Student Question: What "hacks" have you figured out (In apps, devices, etc.)?

Hi Bariatric Pals Please help me! I'm a design student working on a Senior capstone project. I'm designing a wearable device and app for weight loss surgery patients. They will use the device and the app AFTER their surgery, to help give them support, motivation, and the tools to be successful. My question is: if you currently use devices (FitBit, Jawbone, Fuelband, etc.) or apps (MyFitnessPal, Livestrong, LoseIt, WW, etc.) what have you noticed to be missing, specifically when considering people who have lost weight through surgery? examples: do you customize your devices in order to track Protein? Do you set timers for a feeding schedule? Another other insights and comments welcome as well : ) Thanks so much! -Adrienne Pearson aruthpearson@gmail.com -
We all know that exercise is a good thing. It burns calories, improves mood, makes your heart healthier, improves blood sugar control, makes you smarter…and on and on. But it’s hard! It can be a real struggle to get out the door, especially when it means getting out of your cozy bed a little earlier, or leaving behind your couch and favorite TV show. Sometimes I trick myself into getting started by telling myself I only need to do a little and then I can rest again. I also try to make it easier by varying my workouts so I don’t get bored, and having my shoes and workout clothes all ready so it’s easier to start. So…what are your tricks for making sure you get in your exercise?

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2020 and was wondering if WLs has truly change it for you better or worse. Part of the reason I am doing this surgery is to hopefully get rid of the weight that is impossible to lose due to PCOS but also because I heard it "cures" it. What are you're thoughts or experiences?
