    What..Sweet spot?

I was banded last July. I just had my 7th(?) fill and I now have somewhere around 10cc in a large VG band. I now have restriction. I think it is the sweet spot. Before this last fill, I could eat anything. One thing you have to do, is start exersizing. I have a bum knee so I pedal an exersize bike for at least an hour a day and have averaged between 7 - 10 pounds per month.

where are the july bandsters at now

I started my pre-op liquids on 6/21 and had surgery on 7/1. Beginning weight was 320, day of surgery 296. I currently weigh 250. I have had 3 fills, plus the original 4cc's put in during surgery, for a total of 9.5cc in a 10 band. I still do not feel that I have true restriction but I have been able to follow the rules well enough so far. From here on out will be the true test for me, I can usually stick with anything for 3 or 4 months then I fall off the wagon. I, too, feel like it has come off faster than predicted but I'm not complaining.

    No weight loss

Even though I had surgery before you2/4/19... I lost 25 lbs between my March 21st check up and yesterday.. with a few days when the scale showed a gain here and there and a few stalls... do t beat yourself up!!! You got this !!! You are doing well..
  6. So as most of you know I had me sleeve done 3-20-19. This was the best decision I made for myself. Since my surgery I have only lost 25 lbs. I have been doing everything they have asked, just can't lose it. I work out, get my protein and water. I'm not gaining just don't know what else to do. I'm so scary this will not work for me after I went through a year and a half working for it. The one day of the week that I don't go to the gym I feel guilty about it At first I was thinking this is a stall but come on I'm in week 9. I just don't know what to do anymore, hoping this wasn't a waste of time. Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sleeved 1/5/17

I just had VSG this last Thursday 1/5. So far so good. I can tell my stomach is still inflamed and it's hard to get liquids down currently but each day gets better. I have already lost 10 pds which was surprising to me as I thought I would be heavier after surgery. Glad to find a forum with people who are in a similar stage. 8. Hi all....I have heard that this sometimes happens but it's a first for me. Gonna give some background info here. Banded 3/24/10 First fill 5/4/10 and got 4.4ccs in a 10 cc band. Last 2 weeks have really had not much of an appetite and Surgeons office said that's ok, just keep hydrated and get Protein in which I have been doing faithfully. Last night, I was REALLY hungry so me and my partner went out for dinner. I ate till I was a bit over full but did not vomit or PB or anything. It all went down fine.... This morning I have some serious restriction. The thought of one bite of food makes me feel awful....I have had Water and a Protein Drink coffee, which is my normal routine. I never am hungry til later in the morning... I am also having a bit of pain....??? The pain is all around my upper rib cage in the front and the back. I would describe the pain as if I wore a bra and the band size was way too small...I know it's not my heart....maybe my lungs? or just the muscles all around my rib cage....??? I have read posts about people being tight in the morning and I usually am just a bit but this feels really tight.... Any thoughts or suggestions anyone??? Thanks, Meg

    belly help please

I don't know what the moving down stuff means. Since your waist has measured smaller in the past couple of months, have you lost weight in those months? Also, are you doing any kind of resistance training lie squats, deadlifts or even ab work such as crunches, burpees? If so, you could be adding some core muscle which adds muscle thickness to waist while not losing inches there. I've not dropped a waist size in 6-8 months, but I've lost 10-12 pounds since my last waist size drop. I know I've lost some fat on my waist during that time, but I also have new muscle there since I've been training my core pretty hard, which equals no smaller waist, but a fitter waist, so I'm cool with that. There also may be other factors like sagging skin, water retention, etc. Do any of these apply in your situation?

    Pre op diet concerns !

I'm scheduled for surgery 10/5or6 and was told to start pre op diet 2weeks prior. For me it's 2 Protein shakes and a lean meat for dinner. Nothing else. I've noticed everyone is different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Personally, I was sleeved in MX so I didn't ahve any post op follow up. I had surgery and flew back home less than a week later. My loss was really slow at first, then accelerated, then stopped, then slow, then stopped....I'm just getting off another plateau now. I'm 15 and a half months out, and I think this final 40 lbs is kicking my a**, but I know that slow and steady will win the race. It's easy to get discouraged and to look at the tickers of other who had surgery the same time as you and wish you had their results already, but the most honest and best advice I can give is: Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Compare yourself to you. When was the last time you lost 10 lbs before surgery, how long did it take? Did it take longer and was it more difficult than the current 10 lbs you're lamenting over? The answers are probably yes and yes. Another thing to remember about your loss now, is that, you're not losing weight, you're GETTING RID of it!! That is 10 lbs you will probably never ever ever EVER see again!! How great is that!?! One day at a time, if you do the right things, Protein first, exercise, you WILL see results, you WILL lose the weight, and you WILL look hot and feel great!! Welcome to the losers bench!!

Wow, great question! And a great answer! As someone who is within 10 lbs of goal, this is fascinating. I'm still going for the goal, but it makes one wonder.....

What level did you find your green zone?

It has been a really slow process for me. I have had a fill each month since January. I thought maybe my band had a hole in it but my Dr said no since he pulls the liquid out each month before adding more. I'm so glad I asked cause I was sure it had a hole in it. Lol. Well my last fill was at 9 in a 10 bad and I finally feel like I have a band. So I know what ur going through although you have done really well. I've been hanging on trying not to lose the initial weight I lost. This is certainly a journey and I look forward to learning how to figure it all out so I can lose some weight. It's been hard not getting down on myself and worried about people judging me knowing I had surgery and not seeing any weight loss.
  16. I was sleeved on Sept. 7 and I just reached 30 lbs today! (11 lbs pre-surgery, 19 since surgery) This is fun!

    Ugh, I'm getting scared!

You know I was thinking about being scared and i was reading in the complications thread about a gal who had to get her gallbladder out and she was so glad so now she wouldnt be sick anymore and she would start feeling better!! I think the difference is the type of surgeries...elective vs. HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!!! But if we think about the lap band as HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW because we need to feel better now...then maybe it wouldnt be so hard to swallow the fact that you are having surgery. I mean, if you didnt have the Lap band surgery and then 2 years from now you have to have open heart surgery because you have a heart attack because of the obesity and comorbidities, you would be glad that the doctor was going to fix your heart so you could live longer....I dont know, I am just ranting...I was scared too and I dont think there is anything anyone can say to make it better or the nervousness go away. But, I do know, that my doctor told me three years ago that if I didnt do something about my weight I would not be around in 10 years...So three years later...I was 7 years away from the ten year time frame...and I got scared...more scared than thinking about the surgery... You will get through it and then wonder why you were so nervous...thats how it always works.....but in the mean time....CONGRATULATIONS!! You are gonna be healthy:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Deanna

    Surgery today 5/22

Just wanted to share how easy this was today for anyone who might be getting nervous. I had my surgery today at 10 a.m. and I was home by 1 p.m. I've slept most of the day, I think from the pain meds I am taking. I'm taking them even though I don't have pain, just to head it off. I've sipped on Gatorade all day, maybe 1/3 or a bottle. My only complaint is a sore throat and I seem to get the hiccups, probably from sipping incorrectly. Good luck everyone! Oh, and I did a one week pre-op diet. Last week at start of diet I was 212, today I was 204. I am 5'7" w/ a BMI of 31.9 and want to get down to 150.
  19. So I am 10 days post op and the incision where my port is has started hurting like crazy! It didnt hurt for the first week but the past few days has been hell! Every time I lay on it or push it against something it hurts so bad! And to make matters worse I sleep on my stomach. Ughh has anyone else had this problem or is something wrong? Im kinda freakin out
