31 lbs yay!! That's awesome. and to answer your question, you probably already have some fluid in your band, but all docs do it different. my doc put 2cc in when i had the surgery. but the tighter your band gets yes you will most def continue to lose at a good pace. but, not to bust your bubble, your probably losing really good right now because you haven't eaten much but liquids and mushies! for me, it got harder when i was able to eat regular food, because you don't have much restriction in the beginning, you'll catch yourself wanting to overeat. just see how you feel after your first fill. who knows, you might have great restriction after the first fill!
I did go walking today with my lab. We jogged two blocks! And I almost passed out! haha
Off to my hair appt!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the comment to my blog and I have often wondered what things would be like if I had not shared my surgery with my brothers and sisters, but I know that eventually they would have figured it out and confronted me, my weight loss was so drastic and I have lost so much. I have tried for years and years and years and had no success, so they would have been very curious as to how I could do so well. I wish you the best of luck with your weightloss journey. You are sure to do well!

Restriction is when you can eat a small amount and feel full. I think this 3rd fill which puts me at 6.7cc may do the trick. I hope. I noticed last night I ate a small plate of food and was full. Although I was hungry again about 3 hours later. They say it should keep you full for 5 hours. So I may need to get another fill next week. I am going to wait and see how this week goes. I can actually feel it working for once. Meaning I am not hungry as much and little amounts of food get me full. Still not at that point where some can eat only 5 bites and are full. But I am working on it. I just want to see some loss. I think that will help modivate me. I think you will know when you hit that sweet spot. You won't be hungry and get full on a little amount of food. I know we will get there soon.

Hi. I wish they would let me do a diet like that with real food! Mine is putting me on a liquid diet called Optifast. It's 5 shakes a day...period. I hear the first few days are hell, but afterward it gets better. 2 weeks of that! Yikes! But I also hear that you can lose up to 20 lbs. on the liquid diet! It would be a good head start to the weight loss. Then I have to be on the liquid diet for 1 more week after the surgery. Good luck with your diet and keep in touch...we will need support during this week! Take care!

Continued...Maybe the one that inspired you to have the band surgrey!! When you first see the scales move down you will be excited. But sometimes weeks pass and their isn't much of a number loss. These pictures will keep you inspired. When I lost my 50 pounds, I knew I felt better and I was excited about losing this weight. However, I was still a plus size and it is difficult to see the difference. I know that sounds strange but I never really saw how big I was and I am now shocked at the difference I see. So when I get stuck at weight for a long time I can look at my before pictures and then at my now pictures and it makes me feel soooo good. Sometimes when my weight isn't changing I am still losing inches. I do really recommend you taking that before picture. Some place in your house where you can repeat the pose in a couple of monthes ... to get a good comparison. It will help inspire you thru the tough times!

Kelli,
So glad to hear you are doing good! After my 1 wk post-op my doctor told me to start on regular foods. So, I did but ate a lot of mashed potatoes and soft stuff and finished up some baby food fruits I had bought for the pureed part. So far, so good. I have only lost 1.5 pounds since then. I haven't started exercising yet but am going to this weekend - treadmill. That will speed up the loss greatly for me. Keep me posted...Laura

Hi!
I have to admit that this preop diet has been the hardest thing I have ever done! But I am still hanging in there and doing pretty good! I know, I worry about the liver thing too, but I am trying to keep a positive outlook about it. I am excited about the surgery and also nervous. At my last check, I had lost 8 lbs. in about a week! But the weight loss is kind of secondary to me right now simply b/c getting used to this new lifestyle has been really hard. I beleive it will be worth it in the end! We are going to have our bands soon and be losing weight and looking hot before you know it!!! : )))
Hang in there and keep your eye on the ball!!!

Hi Paty....long time no chat! I just recently found this site again and am glad I did. I was banded mid July and have lost 25 pounds total! I am not real happy with my results and find that candy, ice cream and crap can go down pretty easily! This was always my weak spot. I need to re evaluate things and get focused again. I was a little depressed over the lack of weight loss but am realizing now that it is what it is and only I can change things. How are you doing with your journey? Hope all is well.

Hey Shaggs,
It is a small world. My brother lives on Weston Rd close to Panania station, and I lived at Mick Maulins, or at least it felt like it!
I'm pretty discouraged at the moment. Have only lost 200g in 2 weeks!! i was so caught up with how much I lost on Optivile and in the first week that I am not coping with the minute loss!! Am trying to be good this week to get a better result at my first appoint with surgeon next week. This is such a roller coaster of a ride... but according to everyone on here it is worth it. I'm scared that I am going to sabotage myself like i have every other time....b lah blah blah enough of that.
Not long to go fo ryou now!!! Good luck with the Optivile. I was good for a week and then couldnt stand the hunger anymore...but i am sure u will be fine!!!
Keep me in the loop on how u r going.
talk soon
