i just got out this chafing ointment that I used between thighs as preventative after it went away and read directions again. It says ot can be used on chafed skin. It’s called camois butt’r and it’s anti-chafe skin that’s used by a lot of cyclists. It works. I got it on Amazon. I had the gastric sleeve with Dr ceaser elenes. The surgery itself was 1000/10. Didn't feel any pain or experience any issues. Excepted the fact that I woke up speaking Spanish....😂😂😂. Followed the after diet for the first 3 months and lost 80lbs. Surgery date. June 1,2022 Price $3000 Travel $700 (from Miami to mexicali,Mexico). Hw 384lb Surgery 372lb Currently weight 291. Pros: The price extremely affordable. Had been getting dicked around by my insurnace for 3 years. The care (bedside manner) of the doctor. Getting a new lease on life(not to sound corny). No more early morning back pain. sleep apnea. Blood pressure meds. Cons. As with any out of the country surgery lack of a follow up. After the first three months your done no more care. You are on your own... kinda scary. But do I regret my decision hell No. A great price Great doctor Great facilities. I give it a rating of 9/10.

This may sound funny but I had boob rash for years. Once I got it cleaned up by using over the counter yeast cream for the vagina. I then put deodorant on under my boobs and have never had the rash again. It has been well over 10 yrs now. Keep trying whatever you can to get it cleaned up. I feel your pain!

Sounds like your doctor has faith in you since you originally went from 400 to 170 lbs. That is a huge accomplishment. Despite the weight gain, you are still way ahead in the weightloss game being 135 lbs down. Maybe he suggested the 10 day liquid diet to try to get you back on track. Similar to the post-op diets, kind of like a reset. I know resets can't shrink your stomach but it does reset some people mentally and they can go back to the dedication they had early post-op and continue doing whatever they did to be so successful before. Also, since you have vitamin deficiencies, maybe he feels you having a revision would not be a safe thing right now. I think you seeing your pcp is a good thing to address or exclude any other health problem that may be causing you to gain weight. If you really want a revision and he is unwilling, perhaps get a second opinion.

Welcome! First of all, great job on your weight loss. Even after the regain, you’re still down 130 pounds from where you started, which is a major accomplishment. Secondly, I’m appalled that your bariatric surgeon’s solution was a 10-day liquid diet, as if that’s a realistic long-term weight loss strategy. I do think you’re on the right track to go to a PCP and get your thyroid and vitamin deficiencies corrected. Are you tracking your eating at all? I use MyFitnessPal, but there are other apps like Baritastic that have similar features, and I think tracking your eating can really help you see where you can improve. At least for me, there’s something about seeing the numbers that makes it clear what is or isn’t worth eating.

Is anyone else feeling sleepy during the day and/or falling asleep after work? I'm getting at least seven hours of sleep every night and more on the weekend, but I feel awfully sleepy in the afternoon and quite often I fall asleep on the couch sometime between 5 and 7 PM, even if I don't intend to. I'm eating 4-600 calories per day and getting 40-60 grams protein daily, so I feel like I should have enough energy to stay up. Now it's almost 10 PM and I have a headache and want to go to sleep, even if I didn't get up until 7:30 this morning AND took a nap in the afternoon. Has anyone dealt with this and found a way to become more energetic and less sleepy?

Between the cramps and fatigue I have been a hot mess. Showing signs of slowing down so I’m hopeful that I’ll soon start to feel better and maybe then see some movement on the scale again when this wraps up. Trying hard to remember this is a sign my body is getting healthier but in the last 4 weeks I’ve only had 7-10 days WITHOUT my period so I’m a little worried what the next few months will be like. Hope you start getting some relief and feeling better soon. -
Food Before and After Photos

Speaking of noodles. I made a roasted eggplant konjac noodles stir fry dish in spicy garlic sauce. I first roasted one eggplant (114 cal) and then stir fried it with the konjac noodles (10 calories, zero carbs), spicy garlic sauce (25 cal) garlic, onions, a splash of chinkiang vinegar and soy sauce. I didn't eat it all but it was great as leftovers too. -

Good luck to everyone who has surgery tomorrow!! You all are going to do great! Remember to sip, sip, sip your water! My surgery was two weeks ago and I’m only down 10 lbs so far but it’s a marathon; not a race. I had a revision from VSG to RNY. No acid reflux! Hurray!!!😁🎉 -
Not eating, drinking or walking enough…
Arabesque replied to LookingForward22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
ok, breath. My surgeon was ok if I didn’t meet my goals as long as I was making an effort & slowly but surely getting closer. I just couldn’t eat or drink more than I was through the stages: you can only do what you can do while you are healing & recovering & your tummy is being sensitive & fussy. The hormonal flush can be a b*tch. You’re losing weight (yay!) but your stored oestrogen is being released into your blood stream causing things like you’re experiencing almost like a punishment (boo!). I didn’t exercise either apart from the initial short anti blood clotting walking/strolling). Remember trying to walk on my treadmill in the second month because I felt I should do something but the extreme lethargy hit so I stopped (I almost fell of my treadmill I was so tired one day). Even now I just do some stretches, more for my oozing discs, some wall pushups & a few sit ups. Probably wouldn’t burn 10 calories LOL! But you need to do what exercises & level of activity that works for you when you are ready & able. -
Sooooo I had the band placed in 2008, did pretty will with it, (so I thought) lost about 50 pounds and held in the 180’s. However, it turns out I really didn’t do well with the band. Almost everything made me vomit. The vomiting continued until I had a hiatal hernia. Band was loosened, the weight came back. They retighten the band, and weight hasn’t budged. I’m about 10 pounds lighter than I was when I had the band placed. Not only am I embarrassed by my weight. I’m embarrassed for people to know I have the band, and it failed, and I am going to try this for a second time. I had an app with a surgeon this week. I’m going to get my band out, and be revised to bypass. This will hopefully help with the vomiting and get the weight off once and for all. He said based on the length of time I have had the band, he wants to do this in 2 steps. Band and scar tissue out and then bypass 1-2 months after. I’m terrified something will happen, the band will come out and then I can’t get the revision.

4 weeks after sleeve surgery, had COVID 10 days into recovery which sent my body into a tailspin and landed me in hospital, thankfully no lasting damage and am starting to feel that boost in energy that people talk about. Progress wise, 2 stone exactly down since surgery, (28 lbs, 12kg) and now just onto soft food. Had smoked salmon, a teeny bit of avocado and an egg this morning, for example. I haven't worn this t shirt since 2018, had it at the back of my wardrobe in the vain hope it may fit one day. Truly never thought it would. Now I face the reality that I probably will have to send it to the charity shop (goodwill) in a few weeks, so I'm gonna enjoy wearing it for now. -
There are recipes online but the one I use is I pre heat oven to 400F, put little small heaps of shredded cheese. Like 24 little piles, separated from each other cause they spread out as they melt. I always use parchment paper. I once used aluminum foil, and that was mess lol. Bake in pre-heated oven until golden brown, about 6 to 7 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before eating. They keep very well in a sealed container.

Actually it was closer to 3 weeks like day 19 or 20 but it did break and yours will too.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
kcuster83 replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, it is not weird but definitely a NSV. Yesterday I went through my clothes for the 6th time! I have now donated 10 trash bags of clothes!!! 🤯 I am in a 16/18 from a 24/26, and officially in my smallest size of stashed "skinny clothes". -
I'm 4 days late, and feel miserable!! Besides I'm bloated, my feet are swelling. I've been in the famous 3rd week stall, for 10 days. I decided not weight myself until monday, that is my follow up appointment with my surgeon...counting the days for soft food.

I am so rubbish at this and have been since day 1. I gobble the first three-quarters of any meal (because I pretty much know what volume of what types of food my stomach will hold after almost 10 months). It's only then that I can get control of myself and slow down a bit. Even then if I'm busy at work or something I just eat the whole meal quickly. I wish I could be better at it. Maybe I leave it until I'm too hungry before eating! I also drink far too quickly. Sorry this has been no use at all has it?

How long did it take your surgeons office to submit to insurance???
FireWife81 replied to raspberrylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My last nutrition appointment was on Aug 31. My Doctor's office said they would submit to insurance after my Doctor was done with his notes. Sometime between that afternoon and close of business the next day. But they did warn me that the insurance company my not even get to it until this past tuesday, 9/6 due to labor day. But, before I left on the 31st I was scheduled for my last pre-surgery appointment for blood work and chest xray. As well as, my surgery date of Oct 3rd pending insurance approval to have it done at the surgery center. If not approved for surgery center and insurance wants it done at Hospital my date will be adjusted. I start my 14 day liquid diet on 9/19 based on the 10/3 surgery date. I really hope I get an approval before the 19th that way I am not on the pre-surgery diet longer. -
Dizziness and fainting 10 weeks post op
Arabesque replied to Ryan Witner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It’s likely postural hypotension. That is your blood pressure drops on standing from lying down or sitting & takes time to be pumped up to your head. Hence the loss of vision, fainting, dizziness & wooziness. It’s very common after surgery while you’re losing weight then for most it passes. It didn’t for me & I experience it several times a day every day but low blood pressure was a pre existing & family tendency before surgery. Yes, add some electrolyte drinks & also add a little extra salt to your diet. Get up slowly & don’t move for 10 or so seconds (you’ll work out how long you need). Some say marching your feet before standing helps - it doesn’t help me. I find it very handy to keep close to a wall or furniture so when your blood pressure drops you can touch the wall or furniture to ground yourself. I’ve even been known to grab hold of a friend. 😁 I also bend over so the blood gets back up to my head more quickly. -

I feel like today (day 10) has been the hardest on the preop diet. But I had to grill pork chops for everyone else and that’s probably why. So far I have been pretty much sticking to it though.
