    Food Before and After Photos

My mom force fed me, she was very strict about clearing my plate, then I grew up and she became the opposite and gave me a hard time about “how much I ate” 🤷‍♀️

    Breast Augmentation

@sillykitty you look great! I am an A cup of skin LOL I have had 2 children breast fed, this is my second time losing 100+ lbs so my boobies have seen better days. Thank you for your input!

    Best shoes for walking

Hokas I wear them at work bc we walk and stand a lot they are very comfy
  4. Honestly, one of the things I didn't miss when I became morbidly obese. There is a big difference between a kind compliment and a lewd suggestive comment. Now that I've lost a lot of my chest size, it's cut down on that BS considerably. Hahahaa!

    Cost of complications

Definitely reach out to the surgeons office bc BCBS tried to pull it saying it wasn’t covered but it actually was I had already checked before going through the program

    August Surgery buddies

Please take that as a blessing! It’s the worst not being able to intake liquids as recommended and feel behind. It just means your body is healing well and making progress. Your stomach is enjoying why it’s been fed.

    Off & on

I was concerned bc it was trouble free with airfryer shrimps earlier but my impression now is body can react weirdly to things it tolerated well b4 anytime it wishes

    HOLY HAIR!

@fed-up and @Arabesque so very sorry that both of you are going through this horrible, stressful “Is it? Isn’t it?” journey right now. Sometimes life just throws 💩 at you and expects you to deal 😕 Take care both of you 💜💜

    HOLY HAIR!

So sorry you are experiencing this @fed-up. Have you seen a dermatologist who specialises in hair loss issues? There may be something else going on. What are your blood work results like? Have you had your hormone levels checked?

    HOLY HAIR!

Oh no, @fed-up. I’m going through this too & waiting for results (an undiagnosed cervical mass) so I know how you’re feeling. Those ‘it could be nothing but ….’ statements from the specialists are the worst and then the waiting for results are a rollercoaster. You’ll be in my prayers. Fingers crossed for an all clear.
  11. Thank you so much. For the detailed repsonse i am indeed fed up of nuggets and shrimps which’s what my diet is predominantly composed of not bec of any indigestion but the restriction of the sleeve and my no interest I. Cooking I don’t like Greek yogurt. would love trying oatmeal but thought that would be too high carb frutis fill me fast at the cost of protein and fluids soups sound divine and recipes would be welcome ideas to diversify proteins beyond baked chicken and nuggets would also be very very appreciated

    Water

    Bathroom issues

With the sleeve, the need to go and gas isn’t nearly as much as with the TDS bc your insides haven’t been changed like that. It is only a large reduction in the size of your stomach.
  15. Oh I assume the button incision is small and they don’t stitch it How do you wash the belly button after surgery ? The smell could be bc of the abdominal binder I wore constantly for the first five days
  16. Did it !!!!!! Milk of magnesia 2 oz between 4 oz of water worked but you are right it was very watery bc nothing to come out I WAS CONCERNED About strain on stitches in stomach or skin when straining

    Egg White Protein Powder

Hey, @JennyBeez Awesome topic: I would avoid egg white powder. It's very high in methionine, which in convincing model organism studies, has been shown to promote aging and reduce both life & healthspan. I suggest avoiding egg white protein specifically and if possible focusing on plant-based proteins, which are relatively low in methionine & isoleucine, another amino acid with evidence suggesting a pro-aging effect. Plant-based proteins can be absorbed similarly to animal based proteins if refined sufficiently, eg as concentrates or isolates *I am currently earning my PhD (have earned multiple scholarships) and hold a BS in Biology from MIT
  18. Premier protein is intolerable pos op - I use fairlife/ isopure the nausea is just worse somedays more than others its not mechanical restriction so much as just a not wanting to drink more bc it’s plain water if that makes sense Haven’t found a flavor enhancer I like so far anyone have a sipping schedule (how much water to aim for in a certain period to get to 64) would be very welcome
  19. From my sons grad food spread. What’s funny is I never did eat anything bc I was so busy til everyone left and so by then all I got to eat was some guacamole and some cucumbers with ranch dip.

What you should know about WLS they don't tell you

Exactly!!! I fed her, clothed her, exercised her so she would look her best, and then she just went and f'd off.....😡🤬
  21. Got home. Got naked. Stepped on scales. Back at 70.4kg. So up 1 kg (2.2lbs) since last Friday .One full month of being stalled today. Starting to get very very very fed up. No way am I consuming over 1000 calories a day even counting every drop I drink, every splash of milk I put in a coffee. So p*ssed off at still seeing a 7 on the scales. Doing my head in. Going to have a nap and reflect.

    3 Months Post-Op

So glad things went well for you at your follow-up appointment and you can stop taking lansoprazole - hurray!! It’s amazing how much has changed for you in such a short space of time, and will continue to change for quite a while yet. I think it takes a some time to find your feet when you have undergone some transformative weight loss, plus I also think there’s an element of mourning the person you was and not being sure about the person you’re becoming. I hope you’re documenting your experience, just so you can look back on your journey when things get difficult or you get fed up. It always helps to have something to guide us when we’re feeling out of sorts, or the dreaded stall look’s never ending! Well done on your journey so far 👏👏👏
  23. Got mine on 5 June. Waiting for first in person appt to take off bandaid bc terrified to do it myself. So far drinking seeq protein water and some thinned Greek yogurt . Dying to find new ideas, new to this forum and would love to get in touch directly with other June ops
  24. I got it on the 5th and an anesthesia newbie like you. Recovery has been smooth so far except for a belly button discharge and odor which the surgeon says happened bc the nurse cleaned it too vigorously maybe. Fingers crossed for that to resolve with clotrimazole. liquid phase for 3 weeks .how are you doing with your fluid goals
  25. I am using miralax once a day post op and a week after have had only one bowel movement - my dr says bowel habits change and you identify constipation by an ‘urge to go but can’t’ Anything more specific bc post op honestly I am so apprehensive it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s me stressing Also any advise for constipation ?
