AngelicHG7 Maybe I'll stick with Carnation Breakfast It was bad and my protein drinks. I made a shake with the triple chocolate powder, Silk dark chocolate milk,Hershey powder (zero sugar),sugar-free Hershey syrup(I used the regular before it got serious) and ice. It was pretty good. How is that protein? Genepro I was going to order that as well. I believe that it hold up better than Unjury unflavored. -
Protein Powder Struggles - I found relief
Danny'sGirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just over 2 weeks post-op and have really struggled to get all my protein in because I dislike the taste of the protein drinks and powder. So I ordered a powder recommended on one of the boards and it arrived yesterday. I love it! At 11 am, I already have 67g of protein. I had one scoop in my V-8 and a second scoop in my Crystal Light. I can't taste it nor did it change the texture of the drink. It's called Genepro and I ordered it directly from the manufacturer. -
Fluid Intake related to slow weight loss?
Paloma68 replied to MommyMeghan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every morning I have a Premier shake (30g Protein, available at Costco). I add GENEPRO protein (30g per scoop) which I add to my shake. This means that by Breakfast, I have 60g protein. I would rather have something else for b'fast, but this is a sure way of getting the minimum protein in. Everything else thru out the day is gravy. On weekends, I sometimes make my shake and drink a little thru out the day. I do this so I can have eggs and sausage or something else besides shakes for breakfast. As far as liquid intake, I use a straw. Dr. said not to, but read a thread that many people ignored this and no ill side effects. So I have been using a straw and feel fine... Really helps with the liquid intake. -
Opinions in Genepro protein powder?
Katcloudshepherd replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use it. I mix it with my coffee. I love the fact it dissolves easily and has very little taste. I'm going to get some celery, carrots and apples and use my Vitamix high speed blender to start juicing. I can add the GENEPRO and get Protein in the mix. I find it too hard to get my vegetables and fruit in since I eat protein first. I use the Genepro to get to my daily requirement of protein. I order it on Amazon. Blessings, Kathleen -
Opinions in Genepro protein powder?
Thinkingthinner1109 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have seen that others have mentioned it on here, it says there is 30 grams of protein in a tablespoon instead of a huge scoop and it mixes well in hot water and has no taste. 0 sugar and 1 carb. -
SCARED!

Thanks I just ordered some of the Genepro! -
I recently purchased Genepro from Amazon.com and so far I like it. It has no smell or taste. 1 tablespoon is 30 g protein. You can put on hot or cold liquids or mix in foods.

Protein shakes
shrinkingbytheminute replied to weightloss4liss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you TexasLady52!!! I just wrote a post on another feed begging for advice. I am sickened by the protein supplements. I have tried so many and can't stand them. An odorless, tasteless, minute amount is exactly what I need. I wish I could take a pill and be done with it. Anyway, I ordered this GenePro just now after reading your advice. I hope this works better for me. Again, thank you! -

GENEPRO http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I go by every morning to a shake shop....get a Chunky Monkey (35 grams of protein).....add a scoop of Genepro (30 grams of protein)....mid morning I fix a Crystal Light and add another scoop.....I already have 95 grams for the day!!! Contact the website....I understand that they will send you samples?? Also check this link out....it might be helpful: What You Need to Know Before and After Surgery https://www.allinahealth.org/ahs/bariatric.nsf/page/bariatric-manual-2010.pdf/$FILE/bariatric-manual-2010.pdf

I too never had a problem with protein shakes before the surgery.....I got where I could not choke one down and was averaging (if I was lucky) 30 grams of protein a day before I heard of Genepro. I tried ISOPURE and first thought they were great.....then I started adding Crystal light to them where I could drink them but they left such an after taste. I tried everything.....contact the website and they will send you a sample. -
Help ..how many calorie am i suppose to be eating?
Katcloudshepherd replied to fran2014's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
fran2014, If you are only getting 10 ounces of Water a day you are extremely dehydrated. PLEASE increase your intake of water. There are serious health consequences to dehydration. I don't count calories. I count water, minimum 64 ounces. Protein grams, a minimum of 60 grams. I find I have to supplement my daily protein with Protein powder or bars. I use a brand I ordered on Amazon called GENEPRO. It has no flavor and dissolves in hot or cold liquids. I put it in my coffee that I sip throughout the morning. I don't pay attention to fat. Some doctors require that. I eat so few calories a day--fat isn't a big deal to me. I know fat has more calories BUT it keeps me fuller longer. I keep my carbs to an absolute minimum to zero if I can. I don't' digest carbs well, the more I eat--the more I want. I keep sugar to as close to zero as possible. Again, I don't digest sugar well and it wrecks havoc on my blood sugar level and causes that crash if I eat too much. I do my darnedest to get enough sleep at night. I think this is often overlooked as a requirement to be able to loose weight. I don't make good food choices when I'm tired. I take a bariatric Multivitamin, 1/2 of an Iron tablet, calcium supplements and other Vitamins and supplements for my joint problems. I wish you the best but please, please get your water in. Blessings, Kathleen -
Clear liquids high in protein?
nonsenseprecious replied to walkinginfaith72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amazon sells an unflavored protein powder called Genepro (made by Musclegen). It's expensive, but the serving size is only a tablespoon (30 grams of protein), and you can mix it in pretty much anything. I have it in tea and Crystal Light, and now that I've started purees, I've also mixed it in with Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. It doesn't clump at all, and you can't even taste it. Good luck! -
flavorless protein powders?
JamieLogical replied to veeleexb's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'd feel slightly more confident about Genepro if they didn't have a giant grammatical error right there on their home page. I'm usually not the grammar police when it comes to something like a forum post or a tweet or whatever, but when it's on the home page of an allegedly professional website? -
Is it just me or does the rash of raves about Genepro Protein on this board lately sound very scripted? If you are shilling for the company you need to be open and above board. I have never tried the product and based on the red flags that go up when I read these "reviews" I won't be trying it. Does anyone else have a problem with this kind of covert marketing?
