@@Pinkgirl1234 - I agree with you but NOT all women are catty, but some of us are VERY catty - and especially when it comes to weight gain or weight loss. just sayin' @@ididit34 - NSVs like wearing smaller pants are THE best and I remind myself a lot that even though the scale isn't showing huge loses the pants/shirts are getting smaller

NSV - Shopping at a Regular Store

How great is that! These are the best NSVs.
  5. I have had to order or have most of my clothes made for several years now. The last time I placed an online order for a sweater it turned out to be too big (even though I had measured a few weeks before). Today, I stopped at the local JC Penney and bought three sweaters a size smaller and they fit. This should tide me over through Christmas and New Years and I hope I can make it a couple of months before having to buy more since I don't mind sweaters that are a bit big. The next time I go in there I should be out of the Women's section, at least for my tops!

My 1 MONTH Post-Op Progress Report

WOW that is great results for the 1st month. 36 pounds is a huge loss and you have had a lot of NSV as well. Many of which I also hope to achieve with the sleeve whenever my surgery date is going to be. Thanks so much! I appreciate it!!

  8. I went to eat dinner with the family after church for my son's birthday and they seated us in the dreaded booth! I squeezed myself in there the best way I could and just sat there thinking that much longer this won't be an issue . I might as well go ahead and share my most modifying moment of being obese while I'm at it. We went to an amusement park and I got on the ride. I kid you not, I had 1 of the workers in the front coaching me to "suck it in" while 2 other workers was in the back holding on to the seat as support. I was so embarrassed and not only that but I was uncomfortable the whole time the ride was going from not being able to breath and having my mid section stuffed in that ride. I won't know how to act when I am able to get in a ride and not worry about embarrassing myself or my family. Those are just a couple of NSV's I'm looking forward to!! Not sure what compelled me to share this but maybe some of you can relate...

    A year ago, I couldn't have...

I got a hysterical mental picture of that, Babbs! ???? Now THAT'S a great NSV. A year ago I couldn't run more than 30 seconds without feeling I would have a heart attack. Now I can run five minutes without any pain.

@@Kindle, How did I miss this post earlier this month? Thank you for the update on your progress. I always enjoy your posts. I am sorry for your losses in your brother and best friend. Perhaps the pain will lessen in time? But kudos on your NSV in not turning to alcohol and food to deal with the pain. I hope 2016 will be a good year for you.

  14. Hello! I just thought maybe I could share some of my post VSG surgery, with some of the NSVs that I've had so far in three months..! 1. I cannot believe how many jeans I can no longer use because they just don't fit me! They keep hanging and not even wearing a belt helps me much because it simply looks way oversized... I'm so glad that it means that I've been clearly losing weight, but now I have to buy many pair of jeans..! hahah 2. I used to be traumatized with my arms because I thought they looked too big and unflattering.. But thanks to the weight loss, I don't feel scared to use a sleeveless shirt or dress anymore.., even a sort of skin rash I used to have is now gone!<3 3. Huge confidence boost? I know I don't look like my very thin friends, but I feel so comfortable in my skin that I cannot help but to be so happy and optimistic! I will keep losing weight and hopefully I will eventually accept how my new me looks like and move on from the idea that I still look like old me.. I am so delighted with my results.. Hopefully more NSVs will keep arriving<3

  16. Today's NSV - work up this morning and just wanted to stay in the bed. It's damp and rainy, I wanted to snuggle under the covers. However this is a big gym day. 9 am aquafit, then 11 am silver sneakers. So I got up & made both classes. By 1 pm as I was running errands I realized how good I felt and I was really happy I got my self up and went. Some days you just have to push through your natural inclination. Otherwise you never change old habits.

  17. I had my first NSV this week as well. We went to a college basketball game, I had been in the arena before and felt very crowded and stuffed into the seat, this week I sat down and slide right in, didn't feel stuffed at all, it was so nice and made the time so much more enjoyable!

    My first major NSV

One thing I love to do is go to candlelight church service on Christmas Eve; however, I haven't had a pair of pants that fit me in over a year. I have been too proud to buy bigger (actually much bigger) pants, so I thought I would just wait it out until I lost enough weight to fit into my smaller pants. Well, I didn't think it would happen this fast, but now only 4 weeks post-op I am again able to fit into my pants which were 8 sizes too small just 4 weeks ago!!!! YAY!!! I am so happy!!!

    NSV

While Christmas shopping last night with the hubby I saw a sweater that caught my eye. It was in an expensive store with an expensive price tag. I had previously made the decision to NOT buy any clothing (except from goodwill or cheap resale shops) while I lose weight. This is important to me since I am only a month out and 1) I wasn't sure I've lost enough to need new clothes and 2) What's the point of spending now when I plan to lose weight for several more months. So I walked with this sweater (regular ladies size xl) for like an hour (normally I am a 2x). I just wouldn't put it down. I finally found my husband and asked him to hold my stuff so I could try it on over my existing shirt. I pulled it over my head and before I even had it pulled down I was like "nope to small still". It wasn't even on yet and I was shooting it down. I finished pulling it down and it fit. Nicely. And my husband said "honey, that's definitely not to small, but it sure is ugly". LOL. I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I never did look in the mirror but he never says things like that so it must have been bad! Either way I felt good. I'm still chuckling.

Way back when I was pregnant, I bemoaned the fact that I never looked that way because my boobs stuck out further, not by much, but they did. ...now if I had just reminded myself to reverse that situation after the birth! That is a terrific NSV. Congrats!
  21. Go ahead and compare to me.... You won't be disappointed. 5 days up 11 pounds from surgery day. 11 days Weighed the same as surgery day. 6 weeks postp lost 17 pounds 7 weeks gained 3 pounds 10 weeks back to 17 pounds lost 12 weeks lost 25 pounds postop. As you can see, stalls and even gains are normal. Also notice that I only weighed myself 6 times in the first 3 months. scale numbers DO NOT MATTER. Just stay on plan, STAY OFF THE SCALE, embrace the NSVs and have fun!!!!
  22. Uh oh !!!! Someones been in the awesome sauce !!!! Congratulations !!! Great nsv ! Keep up the good work and pretty soon those pants will be falling off of you !! Woo hoo !!
  23. @@Sajijoma - NSVs like that are my FAVORITES! Hang on to 1 pair to look at, when you are having "a moment".
  24. That dreaded moment you are told you need to come to the trauma center to meet your spouse. It has been a rough couple of days. Hubby broke his C2 vertebrate which is right up underneath your skull. We are so blessed that he is not paralized. We spent days on the nuerology floor at our local trauma center. I didn't grab my vitamens or protien drinks (only 4 weeks post op)....I ate mushy protiens at the hosptial and took lots of walks to help with the stress. I know my vitaman levels will be a mess later this week at the dr, but I am proud of my self for not turning to food in a time where no one could blame me for doing it. Total NSV!

  25. I had rny on Nov 9th and as of today(yesterday actually) my pants that were a laughing stock and wouldn't go over my knees are now on my waist and closed! I tried them on last week and I could get them up but not closed and this week, they are closed! So excited! I changed out all of my clothes in my closet too and bagged and tagged the old stuff that is too big for the Goodwill! I have lost 1 pant size and 2 top sizes now! It's starting to get exciting!!! ☺️
