. That's Awesome!! you don't feel nothing like if you wanted to go back to work would you go at this stage ? . That's Awesome!! you don't feel nothing like if you wanted to go back to work would you go at this stage ? I could go back to work now, because my work requires no lifting. However I didn't want to go to work right away because I had no idea how my recovery would be and also because I didn't want to be going through the food stages at work. I rather be at home when I'm trying new foods because you never know how your stomach is going to react to them. For example (TMI coming) that little bit of peanut butter I had yesterday sent me straight to the bathroom. LOL... You are almost there How is the pre op diet going? -
Same here I have tried tuna fish, salmon, and chicken all very moist and flaky but I can't tolerate it at this point. A little TMI but yesterday I tossed my cookies after trying to eat some chicken and broccoli. I think I may just give up on meat in general for now. It really is not a good feeling.

However, I have had 3 blisters pop up under my steri strips & had to go in to dr to make sure there is no infection on my incisions! The blisters are under the tape away f/ the incisions... TMI ALERT! I have had 2 # 2's...in my week post op! ???? I just started walking yesterday & I'm only walking 1 mile a day! Not fast at all more like a cool stroll! There ya go! How are you doing?

So, Monday was my 30th wedding anniversary. I'm proud of living and loving through thirty years, and I have a pretty wonderful husband and marriage and two wonderful adult daughters. However, this anniversary really pissed me off and I have to rant a bit. Feedback welcome even though this is a venting sorta rant. I knew he had no idea for a gift when he asked what the 'traditional' gifts were for that marker - so over lunch one day we looked them up; pearls or diamond. Fine - but I don't expect either of those really. Then I suggested since our anniversary falls during my busy work time, that we plan to take a little three day trip somewhere when we can both get away, and he liked that idea--in that way that says 'sure - if you'll plan it I'll go. Okay...fine. Our anniversary rolls around a week later and I haven't heard form him all morning about any plans, so I ask where we might go for dinner to Celebrate, not especially feeling like cooking too on top of super busy week. He really didn't have any suggestions, except to agree when I suggested something - so I sent him a link to a place and he made a reservation. He comes home and while nearly EVERY other year on our anniversary he's brought flowers, even sometimes the ones he proposed with, this time; nada. Then he goes out for a bit walking to the store nearby and comes home with pink tulips. Nice thought--however late it was. Not my fave color, but i like tulips and tell him so. We put them in a vase and head out to dinner. At dinner, I give him a card and a nice gift (new Fitbit which he'd said he'd like someday). He thanks me, and says he didn't really do anything for me but thought maybe later there would be something I'd need for surgery that I could pick out. (Really?! after 30 years of marriage that would be what - a pair of sweatpants?!) I say it's okay - and that really there's nothing I need for surgery. After dinner we took a walk at my nudging, did a hill climb of stairs to see a nice view, headed home and made love (sorry if TMI here). Still nothing to acknowledge the anniversary really. No card, no little thought gift, zip. Now I get that i'm huge (285) and have been for far too long. I get that he's like a 'more active intimate life' but once a week is about all I can handle feeling so big. I get that I let him off the hook some with the idea of a later trip. But hello; I do more than my share of keeping this marriage rolling, I earn half the income, I work more hours, and I still cook most of the meals. Why the h*ll couldn't he have at least written a crummy card or something?! Damn!! I've been thinking another thirty years together was something to look forward to, but this really felt lousy. End of rant. Kate

Hey guys! I know this is probably TMI, but I haven't pooped in like 5 days. My doc said to drink milk of magnesia, but I'm not sure if I could stomach it. Is it safe to take something like dulcolax? I'm kinda miserable...any tips would be nice! I'm about 2 months out.

I re-started at around 4 months post-op . No regrets - love my coffee!!!! It definitely helps with my fluid intake and " regularity" ( sorry tmi)

OK quick update. This surgery has totally played around w my menstrual cycle. Last month I totally lost my period (sorry for the Tmi) I guess the anxiety etc. And now it arrived 2 weeks early. So on top of dealing w my bloated tummy now I have menstrual cramps. But I will look at the positive side, I've read people always lose after their TOM. I can't wait for the pounds to start coming off. -

So today is post-op day 3. Last night wasn't bad. I kept waking up but not bad. I have a mini goal of drinking at least drinking 32oz of liquids. So to meet my goal I had that bottle of water next to me all night and every time I woke up I zip zip zip. Well let me tell u I should have slow down with the zip zip zip. Because all of a sudden I felt nausea and it was horrible I was so afraid of the pain it would cause. I sat down w the bucket in front of me and Thank God it passed. Always have a bucket near. Lol Another thing make sure u have ready at home a stool softener ( sorry TMI) because the meds will give u constipation. I will take one today because that's another pain I'm trying to avoid. I got on the scale and I gained 5 pounds (I'm sure of gas and the IV etc) but I'm not worried because I know that's the norm. So I'm at 242. I thought I'd never say this but burping and passing gas make me happy. Lmao. I must say my Dr Dr did a great job. Even the leak test when I asked when will they do it I was told he does it while u are still in the operating room. So if u are in the Chicago area Dr Enrique Elli is strongly recommended. Well time for nap. Ttyl. -
I'm one day post op and have been experiencing the same thing. Not much pain mod nausea. Anytime I drink or try to eat a popsicle. However I have been to the bathroom and did# 2. Yay sorry if TMI!!

I see so many people for 4/23 including myself.. Anyone else feel like this is so surreal? I sometimes have to remind myself of my decision to do this. I am on my 2 week diet and my dr's office does it strict protein shake for 2 weeks, with other liquids but no food. I haven't been handling this so good, and cheated twice with just another protein (eggs, and piece of cheese). I got my period (i know TMI) and I think that is making it worse for me, the headaches are sooo bad, and I'm so moody. Let's keep this thread going so we can all follow each other's progress. Also I understand that if I"m struggling now, how will I handle after surgery questions.. But my logic is after surgery I won't be physically hungry. I mean I'm starving. Good luck to us all!!!

Hi everyone, I have read all the posts since beginning and lissa you are such an inspiration. You have such a beautiful soul and are always positive. I had my surgery on 4th march and no real problems here. Tmi moment ... I am constipated all the time and dietician says to take laxatives every four days. I'm sure I'll be ok once I can eat fruit and veggies. I have lost 18 kilos since preop so I'm now 112kg. I still have only told 5 people and I might tell more closer to goal. I'm thinking 70 kgs which feels like it would be impossible. Good wishes to all the preop people and everyone post xxxx -

I know I really should have all this cleared up, I just want my surgery to happen.. I have been preparing for this forever. Upset stomach - three days post op
jkppt replied to crittyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 4/3 and the diarrhea started at the hospital and between the day I came home and the following day I had 12 episodes. Each day brings less episodes but when I called the surgeon the PA said not to worry unless there are more then 15 episodes. I trusted her judgement and have been having less and less. Just make sure you are keeping hydrated. She said as long as your urine is not getting darker or more concentrated you should be ok. Also you are not taking in anything solid so you cannot expect any solid to come out. Sorry if that was TMI. Good luck! -
I hate posting this but want some feedback. I have been on a south beach style pre-op diet and doing shakes and notice my stools are looser. And I am going more. Has this happened to anyone else?

April 2014 pre-op group
jkppt replied to KristinaRnY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just checking in. Had the band removed and a conversion to a bypass on Thursday 4/3. Feeling so much more human today. Pain is rapidly going away. I am taking liquid Percocet just 2 x a day now. All the fluid I gained at the hospital is also going away.... Very slowly. Trying to keep up with the fluids. That is the hardest part. My day consists of drinking and going to the bathroom. Sorry if that is TMI. I go to the surgeon on Thursday to get the drain out. The drain just freaks my husband out. He cannot get his mind around a tube that is sewn into you and is supposed to leak out stuff. Needless to say I handling my own dressing changes. Wishing all who have had surgery speedy recovery and for those anticipating surgery best wishes!! -
Hey everyone, my name is Kris and my surgery date is 4-28-14. I have had at least 2 panic attacks this month but I am breathing and seriously thinking about all the positives instead of the negatives. I recently was in the doctors/hospital due to my stomach hurting and TMI I know but also bowel movement issues from the hospitals report. I need more fiber in my diet. I'm scared, anxious, and excited. It's weird but I know this is the beginning of my new like. The Pre-op diet is going well. I only have to do a one day liquid dirt but I am shooting for 2 days. I've lost 4 pounds in the last 2-3weeks. It's little but hey it's an accomplishment! I hope everyone keeps in touch and we can help each other through this wonderful support system.

So in sticking with my plan for the last three weeks, it was Friday morning and "weigh day". I was happy to see another 3 lb. loss to make 40 in 6 weeks. Then I took my measurements as I have done on weigh day and compared them with pre op measurements. I have lost 23 inches!!! I felt so good about me, that after hiding my body from my husband for about a year or so, I walked from the bedroom to the clothes hamper in the utility room stark naked twice!!! He just smiled and asked me if this was a parade or an invite!!! LOL

Post sleeve and head hunger -- what is it like for you?
danaevett replied to Skywalker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one month post op and I do have hunger. It seems to be real hunger because I can tell the difference between head hunger and real hunger. Apparently I'm not one of the lucky ones who doesn't experience hunger anymore. Oh well. It hasn't slowed me down any. I've lost 23 pounds so far. The biggest problem I've had so far is over eating. I can't eat very much but my head thinks I can. I find myself putting way too much on my plate. (Just like pre-op.) I am learning to recognize the feeling of me starting to get full. If I take it slow, and only take small bites, I can manage pretty well. If I don't, and I get too full, it feels like the food has filled up my stomach as well as my lower esophagus. That is not a pleasant feeling. Several times my mouth has started watering profusely and I have had to throw up. It's interesting though, I only throw up a small amount and it seems to only be the food in my lower esophagus. It doesn't empty my stomach. Just enough that I feel better. Sorry for the TMI. Hope this helps. -
Looking for Plastic Surgeon in Bergen County, NJ or NYC
LumpySpacePrincess posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hello! I'm a little over halfway to my goal, and now is the time I want to start thinking about the possibility of plastics in the future. I am looking for recommendations for plastic surgeons in the Bergen County NJ/NYC/Westchester area that you have had good experience with. I will be looking for a panni (no tummy tuck, just skin/fat removal), maybe a little bit of lipo on my legs, breast lift/reshape (no implants), and possibly a thigh lift. I'd also like to get a lower eyelid lift to get rid of my dark circles, but that's optional. Also, not to be TMI but is lipo on the pubic mound a thing?? If so, I might consider that also. I am starting to look now because I want to be prepared for the price when I'm ready to go into this. I'm hoping I won't need it, but in case I do, I'd like to have all the info I can! Thank you in advance!! -
My EVERYTHING itches!
Rena's got this replied to crysclev's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow...I'm glad you posted about this. Prepare for TMI. I am 5 weeks out and for the past two weeks have had a lot of itching. The itching is only in my pubic area though. There is absolutely no itching within, only on the outer skin. I've tried putting powder on it, using benadryl cream, using hydrocortisone cream...even very hot water, which always worked whenever I've had poison ivy. All of these will work for about 8 hours, then the itching starts up again. I am going to bring it up with my surgeon when I go in in a week. When I had my wisdom teeth out, the doc warned me about the anesthesia. He said I would feel intense itching in my pubic area just before I went unconscious. He was right. It was a strong itch, and it is in the same area that I'm itching now, so I'm also wondering if it is a delayed reaction to the anesthesia like someone else posted. This is not an area you want to scratch in public...lol. -
