    Slow Losers Unite!

Thank you all for your opinions! It is such a help since I was so undecided. I have always been leaning toward the one without the ruffles as well but everyone's opinions have helped push me in the direction of the other one! Shortgal, my future mother and sister-in-law like that one, too. It IS different and that would make it stand out, but I just don't think it flatters my, as I put it, "24 hour glass figure"!! Thank you all for your compliments. It makes me feel so good to hear people say I have a "small waist"! It's been a long time since I've been told that! I guess even if you don't lose many pounds you can still lose inches! A fabulous NSV for me!! Welcome to you Sharon. Your weight loss is wonderful, believe me! Everyone on this forum is going through the same thing and everyone here is so wonderful! They are all so very supportive and have helped me through some rough times. I couldn't have got this far without the support of my "slow loser friends"!!! Stick with us and post often with updates. You'll be glad you did!!

    My experience… sleeved on 1/22/22

So today is the first day I woke up without a weight loss. I know this is super normal but emotionally I just feel like I’m doing something wrong. My clothes fit better- but nothing is too big for me in my closet yet. The second something is too big is going to be the best NSV ever. I’m gonna let myself have a bit of a lazy morning- getting some laundry done then I’ll go walk at the gym and just keep moving forward. One day at a time.
  3. @@Jobey Wow, you look great ! Congratulations! Yes, I too noticed slowing down of my weight loss. I lost 33kg/72 Ib in my first 6-7 months. Lately I have been sitting on 68kg/149 Ib for the past 6-7 weeks, and it is not budging. I even made a post about it in the General Gastric Sleeve: "I'm still Shrinking", as I am still losing my measurements. I am very close to Goal, and I don't like my scales right now, but my wrist, shoe size, arms and face are showing more changes. Plus my clothes are getting looser still. I have changed to mostly Protein diet now, and I got my GENEPRO Protein powder from the States that I add to my coffee now. Still add my Aussie protein powder to my yoghurt. For me, the honey moon period finished after 6-7 months, hunger returned and weight loss slowed. Thank goodness for NSVs! @@Jobey I am in Queensland too, moved to the Gold Coast few years ago (from Sydney).

Hey Koala, I am so happy for you. You just described some of the nsv's that I hope will be coming for me too. I can't wait to go and buy cute clothes off the rack. Well done. You have worked hard for it too, the band was an aid. By the way I love Koalas too.:biggrin1: Susannah

    NJ February 2008 Chat

Hey guys just jumping on for a quick second. Pat, thanks for the compliment. Just think how I would look with the massive amount of skin removed. (I tuck it into my pants right now) I could do without the breast lift.....Hubby says the girls still look really good. We went bowling with some people from a bike group that we belong to, and had a blast last night. It was nice to have some adult interaction. Abi went the the doctor yesterday and she has a sinus infection. We are back at the ENT tomorrow. I went for my allergy test today, good news is, no allergy. Bad news is I still have sinus issues with no real cause. I go for the cat-scan tomorrow. It was supposed to be today, but they had to postpone, the tech was sick today. I see the doc tomorrow, so we will see what he says. We got a ton of snow Sunday night, about 6 in. in a matter of a few hours. I shoveled the driveway, steps and walkway, and I didn't get winded at all. Talk about a huge NSV. We are expecting more snow again tonight....ugh! My neighbor is a real estate agent, we were out shoveling at the same time Sunday, and I told her that she had to sell me on staying here in this frozen hell. She just laughed at me, she says we have to stay cuz we are such good neighbors. She's the best. I also have big news. I ran for the board of directors in my subdivision, and last night I was elected onto the board. It will be a ton of work but worth it, I really do love my community. I'm off to bed. I'll check in later. ~Mandy
  7. So Ive been browsing the site and replied to many others with well wishes and finally my day is here on Wednesday, July 26th! I am just sooo excited that I can't contain it internally. I am literally salivating at the thought of the losers bench; the extra energy; the lighter body to finally hold a plank for 2+ minutes; easier push ups; easier stair climbing the treacherous NYC subway stairs. Just can't wait for life to finally be grand! And one NSV - I will finally since the age of 12 not have to go to the "Plus Sized" department!!! My pre-op diet with my surgeon is only required for 2 days but I will start it on Sunday instead. All clear liquids only - no protein shakes nor meals. May be tough but it will surely be worth it. Are their any potential sleeves for July 26th as well. Would be great to encourage one another. [emoji3][emoji1437]

    Going to Australia - NSV

Definitly an awesome NSV! Enjoy your time down under.
  9. Got into a smaller bra, sorry guys out there but to us girls it's a big thing. And the best part was it was on clearance at Dillard's, it was a Wacoal, originally $48, I got it for $15, yup, I did. Then I hit Belk's and bought a 1X shirt, yes I did, and it was on sale got it for $7, it was my day, oh and I tried on some cute jeans at Belk's size 22, they fit but too darn long and they said short, I was so disappointed and they were on sale, I should have gotten them and had them altered.
  10. On Thursday I'm flying to Brisbane Australia! It has been on my bucket list for a long time but now it is a dream come true. I don't have any summer clothes since i have just been buying winter/fall clothes after hitting goal last month. So here is my NSV moment.. You know that friend you have that the idea of even wishing to be as thin as them is a mean joke to play on youself?? Well she offered to let me use some of her clothes on my trip. I laughed at the idea and told her she was crazy!! There is no way I can get my butt into her skinny ass clothes!!! Well guess what!?!?? I am borrowing some of her clothing for my trip!!! I almost cried when I put on a pair of her shorts an they fit. I still don't see myself as a size four but some how putting on her clothing made it more real to me. I honestly have a problem of seeing myself as big now that Im thin but when i was big i ddnt think i was as big as i was. Now any time I think I need to lose more weight I just remind myself I'm the same size as my tinny friend. Also I got a two piece swim suit to wear to the beach. Im still a little unsure about wearing it since my scars are only six months old but Im just going to face my fears head on. I have a new body and I'm not going to hide anymore! It is time to live my live!! You can't win if you never play the game!

    NSV Photo Thread

This is an NSV BECAUSE: This is the first year I dressed up for Christmas since I was a teenager. I always thought I looked like a fool to dress up, infact I tried to dress as not to be noticed at all. And I NEVER wore a Dress! Not only did I wear a dress, but nice shoes too. I got this dress in a bag of clothes from someone off of freecycle and I was just gonna wear it as a lounging gown, but I clipped a flower to it, my daughter quickly put together some matching earings with her bead kit and all I had to buy was 10$ shoes at Paylesss shoes.. My whole family was amazing "oh my, you dressed up" "you look so pretty" "you have a figure"... This was especially nice since I had stopped losing weight and I really never felt any different until this day.

    4 Months Pictures!

Can not believe how much time went by since my surgery!!! I am grateful of the results that I have enjoyed so far. Like most slow losers, I wish I had lost more! But things are moving along. I am making changes that will not only help me lose the weight now, but keep if off in the long run. I just went through a super stall, BUT to my surprise I got the most comments and compliments during that period!! Go figure lol!! My upper body slimmed down significantly, but my lower body is stubborn and will not be as flexible:( I did lose, but not as drastically as my top did. I hope that will be the next site of improvement or I am going to look very disproportionate:( NSV: I wore heels for the first time in YEARS today! And I felt ( do I dare say ) so SEXY lol!!! I am of good spirit and faith. I am going to win this fight.

will my brain ever catch up?

I had this very thought just yesterday. I have been getting so many compliments at how thin I'm getting but right behind those comments are " and your clothes look too big for you to be wearing to work anymore" so I decided to head on over to New York and Company. I automatically head to the far right end of the rack to grab the biggest size that I would wear from that store which was an 18/ 20, Turns out I am down to a 12. I couldn't believe my eyes and had to re check the size on the tag. Yup, I'm wearing a 12! Yay... So putting on clothes that fit helps me realize the changes I have gone through. Hard work, sweat and even pain are paying off. It's like they say no pain no gain! Congrats to everyone on your NSV's....

    Major NSVs!

I'm 7 weeks out. I'm down 56 pounds but more exciting to me is I have lost 5 inches in my waist and my hips. I'm down from 24 pants to 18; and some 18s are getting loose! I bought a shirt at the store last weekend. It was in the regular section so I didn't know if it would fit. I held up the XL and thought it fit. Got home and I was swimming in it! Went back and tried on the medium. It fit well but the bust area looked odd the way it was cut because I'm still a D. So I got the L and it looks good even though its a bit big. Unbelievable! I also lost three inches under my bust and I'm having to use the inner clasp. I'm putting off getting new bras as long as I can. Also I talked to my daughter who is 9. I was talking to her about eating habits and told her I don't want her to end up over weight like me. She said she didn't think I was overweight. If only we could see ourselves through their eyes! I'm able to walk up the stairs at work which are huge without grabbing the rail or feeling tired. I have a lot more energy too!

    2 new NSV's

Okay, so this weekend I decided to try on a formal pencil dress. they didn't have my size, so I tried on one size smaller. Guess what! It fit!!!!!!! I didn't even need to unzip it! I just slipped it right on. I was just window shopping, so I didn't buy it, but I might go back and get it because I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks. The second one was that I was sitting at a restaurant eating, and thought to myself, " gee, I think my stomach is shrinking!" LMAO!!!!
  20. I guess that would be a good way to discourage DH from using all the gas in my vehicle!! That is a funny NSV, my port area is still sorta numb....now is that crazy?? Annie, can u really feel the tube??
  21. What exactly is NSV?

My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!

This is a different kind of NSV -- I got out one of my pretty spring/summer dresses to wear to church this a.m. because I know I won't be able to wear this size again soon. I have been avoiding wearing dresses because I just didn't feel pretty due to my weight so I splurged yesterday and got a manicure and pedicure, got my nails done in a pretty hot pink and I'm stepping out in style this morning holding my head high. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

So Shaving Your Legs And Being Obese

Ha, I've actually found I have to shave more often and it takes longer since I've lost weight! But I'm not complaining. I think the changes in my hormones regulating has made my hair grow faster, and now I've got all the bumps to maneuver around again -- knee caps, ankles, etc. Another great NSV!
