Love it! My bras don't fit. I love pretty bras. Even overweight/obese I had a rainbow of them. (I have weird obsession with wearing a bra that matches my shirt) I love the Cacique bras for the support and lift, and have dozens of them. My DH jokes that I have "bra Christmas trees" because I hang numerous ones from one strap onto a clothes hanger, lol. I have a hanger in the laundry room just to air dry them. I even hang them in the closet because they took too much room in a drawer : ( When we lost my son I literally gained so much, so fast, that I had to get those bra extenders. About 20lbs down I was able to stop using those... then I lost 20lbs more and was having to use the last/tightest hooks. I realized today that my bras are all too big around! One of the measurements I took to start was my ribcage (right at the bra band level) and it has gone from 44 in to 36.5 in! My bras don't fit at all! This is a great NSV for me!

Back to normal food? And what dose NSV MEAN?
Miss Mac replied to kristenkek's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories

I started the pureed diet yesterday and had some scrambled eggs this morning. It felt good to actually chew some food, instead of slurping it. I only did a little because I didn't want to overdo it and did not have any issues with it. I'm excited about going into this phase and start eating more textured food. I have to admit while I have been on the liquid diet, I have not felt full and didn't feel that way this morning when I tried the eggs. I guess I will feel that way when I start eating more foods...

Back to normal food? And what dose NSV MEAN?
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to kristenkek's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
NSV's cover near-infinite territory as one's body fills less territory. They include everything from wearing smaller sizes to sitting in a theater seat without hips being bruised to getting in and out of cars more easily. You will recognize and relish each of your own as you go along. -
Back to normal food? And what dose NSV MEAN?
TheRealMeIsHere! replied to kristenkek's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's best to avoid pasta, rice, potatoes, bread and sugar, those things will slow or stop weight loss and cause cravings. Focus on lean/fat free Protein sources and non-starchy veggies. When you eat out, just ask that foods be prepared without added fat/oil and eat your protein and non-starchy veggies first. f you have room left, then have a bite or two of pasta/potato or bread. That way, you know you won't overdo on those things. After a while your whole relationship with food will change. At home, get creative, there are some great recipes out there. Instead of telling yourself, "I CAN'T have.........." say, "I DON'T eat......." Just that small change in your thinking, takes it from feeling deprived to feeling empowered. You will find what works for you, in time, be patient. You got this! NSV's are things like being able to do something you couldn't before, etc... -

You will be able to eat normal food in just a few short weeks. NSV means non scale victories. Hang in there. -
Back to normal food? And what dose NSV MEAN?

I am hoping that one day I will be able to eat normal food again just in smaller portions. I don't mean fast food but if I go out with my family to a restaurant I can order pasta but only have a small amount? And what does NSV mean? I've seen in on a lot of threads. -
finally under 220! and crossing my legs!
The Candidate replied to BairwithMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those are all indeed NSV's worth shouting about! Congrats! -
Echoing what everyone else has said. My stall lasted 2 weeks. I just kept plugging and I'm headed downward again. I really do think that our bodies go through a "WTF??" moment. It will get with the program. One of the things you want to keep track of is non-scale victories (NSV). You may not notice the scale moving, but pay attention to things like how your clothing fits, how you feel when you're walking, etc. That will help.

There is no greater feeling than conquering something that once conquered you! What and AWESOME NSV!!!

What a wonderful and beautiful NSV! My eyes watered because I have three daughters, and my oldest understood my struggle and transformation the most. She was very supportive and proud. Keep it up, mam. Good luck to you and I wish you many more inspiring NSV's!

Oh, that brought a tear to my eye! What a sweet daughter you have there. Congrats on the NSV!

So I had to share with people who can relate. I was getting ready for work this morning and was able to wear a much smaller pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in years. I asked my 15 yr old daughter if I looked ok and she welled up in tears, hugged me, and told me how great I looked and how proud of me she is. Made me feel so good. ????

One of my first posts on this forum was in the "What was your straw that broke the camel's back?" thread. I just went back and found it... "Going to a birthday party with my 7-year-old daughter for one of her friends and the activity was hiking up a moderate/difficult trail. 3 minutes in I felt like I was going to pass out but I was trying to keep on trucking like it was no big deal. The kids were all running ahead, the other moms were just walking along and chatting away, and I was just focusing on trying not to sound like I was huffing and puffing and two steps away from dying. It was the worst." That was an embarrassing afternoon. I think we went about 1/4 of a mile and it was pure torture. But now I'm down 75 pounds and yesterday I went back to that mountain with my son and his Cub Scout den. I conquered that mountain!! We hiked about 3 miles and I kept up with the group and was only out of breath on one particularly steep part! I felt awesome when I got to the top! Hiking is so not my thing and I didn't enjoy it at all but I did it!

I don't like most premade Protein shakes but I do love my Shakeology vanilla with a little fruit in it. Now I might have to try a little pumpkin since someone mentioned it. I like the Shakeology because it has so many other nutrients besides just Protein so I feel like I've covered my bases on my first meal of the day. I do still take my recommended Vitamins as well. Long Division-Let's just say I stopped understanding math when the alphabet decided to get involved. 49ers- It just not as fun making fun of them without Harbaugh. Go Hawks NSV-I sold all my XL Seahawks Jerseys and bought new one's in size Small. ~LA

While my wife & I were getting ready for work this morning, I double checked the weather. Looked like it was going to be a chilly day here in Ohio. I grabbed one of my new-to-me fleece sweaters that I picked up at the local thrift store. My wife grabbed one as well and to her dismay she discovered she could not wear it because it was too small for her. The days of my wife stealing my clothes are finally at an end!

I couldn't buy the cute sweater dress that I wanted today, because they didn't have the size I needed... SMALL! A great NSV, for sure, but I still want the dress. Guess I'm ordering online.

NSV and SV - but the NSV felt better!
Redsfan19 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I hit the century club this week (Over 100 lbs down about 8 months out from surgery), but more important than that, I just got back from vacation in Hawaii. A year ago, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it nearly as much as I did this year. This year, the humidity didn't bother me nearly as much as it would have in the past, because I felt comfortable in shorts and dresses and swimsuits, much more than I did 100 lbs ago! I'm still technically obese, but I feel SO much better in my own skin. Also, during a hike, rather than stopping and sweating and wheezing, I was able to hike up steps without gasping for breath or wanting to sit on the ground. I know people debating the surgery worry about exactly how much weight they'll lose and whether they'll be able to wear a two piece swimsuit, but even if I don't get into a bikini I have no regrets for the life my successful surgery has let me live to the fullest. The numbers on the scale pale in comparison to that! Best of luck to those of you struggling through tough days pre or post surgery - better days are ahead! -
Follow up to this thread, I did discuss with my sleep doctor and he agreed that I can get rid of the cpap! What a huge NSV!!
