  1. So I started at 199. My highest non-pregnant weight of my life. The only time in my life when I didn't feel fat was when I was at 135. I am 5 feet 5 inches. So I am now down 20lbs and weight is 179 (big yay to that). But to me, I am still terribly obese. I see these photos of other women who are at the same weight as me and they look fantastic. I just don't understand how two people the same height and weight can look so different. This road is both harder and easier than I expected. Maybe I am just frustrated because I am in the dreaded 3 week stall and feel like 20 pounds is all I am going to get out of this. Ugh
  2. I was 209 the day of surgery, Oct 15th. I am 189 today. I hit a 3 week stall at week 3, and stayed at 193, but just started to move again....finally

    Las Vegas Anyone ?

I'm a Vegas gal... Sleeved on 11/5 by Dr. Atkinson. I've lost 22lbs so far & experienced the 3 week stall when I introduced more foods. I'm having a very hard time getting all my water in.. Urgh!
  5. HW = 278 Surgery date = 12/5/12 SW = 254 CW = 239 Christmas Weight = 230 New Years Weight = 220 I tried to factor in that dreaded 3 week stall. Lol

    Las Vegas Anyone ?

Great to run into you again also. I am glad you are doing well. Yes, he did the same to me....regarding the food. Just told me to start slow and try one thing at a time in case it doesn't agree with me, so I would know which one. I have another appt with him on Thursday the 13th. Need to get my Vitamins at that appt. I had the 3 week stall that turned into the 4 week stall too. But I finally lost another 3 lbs so I'm down 23 since surgery, with 20 being in the first 2 weeks. The first 2 days, after going home, All I did was sleep & drink Water. My regular dr has told me that I haven't given myself time to recoup and has told me not to do too much exercising, but I did start working on my arms and legs and doing a little Zumba. And I walk at both my breaks at work. Have you started working out? Are you doing ok with food? Having any pain eating? I've had a problem with horrible throat pain when eating. Have you experienced any of that? Or I'll forget to eat. LOL It is so great to talk to you and I'm glad you are doing so well.

Ughhh Aunt Flow is here... AGAIN!

I know it's normal for your period to be irregular after surgery but seriously?? I'm just about 8 weeks post op and am on my period for the FOURTH time since surgery! Every two weeks I turn around and there she is again! I was on a normal cycle before surgery, am not on any type of birth control and haven't been for quite some time. The most frustrating part is the weight gain randomness... I finally broke a 3 week stall, past the 50 lbs down mark and then BAM I'm up 2-3 lbs again. FRUSTRATED!

    Slow Weight Loss

All the best. You are doing really great. At week 3 I had a 3 week stall and felt sooooo discouraged. Your weight loss is terrific and while you may not be experiencing a stall I can tell you that this is definately the BEST thing that I have done for myself. I'm 6 months out now and have had a couple of stalls BUT the weight is coming off. I have nearly lost 100 lbs!! I feel terrific. You've made a decision that is life changing... hang in there - it is totally worth it!!

    Friday Weigh-In!

That's a first for me Ellie... I had not heard of a doctor saying to lower protein. Just FYI... I was in a 3 week stall and upped my calcium and exercise and lost 3 lbs.. I was like wth.. But somewhere I read calcium helps promote weight loss and I love those Carmel calcium chews anyway so ill keep doing it. You are doing so well and are an inspiration to many!!

    Las Vegas Anyone ?

I am still always tired and I am 4 weeks out and have been nauseous for 4 weeks. I also have pain in my throat and stomach when eating and was told by my regular dr that I haven't given myself time to recoup. I had my surgery on a Wednesday, ended up having to stay overnight, took the rest of that week off, had the weekend off, that Monday was a holiday and I went back to work that Tuesday. But Dr Umbach and everyone in his office is great!!!! I am trying to take some steps backwards and drink more shakes instead of introducing more food because I really don't want to mess this up. I lost 20 lbs the first 2 weeks and nothing since then. But I've seen alot about the dreaded 3 week stall. Mine has turned into a 3 & 4 week stall. I've tried to start working out a bit but was told by my regular dr that it is too soon. Which is confirmed by my weak and sore tummy when I do workout. I walk everyday at work on my breaks. I'm still trying to do some things; work my arms and legs, but I'm trying to take things slower. I have really been pushing myself too much.

    Any November 14Th Sleevers?

I've stalled..but I've read this is VERY COMMON. Do a search for '3 week stall' . Remember to keep up with your water and protein ...and stay off the scale lol
  15. I had the same problem. I lost about 8 pounds right after surgery, then I was losing about a pound a day for another week. Then I stopped, I went about 5 days with no movement on the scale. There is a dreaded 3 week stall that a lot of people go through. So I would keep up with what you're doing (as long as your protein and calories are within your goal range) and try try try to not look at the scale for a few days. Good luck and keep me updated!
  16. I was in a 3 week stall at 3 weeks post op and water did the trick for me was water, water, water and water make sure your getting plenty of it and your protein:)Good luck
  17. Sleeved Nov 14 I have lost 20lbs but I am also in the 3 week stall. Trying hard to get my Water in I drink about 35oz. Menu L - egg D - 1 oz meat I know I need to eat more and drink more. But I tend to get hungry around 9pm. I'm nauseous a lot of the time. I may vomit at times. Cold other times. My left incision finally stopped hurting on Sunday. I take Colace Stool Softner. I cannot tolerate Protein shakes I find them toooo sweet.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

I'm not gaining but I am flipping between 219 and 220. I think it's the dreaded 3 week stall!!!
  19. Hi!! I was sleeved on the 15th of November. I weighed in at 311 and I am at 293 and have been there for about a week. I think I am at that 3 week stall too. I hope that more weight lose will come soon. good luck every one!!!!'
  20. You need the water to keep you hydrated and to give the fat a vehicle to leave your body. Also, your body is traumatized... It might not want to work properly. Also search for 3 week stall.. Mini stall that happens in the third week... You might just be an early bloomer
  21. After my revision surgery, Dr. Elmo (assistant to Dr. Rod, my mexican band doctor and revision doctor) spoke to me about the bad habits acquired with the lap band. I am still on mushies at this point (3 weeks) and I really haven't had a strong desire to go back to the bad habits. I have tried some ice cream (last night) from Sonic as I was dying for something sweet. Well, I had just a little bit of a sundae and that was it. I could not tolerate anymore. It was enough to satisfy a craving but it seems that body does not really want too much of a rich thing. I'm happy to report that as of today, my weightloss has been about 17.5 lbs. since my surgery 3 weeks ago today. I went this past week without losing anything and after reading a post on here about the 3 week stall, I relaxed a bit, and today .5 was gone! I may need to add a Protein shake every day or something as I really don't think I'm eating enough but I'm not that hungry. I'm satsified with very little. This a.m. had some cottage cheese and a bit of protein Jello mixed with it. Been trying to walk daily and be more active. I think we are all different and must look at the sleeve as a new start. I am so happy that I will not have trouble with chicken or vegetables anymore like Amazon 13 posted. I got frustrated with my band (even empty I had restriction depending on weather, tom, time of year, stress) and was tired of throwing up. So, I would eat a lot of ice cream, shakes and just plain JUNK. I had to really do some soul searching as in a few months I had gained 25 lbs. due to eating out of depression, etc. I am seeking out a good counselor and ready to get to my goal in the next year. The band failed me, but I also failed the band in some ways, too. I paid out of pocket, traveled back to Mexico to have the band out and do the sleeve. Failure is NOT an option. But, it will be my choices that lead to success!

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Hey everyone had my 4 month checkup with my dietitian. She was so surprised with my 37kg loss. She thinks it is awesome. Got my bloods back and everything is perfect, just need to keep up my multi and that's it. She says fish oil will help my hair loss. She said because a I have had such a dramatic loss my stalls will start to become more often and longer. Have only just broke my 3 week stall in the last few days. Hoping to drop another 7 by the end of the year, that will put me around 110kg.
  23. I am at the 3 week stall too. Getting very frustrated. I did measure And I have lost inches since surgery but I would like to see the scale move too.
