Will I Ever Lose This Weight?

I just went through a 3 week stall Tabs. It was my first one...I had a way bigger BMI than yours.. I just now started back going downward..in fact the scale fluctuated up and down a pound or two for that 3 weeks and I was like.."Wth"...so I kept the course..exercise..eating correctly...and sure enough ...it's coming down again...hang in there...I think it's just the process our bodies have to get through to release the extra weight...very frustrating yea..but it will come off.

    Bye Bye 300

Congratulations!!! That is an amazing milestone to reach. I'm happy for you. I found going from 300 to 299 and from 200-199 to be a time of i know at least 2-3 week stalls. I finally didn't weigh for a week and boom I was there. An amazing accomplishment,
  4. So I was sleeved 3 weeks ago and after loosing almost a pound a day it appears I am at a stall. I haven't lost anything in four days. I know this is normal but does anybody have tricks that knock them out of a stall? It's so frustrating.
  5. please search 3 week stall on here. i believe it will make you feel much better...
  6. You've lost 18 pounds!! You should be proud!! J/K!!! Don't slap me, I couldn't resist. There is no doubt that this weight loss 'journey' 'ride' 'new life' (whatever you choose to call it) can be frustrating. You prob did hit the 3 week stall. Many people do. A couple other factors are in play here: How much total weight you need to lose; less weight = a slower process. Body fluids fluctuate so if you are weighing yourself daily you need to keep that in perspective. MANY of us feel in the beginning that something is wrong, or that we will be 'the one' that will go down in the history books as this surgery not working no matter what we do. If you are working your program, you WILL lose the weight. Some people lose it faster than others. People advise on here not to weight yourself daily as the number 1 most important tip. I don't agree. I think not comparing ourselves to others is number 1. You will lose it on your body's timeframe. Keep working the program. Protein, liquids, exercise= total success.

    120Lbs Unreasonable?

i started out by following my NUT's guidelines adamantly. pre-op, she gave me guidelines and the best thing i found to help was a program called ADVOCARE. NO, i am not promoting that program. i never used the shakes or supplements, but the recipes used in it were really close to her guides, so, i used recipes from the advocare site. i also started walking everyday. i started slow. first, 1/4 mile 2x a day, then 1/2 mile, etc. etc till i started walking about 2 miles a day. i was able to lose 50 pounds between april 1 and june 5. i got my sleeve on june 5. after i finished the complete suckfest of the liquid diet and moved on to the other fazes, i started researching different ideas for food because i had gotten bored with the advocare recipes. thank God, i discovered a site called http://www.emilybites.com/ the recipes on her site are a heaven send. it is real food. Good food. and there is so much there that my family doesn't get bored. i also use http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/ alot for ideas. anyway, after i healed up to the point that i could handle it, i started doing more exercise bike and moved on to cardio. now, my brother (who looks like a white vin diesel) designed a circuit training style workout for me. it takes 30 minutes 3 days a week. then on 1 day i do inclined treadmill for 30 min, and 1 day i do 30 min ex bike. i've been through 3 stalls now. a 1 week long, a 2 week long, and i just finished a 3 week stall. but, as long as we work for it, it will happen. i have to say that i owe a lot of my success to my wife and kids. they let me take over the kitchen and i only cook things that i am able to eat. my wife is happy because a) that means i do the grociery shopping and cooking, and ( since we are all being more active and eating better, she has lost 65 pounds just being my support. trust me. it takes work. but it can be done. we just needed a tool to help. finding food that is healthy and at the same time, does not suck, made all the difference in the world for me. that, and getting off of that stupid couch. you got this, you can do it too. and hey, if nothing else. i'm rooting for you! good luck

    I Dont Like Food Anymore

My surgery was 9/19 so I'm five weeks out too. I feel like the rest of you not enjoying food. I miss the flavor really. The 3 week stall has lasted 3 weeks too. I'm so close to onederland and cant get to it. Beyond frustrated. My dr is releasing me to work out on nov. 4th and I cant wait. Hopefully that will help. That burrito bowl from chipotle does sound good to try.
  9. Onederland!! For the first time in over ten years.....I am under 200!! It feels amazing!! Its been 8 weeks since surgery. I have lost a total of 40 pounds! If you wouldve asked me 4 weeks ago if it was worth going through the surgery...i wouldve said hell no. I had an issue where they thought my sleeve was too small. I couldnt hold anything down. They wanted to go in and "balloon" my stomach in order to stretch it. I decided not to do that and pushed through it. Im so glad i did. Eating is much easier and im losing the weight despite a 3 week stall! I just have to keep reminding myself that IT DOES GET EASIER. Just like veterean sleevers said it would. Pics to come later!

    Stalls:(

You'll know because over the course of the next week you should see regular weight loss. For many, this is the time when the weight just falls off, excluding the 3 week stall. As far as "how much", that's gonna depend on alot of factors. There is no set or normal amount. But you will see loss.

    Stalls:(

Read the link in my sig. It gives a good explanation of why we stall. The 3 week stall is very common and not much you can or should do about it. Just be calm and patient and it will break on its own very soon.
  16. Uve probably hit the dreaded 3 week stall. I'm 3 weeks out today. Stuck at 248. Although I'm weighing everyday so seeing stalls more often. Are u weighin everyday? I know I'm the pot calling the kettle black but try to weigh every week instead, probably will never see a stall

    Stalls:(

Most ppl go through the EXACT same thing. When I hit the famous "3 week" stall, it last for 2 weeks. It gets better! I'm down 55lbs in 3 months.....hang in there!
  18. I am so relieved after a 3 week stall the scale is finally moving. A little over 5 weeks out and I am now down 40 pounds... I still have A LONG ways to go, but after having a stall for 3 weeks and gaining a pound I was stressing out. I did have to see my Dr. Friday and they had to give me Water pills for the swelling in my ankles, but since I started taking them the scale is moving again. Thankfully. I did not want to go in for my 2nd month follow up and have gained weight. Stalls are frustrating and I know they are part of the process. Patience is very much needed during them. After talking with my nurse and getting some answers I felt a lot better. Sometimes I think the stress we put on ourselves during a stall can cause us to stall longer.... I hope that makes sense So I just had to share my excitement and for others that are going through it, you will get out of that first stall, even though at the time it seems like it may be never ending! Whew.. what a relief Also, today a few people at work have told me it looks like I am losing weight, only one of the people who said something to me knew I had surgery. So that made me feel good as well What a good start to a Monday!!

    Thanksgiving Day Challenge

I'm in! 6.18 surgery weight 266- 10.19.12 Current weight 195 Goal Weight - 180 by thanksgiving 15 lbs to loose I'm at - 3 week stall ughh Who else is at a stall
  21. Hey All, I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue I am. Today marks 5 weeks since I've had surgery. I know we get stalls, but I haven't lost anything since week 2. The past few days my ankles have been really swollen and my stomach is growling and I am constantly feeling hungry. It's not head hunger, its I feel my stomach gurgling because I'm hungry. I've even gained a few pounds. I am not overeating, I'm getting my Protein in and liquids. I feel like any liquid I drink is being retained. I am at about 700 calories a day.. under 40 carbs.. so I am doing exactly what the Nut advised... I am going to call my Dr first thing when they open, I have am h our or so... I'm just really concerned that maybe this isn't going to work for me. I've always done the right thing and have struggled my whole life with my weight no matter what I do... Really having a tough day with this today... it's the first one since surgery Any advise would be greatly appreciated... I feel a 3 week stall shouldn't be happening this early on..

Anyone Stall After Hitting The Gym?

Could it be the 3 week stall that coincidentally started around the time you started at the gym? I stalled for 2 weeks between the 3rd amd 4th weeks post-op. We're sleeve siblings, I was sleeved on the 28th too!

    Should I Be Worried?

Perhaps uping your protein intake and water will give you a boost. Just a little at a time. This could be your 3 week stall as well. It happens. you will lose weight and have that beautiful slim new body that's shouting out "SEXY."

How Long Did Your First Stall Last :(

Sounds like you are in the infamous 3 week stall period sweetie. Hang in there. This journey can be a long, arduous one... remember this mantra: THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Keep your eye on the goal, do what the guidelines say (I highly suggest "tweaking" these as a possible stall breaker: logging your intake {watch the caloric total}, exercise {60-90 mins a day), Water {min 64 oz} and focus on protein/keeping carbs low) and the weight loss will come. My most frustrating one was getting below 200. I wanted that 199 so stinking bad, lol. I think it lasted 3 weeks. Seemed like FOREVER grrrrr. When I get into stalls, I usually measure myself. Try focusing on something else like your measurements or how your clothes fit or where your activity level was before and after some loss, where it is now. Those are just as important milestones; however, we generally don't concentrate our focus on them. We look so much at the scale. Well put that scale away (I had to hide mine for a while and only allow it to be brought out once a week, I thankfully have a wonderful hubby who played that game with me lol). The weight loss will come, be patient, but be diligent in following the guidelines and I promise it will come. Best of luck to you! xxx
  25. So happy~ I am doing the happy dance this morning. My 3-week stall finally broke!! Down to 218.6. Concentrated on getting in all of my protein and water and it finally paid off :-)
