    Losing Too Much?

I was wondering the same thing but didnt want to ask and upset anyone! I had my surgery Oct 2 start weight 265 current weight is 233 In 2 weeks and 4 days!!! That's CRAZY!! Im following my Diet not exercising. I said I wasnt going to exercise till I hit my 3 week stall cuz Im losing too fast. My doctor says Im ok not to worry.
  2. You look amazing!!! Any tips? What have you been doing to make your weight loss awesome like it has been?I've done a lot of walking! At least 3 miles a day 5-7 days a week (depending on weather). And I've stuck with the plan, mostly Protein foods. I rarely eat any carbs (mostly a cracker to go with my cheese snack or a slice of whole grain toast for breakfast (this is rare). I don't think I get all my protein in - that's a daily battle. I'm going to try going back to my protein shake though and see if that helps. Loved them before surgery but afterwards I couldn't stand them. I never had a 3 week stall. I stalled one time for 10 days (due to weather and other things I didn't get to walk a lot which didn't help). But I also know I've done some things not right - occasional glass of wine - so I'm far from perfect. I honestly think I've just been very very lucky.About how many calories were you getting daily? I honestly have no idea. I eat an egg or string cheese for breakfast, then salad, grilled chicken, turkey hotdog or turkey sausage for lunch and dinner. This is what most of my meals look like. I have a snack of cheese with a cracker or some fruit. We do a lot of grilling out so I'm not sure what I'll do when it's winter. Ha! My goal this month is to get my protein up. everything has been going so smoothly with weightloss that I'm afraid to change anything up!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Hey everyone, I posted recently, but am always keeping track of the conversation and topics. So I kinda hit a stall and was discouraged, and on top off that I found out I had gallstones. Didn't even make it the scheduled MD appointmentto discuss treatment. I ended up in ER this weekend and had to have gallbladder surgically removed. Has anyone else had the gallbladder removed, and if so how was it afterwards? Could that have caused my 3 week stall prior? I am still tracking food and exercise, and based on that I should be losing weight. I try not to focus on that to much, but it is hard. Well I did just have a NSV, I was able to wear XLG scrubs..[emoji4] Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Hi Eloray! Sorry for the late reply. I'm doing good. I came to the dreaded 3 week stall but I think things are moving again as of this morning. How are you doing?

  5. Whoo Hoo! Down 5 lbs after a 3 week stall! Can't wait to see what I weigh tomorrow. :-)

  8. Less than 2 weeks away and I am preparing myself for it all. A very hard pre-op Day 1-3, The "What Did I Do To Myself" breakdown, the liquid-oh-how-I-hate-liquids rant, The dreaded 3 week stall, learning to eat again, not drinking while eating, and then looking back 5 months post-op and not regretting a thing. Sleeve Day in T-10 days

  9. I think that I am defiantely at the dreaded 3 week stall. I only lost .2 today. Hopefully I can break it next week when I start hitting the gym. I am kinda bummed about it but knowes that this is part of the process....

  14. The 3-week stall is real...no weight loss over the past 10 days! :(

Actually, Japan is like that too. I just read an article that says Japanese are the worst for taking any kind of paid vacation - less than 50% of what they are owed (which is about 2 weeks). Even school teachers don't get much holiday time, since they are often involved with sports and other club activities throughout the summer, plus PD. Luckily, I work at a private university, so I don't have to worry about things like that.

Really? So Japan isn't all great in that area either huh? Well, you enjoy your private institution then! If my work ends up becoming too stressful for me in any way, I will be leaving. So far, it's not. I'm a one man show these days with the bosses showing up occasionally. So it's good. But my husband carries all the weight anyway, I work to stay busy. :) Do you plan to stay in Japan indefinitely?

I'm not sure - probably (even though my Japanese is terrible). There's not much in terms of full-time work back home for teachers like me (all short-term (4 month) contracts). As long as I can keep getting long-term contracts with lots of vacation time, then I'll probably stay.

I feel your pain. Going through it now too. We've got to keep pushing. This too shall pass!

I thought I responded to you earlier, but yes, this stall is really terrible. On the bright side, unlike when I have dieted before, I can't quit now, so I just have to power through this stall.

  16. 3 weeks stalled :-( am eating about 800-1000 calories a day and exercising but no scale action. not losing inches either. i don't need a fill because i have good restriction so i don't know what else to try! trying not to lose hope.

  17. I had hit the 3 week stall and to break it I drank extra Water - a total of 90 ounces- and ate half a Protein shake 2-3 hours apart for 2 shakes and then a small dinner at home to keep my metabolism going. This seemed to take care of it. I reduced walking to 3 times a week because I was worried i was burning too many calories. She said to aim for 2-3 meals a day with nothing in between, she liked the water and told me not to worry about exercise to do as much as i want. Now a few weeks later my scale is still again- I hate to go against direct advice from her regarding how frequently I eat- and I did hurt my hip and exercise has been sporadic the last 2 weeks and that could be it...but I'd really appreciate hearing from everyone else what they are doing meal wise, exercise wise and water wise? Thank you!
  18. My doctor told me I shouldn't weigh myself until a month after surgery. I didn't listen of course & when I got home from the hospital, I was up almost 10 pounds! That took a week to go away (it was Water weight from surgery) & then during the 3rd week, I didn't lose a pound (very common. If you search 3 week stall, you'll find a ton of posts about this.) Let me just encourage you to not focus overly much on how much you lose this first month. It is not an indicator of how things are going to go for you. Plus, even if you only lose 10 pounds a month, in a year you will have lost 100 pounds! Just focus on eating how you are supposed to & letting your body heal. The weightloss will come! Krista

    One week out from surgery...

Congrats on the weight lost so far! You will do amazing if you stick to the plan. Protein first of course and get all your fluids in. Beware the 3 week stall, it always happens but inches still come off. If you haven't already do your measurements so you can see it happening when the scale doesn't move. Good luck!
  20. Hello, im 27y.o i got sleeved on 12/6 Sw 250 Cw 203 Its been almost 3 weeks and i havent been able to lose any weight, im scared this is it! When i do not go to the gym im working out at home. My doctor said i need to eat more Proteins bc im eating under my 70grams i get full quickly and i can only eat chicken or fish, bc the other meats are too hard for me. It hurts when it goes down so i tried to avoid them. I dont know what im doing wrong, also my hair started falling like crazy and for some reasons im having bad body odor (armpits...tmi) which it never happened to me since i was 12 So idk what to do next? What am i doing wrong? Im getting so discouraged like this is it?

6 weeks out and still in so much pain?

@@undeserving777 - that is horrible about the pain! It sounds like something did happen, glad you are seeing the surgeon to get to the bottom of it and hope you have some pain relief soon. I had pain until about a month out myself. Re: your weight loss, it sounds like you hit the stall that most of us get so remember it is normal to stall (on this site they call it the readed 3 week stall), it is your body's time to reorganize and let go. I was really worried too, now I am 5 months out and I find the stalls much more mangeable, and always I drop a lot quickly after they are over (although I realize that is easy for me to say now, but really, it gets easier). I just focus on high Protein (at least 80g for me), lots of Water and low carb and move my body and trust the process. There are lots of threads on here about stalls, slow losing etc if you want more info. Here is one I wrote to help me during the times my loss was slow or non-existent. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/345678-benefits-of-losing-weight-slower-than-expected/ Maybe something will resonate with you. Best of luck to you!

    Almost week three

Guys search for 3 week stall
  23. Hi all, I was sleeved 5 weeks ago(tomorrow). I have lost 19 lbs since surgery. I am hoping I am in the dreaded 3 week stall (for 2 weeks) and not messing up my chances of losing this weight. I have been getting the majority of my protein from protein drinks still and eating very small amounts of soft protein sources. I also have been eating ALOT of popsicles. Both sugarfree and regular. I didn't realize that the popsicles had 8 carbs each until I looked today. Would having my carb intake too high be causing me not to lose? I am getting in between 50 and 60 oz of water and 70+ grams of protein almost every day. I am starting to worry that my beloved popsicles are messing me up. Any words of wisdom would be so greatly appreciated. I started on myfitnesspal.com today as some other gals in my class are doing the same. I kept my calories just below 500 and my carbs were 22. I try to exercise every day but this past week has been pretty spotty. Usually I swim a mile. I am getting scared...is all this surgery and recovery going to be worth it?? I had the sleeve and then 9 days later I had to have my gallbladder out so it has been a slow recovery. I still don't have all my energy back but it is getting better. Thank you all for the encouragement, wisdom and help!!! We newbies REALLY appreciate it!

  25. I just heard about a week 3 stall on weight loss, is that true? I have been at the same weight for about 10 days and am just wondering.
