davsil 0 Posted December 17, 2009 I'm sure this has been asked before but I didn't find the answer. When weighing food do you use the pre-cooked weight or the cooked weight? Most things lose weight during cooking. I've been using the pre-cooked weight but would like to know if there is a definitive answer on the right one to use. greytz 4 Posted December 17, 2009 I would ask your surgeon to be sure what they want you to do but when I weighed my food in the beginning I always weighed it pre-cooked.
kiz 1 Posted December 17, 2009 I agree that you should ask your doctor, but to answer you question, mine goes by food volume, not weight. So, I'm supposed to eat no more than 1/2 cup meals, and that's after cooking. It's to be sure we don't eat more food than can be safely held in our pouch.
