Hey there hun :0) How are things going? I'm doing well and i'll post a blog to let you know what's going on thus far. As far as mobility I am becoming more active every day. I try to get out and about more than I use to. In 07 i had a surgery to my left leg which left me unable to walk for about 5mos and I actually had to be rehabilitated to learn to walk again. From that point till today I am doing so much better and I went from a wheelchair, to walker, to independently walking on my own. I don't currently work so If i'm not out shopping I'm usually at home. I resigned from my job in 08 due to my health and being in and out of the hospital. I thank God that I have not been sick in some time now and I owe all of this weight loss to Him.
I'm glad that you are doing so well and you are up and about. It takes strength and determination from ourselves first in order to make it through this. I know that you can do it.

Hi Sunshine2 - would you do it again. I've read about all your trouble with the fills. Did this discourage you from continuing your weight loss.
Went for my first consult and spoke to several ladies in the waiting room. All tried to discourage me from getting the band. I'm so confused. I cannot lose the weight without some sort of help. You did loose so much that it almost seems worth the pain and suffering. Am I correct to feel this way or is it not worth it for you. cat lady

Where are you having your surgery done? I went with the Weight Loss Institute at DePaul. I think I'll be happy with them. I'm looking forward to getting banded and moving forward with my life!

I am really really good. Dr. Baker did my surgery at Baptist Dec. 16th. Dr. Wellborn is doing one of my dearest friends this Friday, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes! The weight loss has slowed but is about a pound a week, I can still eat more than I should but not as much as I did and am anxious for my next fill (2 week)...but I feel great. I'm only about 30 minutes from Little Rock so the travel isn't such a big deal for me. I would encourage you to take a pillow to the hospital with you to hug on for the drive home, it wasn't terrible, but those bumps hurt and the pillow helps! I know you must be going crazy waiting to hear something!!! Good luck, let me know how things are going!

Hey girl as always thanks for the ancouragement over the last eight months. I try to realize this is my life, not a marathon, it is just a little hard now that the loss is slower. I am just thankful to be where I am and not where I was.

OMG I thought I was the only one but its even worse since mushies I've gained 2-3lbs back
I'm like you I just want to wake up and at least 10lbs more gone. I can't wait to get a fill I believe Im scheduled for 1st fill 2nd week in Feb (so long away). I'm going to get a b12 shot in hopes that will speed some of this weight loss off faster. I've slowly been trying to incorporte my eliptical machine.

Hello, I took 2000 mg of Biotin, but to be honest it didn't really work. I don't know if it was coincidence but within a week of starting on Zinc the hair loss stopped. I lost hair by the handful daily from post op months 4-8. It has finally stopped and I do have new growth. I wish you luck with this and I hope you don't lose to much hair.

Happy to SEE the that 26 pounds lost is actually noticeable! If you aren't taking pictures to document your loss, you should!

Saw the orthopedic surgeon, he says I likely tore the cartilage in my left knee. I have to get an MRI to be sure. He did say after looking at my x-rays that I have arthritis "far too severe for someone my age". I suspect it's from being way too fat for too long, but he said the weight loss and all the walking I do will help a lot. So, we'll see what happens!

Can anyone recommend a weight loss Doctor in the San Antatonio area that don't push the HCG shot for my Mother in-law.
