I had surgery in January, and have not lost alot of weight....I have had three fills, and am finding it hard to find anything that I can eat. I think I wait too long to eat, and when I do, Im starving so I cram it in my mouth very quickly, which results in visiting the bathroom. I also think I am Vitamin deficient, because I am constantly sick. I dont think I am getting enough protein....I am sick of Protein Shakes, and yogurt!!! And on top of all of that I still drink sodas, cant seem to quit...and I have lost my will to exercise...has someone been there?:)

I thought I was ready to take on life with the band, but I'm learning that I wasn't as prepared as I thought I was pre-op.

My advice? Get a slight unfill and see if that helps you add variety in your diet. Make time to eat on a regular schedule and take enough time to chew. Eat a variety of foods. STOP with the soda! I know it's easier said than done, but you CAN do it. Don't buy it. They're full of empty calories and chemicals your body doesn't need.

I've lost my will to exercise but I'm going to start forcing myself to go effective Saturday or Sunday. Want to make a commitment to me that you'll start this weekend and I'll do the same for you?

You can do this. It's hard work. Very hard work. But you're capable. I promise you!

It's a deal. So here's my commitment: I will go to the gym on either Saturday or Sunday and work out for at least 20 minutes. I will then go at least two more times over the next working week for at least 20 minutes.

We can keep in touch through private messages here, via Twitter, the contact form on my blog, or email. Let me know what works best for you :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
