    November sleevers in Mexico?

Update: Day 5 Post Op The numbness in my abdomen is completely gone and now I feel the full effect of the surgery. I'm extremely sore but I'm able to get out of bed by myself and take a shower without assistance. I cannot dry myself off or bend over yet though. Riding in a car sucks. I managed to walk 1 mile today with a few breaks along the way. Today was the first day I met my protein and fluid requirement. Genepro is a lifesaver! I had a gas bubble trapped under my right ribcage today that took my breath away. I had my husband beating my back to try and break it up. I'm still very tired each day. I seem to have little spurts of energy but then I crash again. I'm hoping by Monday, one week out, I'll feel better. :-)

    1 Week Post-Op

Thank you!!! I have Genepro on my approved list as well so I'll try that one first. With so many different choices it's just hard to know where to even start, so a good review is always useful!

    Unjury vs Genepro?

The Genepro stuff will work just fine for "normal" non-WLS people who are already getting their maintenance level of protein from their diet (even the typical American crap diet is usually adequate on protein!) and doesn't mind making expensive urine.

    Unflavored protein

    I agree with genepro

    GENEPRO

I wanted to just say that I have been investgating GENEPRO about the protein. I went to 2 different studies and it is true. GENEPRO has 30grams of protein per serving. Which is 1 Tablespoon. If anyone is interested in the links just let me know. Have a great TUESDAY!!!

    Pre Op Run Down

Hello all you beautiful achievers. First I hope your day is going well. I am 6 days pre - op and obsessing over making the right decisions and having everything ready for when I come home. I will be having the gastric sleeve with hernia repair along with having my gallbladder removed next monday. I have yet to decide on a vitamin regimin. I wanted to use the patches but my surgeon said he does not recommend those. I have ordered Genepro plain protein to add to any item with a 30g content per serving. I have gatorade and vitamin water along with plain water that includes electrolytes. I have plenty of flavored protein drinks and I have beef and chicken broth as I understand I will need to be on liquids for 3 weeks per my doctor. Help because I am frantic thinking I have forgotten something important and also I don't know which vitamins to choose. I would love your advice. Thank You.

    GENEPRO

Most of the posts about Genepro sound like this to me.
  10. For all you September Sleevers just like me on FB look for September Sleevers 2017... it's a place you can share your thoughts, concerns, and be supportive with each other. I was sleeved on 9/15 everything was smooth for me no meds after the hospital for me. I am able to write my elliptical and on purée foods I started 218 and at 203 right now. The only problem I had was I couldn't stand my shakes so I ended up buying genepro from GNC it literally has no taste and 30 grams on protein per scoop. You can add it to your water, soup, broth basically anything... Good Luck Sleevers! We got this!![emoji3]
  11. Genepro has absolutely saved me. Is it the best option compared to real protein? Probably not.... But I can put it in hot decaf fixated tea and it completely dissolves. I still drink 2 cups a day - each scoop is 30 G protein. Take care and know it gets better.

    December bypass buddies

SassyMedic GENEPRO isn't completely tasteless and there may be some clumping. I slowly mix it in and if there are clumps let them sit for a few minutes and then keep mixing until there aren't anymore visible clumps. Hope you're feeling great soon! I'm POD 4 and still sore, but I don't think I've taken it easy enough. I relaxed a lot today. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Where are the November Sleevers?

One month out tomorrow. Doing well. Big adjustment. Lost 12 lbs week one, another 6 week 2, another 9 past two weeks. 25 lbs so far. Weight loss slowed when I started cottage cheese. I added tuna a few days early I needed something more substantial. The fake creamy Soups were horrible. Adding GENEPRO to my favorite broth and crystal light gets my Protein in. But I have 3 meals of yogurt, protein coffee drink, tuna or lunch meat. I had a scrambled egg tonight and it was heaven. Kaiser said none for eight weeks but my surgeon told me yesterday that it was okay. Finding it difficult to get the Vitamins in because all the chewables and liquids I got make me sick. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to take regular pills I got everything I could chewable or liquid. Yuk. I'm working on it. Thankfully I can drink Water with almost no restriction The problem is making sure I stop enough time to eat. Not quite getting in my 64 ounces but it's just because of timing. It's such a big adjustment not knowing how much to eat. I'll eat three or four bites of something and then when I have another all the sudden it hurts. I have not found when to stop? It's not like they're large amounts i'm not sure how or when you can actually sit and eat a small meal. Sometimes I wonder if it will ever be possible. I just make sure I don't go out where other people are eating because eating a few bites is strange. So the one recommendation I have is to take a few bites very slowly. I still have a tendency I think to eat faster than I should and you will get pain if you do. Walking 1 to 2 miles a day. Hoping for the best .
  16. What protein powder are you using? I like Genepro but they are late in the shipment and my soy protein isolate tastes really, really, funny. Glad you are doing well!

Genepro- 30 grams of protein/serving untrue?

I have been using it for aproximately 10 months. I have read all the negatives but I can tell you I love it and it works for me. A gentleman that worked for the company contacted me after reading I was having a hard time getting my Protein in after surgery. Stated his mother inlaw used it after her surgery....he even sent me some samples. With GENEPRO I have been able to keep my protein level up to the 120 that I need with a DS. I still have a real hard time with most meats. Since I have been able to keep my protein up and have kept up with my Vitamins I have not lost any of my hair (I was expecting to since I did lose all of my hair with a previous surgery). My hair is back thick like it was when I was young and it is curly and I have never had curly hair!!! Just stating this has worked for me I have no complaints.....I count it as 30gm of protein....I mix it with Crystal Light Lemonade and keep it on my desk and sip on it all day....If I'm a little short at the end of the day....I mix another one and take it to bed with me and sip on it all night.....I get Water in at the same time.
  18. Chicken bone broth with spices added. I actually drank it as my main fluid as it has 9 protein a serving. When I wanted it as a meal I would add GenePro protein in. Right now my nutritionist wants me to drink less bone broth and more water.

Genepro- 30 grams of protein/serving untrue?

I went ahead and purchased a package of GENEPRO on Amazon yesterday morning. With the same day free Amazon Prime time shipping, it was delivered by 7pm. I was initially shocked how small the package was for $38. It holds one pound (30 servings.) For you visual types, this is about the same power volume you get in one container in unjury Protein powder. I was also questioning why they charged tax. Isn't this considered a food? Lol. Maybe it's so engineered they can't consider it a food any more ???? On the front of the package it states, "30G Protein* per 1 TBSP serving. Please note the asterisk. Below the asterisk states EQUIVALENT. I am not a scientist, but came across some reviews questioning what exactly this stuff is made out of. The package claims the product has not been evaluated by the FDA and isn't meant to diagnose, treat or cure any disease. I was unable to locate any independent research studies online backing up the company's claims, so the only information I have to go on regarding the products reliability is BP user reviews who claim their labs came back awesome. Still, I have to wonder, if this stuff is so awesome, why is it only available on the company website and on Amazon? Wouldn't GNC and gyms be crawling all over each other to stock up on this stuff? I personally found unflavored UNJURY disgusting... But there is peace of mind knowing it is medical quality protein used in hospitals. For comparison, a scoop of their product has 21 grams of protein. Taste and performance wise I will give this stuff a 10 out of 10. It is a fine powder and I can't taste it at all. I poured a scoop into my morning coffee and it mixed right in. Not a clump in site. Not one aftertaste. I took a sip to confirm before adding in my flavored creamer to be sure! I am likely to use it because it doesn't taste bad. I will continue to use it in my coffee for that reason. I have 3 unopened containers of unflavored Unjury in my cabinet one year later. That stuff clumps up in your coffee and leaves a horrible after taste. I ended up not eating/drinking whatever I added it to. I am 14 months post-op at goal and looking to add more protein as I want to add more muscle tone to my body. I've become kinda lax with the protein the last several months so looking for easy ways to increase it. I will let you know if this helps!

    Late December Sleevers?

Had surgery on Dec 27th. Every day does get easier. My main issue now is one incision that still hurts when getting up and down or turning. I have found that the flavorless protein like genepro is so much easier then trying to get the protein shakes down. Can mix with anything from water, to soup, to yogurt. I am lucky no nausea or vomiting. Gas pain was horrible but it is better now. I am experiencing very low energy levels I guess body just adjusting to new diet and healing. Ready to be healed and start losing weight.
  21. Court ruled and they changed the label and UCLA medical center and LOTS of other Dr's recommend the GENEPRO protein above all others! Thats a fact! Label has been changed on GENEPRO 3 and old label states it is equivalent too what you would absorb out of 30 grams of protein via whey protein. Protein is solid and labelling stunk so it was changed! LOL! 30 grams of whey protein will only net you approx 10 grams of protein as the absorption rate is horrible! 1 tablespoon nets you over 10 grams of protein that will actually be absorbed by your body vs ingesting 30 grams of whey that your body will expel over 60% of! WHY WOULD YOU PUT YOUR BODY THRU THAT? LOL!
  22. My dr also said to focus on hydration not shakes. There are some protein shakes that are not meal replacements. They are much lighter and easier to get down. And some powers that mix into anything (I did genepro in wonton soup broth). My dr actually told me to stop trying. Take a total break for 2 days. Everything was much easier when I tried again. (Struggled the first week, took a 3 day break, and was much better day 10.)

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?

Genepro has been a lifesaver for me. I also have the Fruity Oh's flavor that I blend with my smoothies. Super light sweetness and blends well with almond milk unsweetened vanilla, fresh strawberries and bananas,

What if GENEPRO Protein and Coffee had a baby?

How well I know about this!! I have used and continue to use GENEPRO, but I got told and they tried to put me in my place about it not being possible. When I stated that BARIATRICPAL sold it they said it is a money maker!! Any how I am going to try this I love my coffee which I add to my espresso every day. So for me it is a win win!!
  25. Thats where i currently find myself post surgery trying different shakes and not having a lot of luck. I have tried gnc unflavored not bad but i keep getting a severe aftertaste. Tried premier mix it is okay but not for everyday the already mixed were too chalky and thick. The one i really liked was genepro but that one has alot of controversey behind it and i am not sure i want to bet my health on it. So ultimately it is syntrax tried alot flavors and found some that are tolerable. Plus they have lots of flavors that i can interchange through the week. I actually liked the grapefruit and road side lemonade the best but there was nothing wrong with the other flavors either. As for unflavored fixing to try the unjury medical grade hmm we shall see.
