    VBLOG 4: Why I am a Vegetarian

    http://youtu.be/Io2YpiQ8zcM
  2. I was just wondering if there is anyone that is thinking of weight loss surgery or has had weight loss surgery that eats a plant based diet? On April 11, 2016 I had the gastric sleeve done. Once I started my liquid diet and no longer was eating meat, I just switched to a plant based diet and never looked back. I still will occasionally have traces of dairy in something I eat, but I'm working on switching to a vegan diet. Would love to hear your post-surgery plant based meals if this is something you are also going through. Brittney
  3. I am wondering if there are other vegetarians/vegans who are getting or have gotten sleeved? I was sleeved 04/18/2016 and found the process a little more difficult because I am a vegetarian. I am also a nurse and thought that it would be a good research project. I would love some input and anything that I use would be kept anonymous. The direction that I am heading with this is to provide a guide for pre and post op vegetarian eating with the gastric sleeve. Feel free to answer me on this board and I will give you contact information. Maybe this can benefit someone you know who is getting the sleeve and is having trouble knowing what they can and cannot eat. Micah
  4. I am scheduled for my bypass on 2/17. I am looking for other vegans to help me. I am currently a vegetarian but want to make the jump to veganism when I have the surgery. Anyone know of any support groups or individuals willing to help? Thanks.
  5. Happy new year to everyone! Like others who've posted on this forum, I want to move towards a more plant-based diet. For my, my goal is hopefully to return to being mostly vegan (I've gotten re-hooked on cheese, ugh!) There aren't many of us out there, and we are constantly subjected to misinformation -- even criticism -- about how we "need" to eat animals products regularly. So here's the challenge: pick one day a week and post on this thread on that day EVERY WEEK until Valentine Day. Post more if you want; once a week S the minimum. Post about anything you want -- what you ate that day, what you wish you'd eaten, something funny your cat did...anything goes! Let's just start supporting each other by simply letting other veg*n & " eg*n wannabes" know they aren't alone. Who's in?
