Anyone else sleeved Monday may 20
TisB replied to sissytx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you! I was just talking to my Hubby about that. At my one week check up I was fine so he didn't put me on anything. I am going to call him in the AM to see if that would be something that would help. I am crossing my fingers that is what the problem is. It driving me crazy I am sure it is louder to me than anyone else but I feel like my throat is always making noise now. For the first time after surgery I ended up getting sick and I did not like that! Not to give to much TMI it was very acidy tasting so I think your thought is right on the money. -
2 week liquid preop diet
DesertGirl replied to DesertGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMI alert: I pee all the time! It's so annoying. I'm drinking probably 100+ ounces of fluid a day. I try to hold it and go every hour, but today I had to go every 10 minutes. I felt pregnant again. How about you guys? Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app -
This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

Blech... Do you suppose they rinse off the tongs before putting them back in the kitchen drawer? Immediate POST OP Hygeine question (possible TMI) And here, the poor doc is trying to warn her but does she listen? so, please be honest with me about this -
All I want to do is cheat on my diet
NovaLuna replied to 90’schild's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with that. After surgery you may not be able to digest that. I can't have xanthan gum it messes with my stomach and... well, it's TMI, but it gives me gas and diarrhea. Before surgery I had no issue. Now I avoid it like the plague! They're post op so they may want to approach it with caution... -
4 Things I Wish I Would've Known Pre Op
mschlegel replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Negatives: 1. I wish I had known that two Fiber chews a day would have stopped all my pain earlier! I'm good to go now. Take fiber!! 2. I wish I had known how tired I would be the first three weeks. Once past that all gets better. 3. I wish I had known that I really needed to work on my mental thoughts about food too. I focused on portions. Now 7 months out I have major head hunger. Not really hungry EVER but my mind thinks I should snack all day. Constant challenge 4. Wish I had known about this surgery sooner. People need to talk more!! 5. I wish I had known how challenging it really is to wait 30 mins before and after eating Pros 1. I feel amazing 2. I feel sexy 3. Happily married but guys consistently gives me looks and it's awesome! Lol 4. Sex = Amazing TMI sorry, don't want people to miss out on the truth! 5. Buying clothes is so rewarding 6. I've saved three friends by speaking up about the surgery and helping through the process - for the surgery because I told them about my experience 7. My dad is alive and had the surgery after me - he was anti surgery until he saw my success 8. I enjoy healthy foods that I would have never eaten before 9. No more blood pressure issues 10. No more sleep apnea 11. Size 20 to 6 I could literally go on and on! -
first stuck episode?
illuminationlady replied to trishfish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The longest "stuck" episode I've ever had was about 2 hours. Usually it only last about 15-30 min. I have been stuck before and excused myself to the bathroom, bent over the sink, PB'd, and returned to the table right away before but that's rare. Everyone has done a fine job of describing how it feels so I won't repeat the information but I usually "slime" a lot when I'm stuck too. I know, TMI, but it's a big part of the whole show! The best advice I can give you is to not drink anything, do not panic and know that it will pass. After being stuck you should do liquids for a day because you are swollen. Best wishes on your journey. -
I used to have the gag reflex. Sorry this is TMI but if you keep a pepsemint candy or altoid in your mouth you create good saliva and the gag refles is eiter gone or lessened. Hope that was not too much. lol But if you like doing it this helps.

I can finally fit my wedding ring back on! I haven’t worn it in 5+ years!! Still doing well. I thought I really tweaked a muscle because I was having rough consistent pain in my abdomen. I just laid on my side and let out a huge fart (TMI, sorry!) and now I feel so much better! So I went ahead and took a Gas-X and I’m sipping some decaf peppermint tea now.

Am I getting enough protein/fluids
Shalon replied to Deliah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been wondering the same thing. How do I know if I am getting enough fluids? I am not near 64 oz, but I am drinking and peeing constantly (TMI) I'm jealous you are able to consume all that. I am only allowed one Protein shake per day and as many liquids as I want. I don't feel like I am getting enough calories as my shake is 30g of protein but only 160 calories. This morning my husband bought me a sweet tea from McDonalds not realizing I couldn't drink it, he was trying to be helpful. I filled a 32 oz glass 3/4 with Water and the rest with tea and so far so good. I'm hoping this will make fluids a little easier and give me some additional calories. I'll be following your thread to see what the more experienced sleevers have to say. -
Extended-Mini Thigh Lift & Belt Lift 7/11/16
AvaFern replied to amazon's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@@amazon Good for you! What is an extended mini thigh lift? Lol, I had the mini thigh lift, which is the groin incision one and I thought the extended one was the one that went down to your knee, so have they figured out a way to extend it without going all the way to your knee? Of the plastics that I have had, the thigh lift is probably the one that gave me the least awesome results because I didn't want the scar to go to my knee. In hindsight, I'm still not sure if I made the right choice on having that version done or not, but after almost a year of recovery from three plastics procedures, I am so totally over them for awhile. I also had the back of the 360 done and this with my thigh lift was probably my worst procedure, if mostly because it was the one I ended up having the most annoying complications. The first day I was laying on my couch (which thankfully was covered in those adult puppy pad bed wetting things since I learned from past experience incisions leak) and I got up and it look like someone had been murdered. My entire back incision line was still bleeding. Then the midline separated, leaving my a nice gap in the middle of my back which had to be closed twice, then I got a whopping infection in the middle of scar on one side of my butt, which took 6 months to heal and left me with a hole that literally I could fit most of my hand into. Now it's just a scar and it looks like I got shot in the butt, lol. So, I'm telling you all of this because it was all worth it. I would still get the procedure again even if I knew the disaster it was going to end up being for 6 months. The misery was worth it. Oh and one more thing, have you read up on care for the thigh incisions? The trick to keeping those from getting infected is to keep them clean and dry. You only have to do it for about 2-3 weeks, but everytime I went to the bathroom I cleaned all of the incision line with wipes, a clean wet towel, and then I used a blow dryer on the cold setting on top of that. Truly gross sounding so apologies if that's TMI, but my incisions healed perfectly. Good luck! -
List your NSV's here!

I hope this isn't too TMI, but sexy times are better without all of the extra padding blocking important kinds of stimulation, if you get my drift. -
I've been taking Gabapentin for 12 yrs. Its also used for nerve pain. I take 1200mg 3x a day. When I first. Started taking it it made me feel like I was living in a dream. Not anymore. My dr told me to continue everytning but birth control pills. They increase my chance of blood clots. Btw (probly tmi): condoms suck!!!

I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
KristiP replied to BrickHouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMI WARNING!!: Yeah I haven't seen my hooey (borrowed that nickname from Scrubs ) without mirror assistance for a loooong time. hope to lose a lt of fat from that area - sorry, but honestly, when I'm just in underwear and looking in the mirror it looks like I've got a Cornish game hen in my underpants! It's embarrassing to look like I've got more junk than my husband! I wear "shape wear" to flatten it out, and any other areas that benefit are just bonus. I mean you know you've got a problem when you have a camel toe while wearing a skirt! (ok, just exaggerating on that one but still......) I hate probably 98% of my body - abdominal rolls, side rolls, back rolls, neck rolls, gigantic double chin, sagging belly apron, huge arms, back boobs, under arm boobs, fat and flabby thighs, huge calves....the list is almost endless, but my, uh.....well, my crotch is my biggest issue, the part of me I hate the most. I refuse to go to the gyno simply because of it. I'm too mortified, and I don't care what anyone says about how they see it all. See my surgeon on Monday to discuss my surgery on 7 Jan. Woohoo! Can't wait to get my stomach 85% removed! -
Sept date I am all set
SleeveMe247 replied to chas4022's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey September Sleevers, just wanted to update you guys. Tomorrow makes one week post op. I'm gonna ease my way into full liquids, starting with some Soup for dinner. TMI, but still haven't had a bowel movement, not sure if this is normal or not considering I've only been consuming liquids, but I've been drinking Water like crazy! I would imagine well over 64oz of water alone plus my Protein. It's been hot in LA, so I've been drinking tons of water. My urine is almost clear so I'm nowhere near dehydrated. It's still been a struggle to get in the protein. I had about 40-50grams yesterday between the shakes, and my mom used two of my premier vanilla Protein Shakes from costco and made me some sugar free vanilla pudding out of it. The concept was splendid although it was kinda thick, so I didn't want to eat much of it yesterday, but I'll try more today. I weighed myself and I'm officially in the two's again! I'm 298, which is awesome considering my starting weight was 343 in April. I was 301 the day of my surgery, 310 two days after, so the excess water weight is finally gone plus a few extra pounds, so I'm ecstatic! I would be highly pleased if I made it to 280 by the end of the month, but I'm not putting pressure on myself. I'm still having pain in the incision site where they removed everything, but otherwise I'm feeling better overall. I'm planning to start a new thread called "things you didn't expect during your first month post-op" because I've already had some experience unexpected and I think it would be helpful if we shared them with each other. We can post them here too, but I'm also wanting to hear from people who've been sleeved for a while too, as they can help us be better prepared going into our first month. Anyways, I'm still alive and well guys...carry on ????????????✌????️ -
Oh and in the interest of TMI, I HATE the slapping sound of by flaccid stomach against the top of my thighs. It's horrifying.

This is probably a little TMI but I'll just say it lol so I was feeling horrible after eating a few crackers so I made myself throw up. The only weird thing was is that I only threw up clear looking liquid.. Is this normal. Please do not judge me for making myself throw up. I sat here for almost 2 hours with no relief after walking and trying other things to make the feeling pass. pre surgery weight 310 • RNY 6/20/2012 • current weight 280

Over 12 Months Post-Op - Progress Made but still looking for Support?
nysleeve posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello to anyone bothering to read this, My "story" may be unusual. I am already one year and twenty days out from surgery/post-op. I have never really looked into blogs, etc. until now. My weight on surgery day (12/24/2014) was 217 lbs and my current weight is 156.8 lbs (I am a little bloated from PMS, sorry if that's TMI lol)! Things generally are going fine and well. My doctor has been thrilled, saying I have lost the highest threshhold of "excess weight" typical for the sleeve procedure. I am now in the "normal" BMI range, although on the higher end to be fair. So, I guess I am writing to see, if I am nuts. My MD/nutritionist/other surgery support team have in a very tactiful way, that I probably should not anticipate losing any more weight. But, in a perfect world, I would like to be a little further down in the margin for my height (5'6.5"), so closer to 140 lbs. Is this unrealistic? Does anyone who is further along in their weight loss/surgery process have any insight? Has anyone lost *that* much of their overall body weight? Notwithstanding some little extra tastes along the way of the holidays and a slight execise slowdown for that time frame, I am just trying to consistently stay active at the gym at least three days per week and eat lots of protein/take those Vitamins. If anyone has any tips/thoughts/etc. for these last 16 (ish) pounds in my push, I am very open! Have a nice day! -
July 22 surgery date - Revision from VSG to RNY
Tomo replied to relaxrelaterelease's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Yes, yes be happy hehe. I didn't have the problem till I hit solids so beware. 😅 So far I'm not a "dumper" but man, do I get the foamies. I have learned something that may help me or anyone else in the future after a horrendous day the other day. Taking 3 of the mini tabs anti gas Mylanta helped me tremendously. I had thought food was still stuck in my stoma, even after I expelled the extra saliva many times (sorry TMI). But it was really gas pushing up from possibly old food in my pouch and making me (and unfortunately my body) think there was food stuck in my throat so my body kept making extra saliva. I read about that phenomenon which is why I thought I'd try the anti gas Mylanta tabs. It miraculously worked. -
