscision - i was banded 9 weeks ago and and have had no problems. i had my second fill on monday - tuesday i bent over to tie my shoes and i felt a sharp pain - now its just sore and if i press on the area it is more sore - should i be worried??

the upside, when pressing i can feel the port now where i wasnt able to before lol. guess that is what 29lb does for ya huh lol.

What kind of band do you have? I have the Realize band and about 4 weeks out of surgery, I bent over from a sitting position to reach my purse on the floor of the car. I felt a sharp pain at my port and thought 'uh oh'. For almost a week the area around my port was sore. Then at 5 weeks I inadvertently took on too much weight when a 50 lb box slid off a shelf into my arms and I felt the stress to the port. Again, for a week it was sore but now it's fine.

According to my doc, the port area is not completely healed for 2-3 months (varies according to person) and it's possible that something may cause it to shift slightly and it may become inflamed. They suggested a warm compress to help with the symptoms.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
