Most NSV's involve something ego-petting, but this is priceless. Congratulations!

Scale and non-scale victories!

You won the double lottery of scale and NSV victories in one. That is indeed a reason for celebration! Way to go! -
Big Surprise for me today!

I don't like most premade Protein shakes but I do love my Shakeology vanilla with a little fruit in it. Now I might have to try a little pumpkin since someone mentioned it. I like the Shakeology because it has so many other nutrients besides just Protein so I feel like I've covered my bases on my first meal of the day. I do still take my recommended Vitamins as well. Long Division-Let's just say I stopped understanding math when the alphabet decided to get involved. 49ers- It just not as fun making fun of them without Harbaugh. Go Hawks NSV-I sold all my XL Seahawks Jerseys and bought new one's in size Small. ~LA

While my wife & I were getting ready for work this morning, I double checked the weather. Looked like it was going to be a chilly day here in Ohio. I grabbed one of my new-to-me fleece sweaters that I picked up at the local thrift store. My wife grabbed one as well and to her dismay she discovered she could not wear it because it was too small for her. The days of my wife stealing my clothes are finally at an end!

I couldn't buy the cute sweater dress that I wanted today, because they didn't have the size I needed... SMALL! A great NSV, for sure, but I still want the dress. Guess I'm ordering online.

NSV and SV - but the NSV felt better!
Redsfan19 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I hit the century club this week (Over 100 lbs down about 8 months out from surgery), but more important than that, I just got back from vacation in Hawaii. A year ago, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it nearly as much as I did this year. This year, the humidity didn't bother me nearly as much as it would have in the past, because I felt comfortable in shorts and dresses and swimsuits, much more than I did 100 lbs ago! I'm still technically obese, but I feel SO much better in my own skin. Also, during a hike, rather than stopping and sweating and wheezing, I was able to hike up steps without gasping for breath or wanting to sit on the ground. I know people debating the surgery worry about exactly how much weight they'll lose and whether they'll be able to wear a two piece swimsuit, but even if I don't get into a bikini I have no regrets for the life my successful surgery has let me live to the fullest. The numbers on the scale pale in comparison to that! Best of luck to those of you struggling through tough days pre or post surgery - better days are ahead! -
Follow up to this thread, I did discuss with my sleep doctor and he agreed that I can get rid of the cpap! What a huge NSV!!

So this morning I am sitting there, enjoying my coffee & watching the news when I got an itch on my shoulder. I reach up & scratch only to discover this hard lump near my neck. Imagine my surprise when I took out my phone for a selfie and discovered {GASP!} my collarbone!! It's actually showing. No longer hidden beneath all the layers of chubb that used to reside there, I could actually SEE IT. Had to take a photo to show my hubby too, after he walked in on me giggling like a school girl and rubbing my neck ... admiring my collarbone! (Don't know why the photo is sideways, but that really is a bone showing!)

So happy...wore no elastic in the waist jeans to church! They slipped on like a glove. This is a great day and this makes everything I have went through all worth it.

My relationship with my scale...
Babbs replied to ALLABTME_KISHA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is why it's really important for us to focus more on the non scale victories (NSV's) as opposed to the numbers. We all have been guilty of getting too damn wrapped up in the numbers, and can lose site of what is really important, like feeling and looking healthier. Good job on your progress! You've done great! -
8 weeks post op and have only lost 25 pounds!
Kindle replied to cal2okl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Like everyone else said....quit comparing with others and stop cheating. If you follow the program you won't have to weigh to know you are losing. Track NSVs instead of numbers. They are more important anyways. Celebrate what you have accomplished, don't get caught up in the WLS race. You have the rest if your life to get where you want to be. It's not gonna happen in a few months. I had "only" lost 17 pounds at 12 weeks out (that was only the 6th time I had weighed myself postop) and I was thrilled. In the end, I lost over 100% of my excess weight, and the scale had nothing to do with it. -
What is your most embarrassing NSV?

What is your most embarrassing NSV?
Dub replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Awesome !!!!!!!! I can say that without question my "most embarrassing NSV" was a pants-on-the-ground moment, too. Ironically, it was when I was bringing in groceries.....had a few bags in each hands.....had climbed the front outsided stairs and made it to the top and then they dropped......all the way down....belt and all. My neighbors and anyone driving by had a crazy sight to greet them. Couldn't be helped. Gotta love the need for smaller clothes. -
When I sit in the tub, it hurts now, because I have NO booty anymore lol

I don't have surgery until December, but thoroughly enjoy reading everyone's NSV or what NSV they can't wait for! I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit and ask that we share our most private/embarrassing NSV or the ones we normally wouldn't tell anyone! My two most private/embarrassing to admit NSV's will be: 1. Wiping with ease! 2. Grocery shopping without sweating like I have just worked out at the gym!

Big guy needing new mattress......suggestions on what's working for you......
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to Dub's topic in The Guys’ Room
Hey, @@Dub, I don't have any recommendations, but thought you might appreciate this old NSV. It's since been replaced by a queen, but, at the time of surgery, I had a full-sized bed. Prior to surgery, at my all-time high of 311, I'd lie in it and feel so miserable. It looked and felt as though I were in a twin., When I lost about 100 lbs, I wasn't checking, but happened to notice how much larger the bed seemed, enough that I thought of myself as having lost a whole bed size.
