Need liquid suggestions please
alyce20 replied to juls0102's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 2 weeks I couldn't take the water anymore... I tried V8 low sodium juice... I thought I died and went to heaven ..soooo good... Something to wake up my taste buds. I have half a cup in the morning... I mix my Genepro protein in that. It's tasteless and orderless. -
I mix Genepro in everything!!
-
Ok I told you that I had ordered the Genepro well I did and I love it omg I have put it in my food and didn't even taste it was there. And the scoop is not huge like the others. And it comes with travel bags you have to look inside the bag for them. And 30 grams of protein for a whole scoop and its 15grams for a half of scoop. You can even mix it in coffee I put it in my milk when I'm making cereal all I can say is I love it! !!!!!

Love Genepro! I add it to every thing!

For those on liquid diets now.

Someone on this site mentioned GENEPRO Protein. It's tasteless and totally dissolves. I put it in broth. I can also have v-8 veggie juice, so I mix that and the protein with broth and it's like tomato Soup. The protein is 98 calories and 30grams of protein. Can't taste it at all!! -
Protein source on full liquids...
carolk36 replied to angb1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GENEPRO Protein is COMPLETELY odorless and tasteless. It has been a lifesaver for me because I couldn't tolerate how sweet the usual shakes are nor could I stand the whey taste/smell. I would gag trying to drink them. You can get this protein from the company website or from Amazon.com; just google it. I mix it in everything including hot coffee, yogurt, V8 and it disappears, oh and it's 30 grams per scoop. Both my surgeon's office and the NUT approved it. Good luck! Carol -
Opinions in Genepro protein powder?
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Genepro! My nut said it was ok. I use it along with another vanilla protein and skim milk and a little ice with some sugar free banana pudding and make a shake in the morning. With all of that it tastes great. And it has 59 grams of protein. It is great. Genepro can be added easily to anything, it's only about a tablespoon for 30 grams of protein instead of those huge scoops. It's been great! The other protein mix which is vanilla is unjury. -
August post op sleevers: Check in
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to motherof5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Could I ask how much protein you get from the cereal and milk? I am trying to find some different things. I was sleeved the same day as you, I still drink the protein drinks to be sure I get enough protein because I cannot eat enough food to get all my protein in. I don't mind them too much. I mix Unjury vanilla, Genepro, fat free milk and sugar free banana cream pudding mix and ice and I get 59 grams of protein before 7 am makes the rest of my day less stressful worrying about getting in my protein. -
I purchased GENEPRO earlier today. The 30g Protein and no flavor was a selling point for me. I find Protein shakes revolting so far. Yes, I will drink them and pretend they taste good but I will gladly give them up. I am thinking the trick is to add the powder to things that are more familiar. I don't usually drink chocolate shakes but adding Protein Powder to broth and V8 sounds appealing. It will be a salty break.

Help! I'm not getting my water or protein
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to SleeveyLooser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can order Genepro from Amazon, instead of a huge scoop of protein it is just a tablespoon and has 30 grams, only 4 carbs it mixes with anything and I cannot taste it. I mis it in my protein shake in the morning along with my scoop of unjury and skim milk and my morning protein shake is 8 ounces of skim milk, 1 scoop of unjury a scoop of Genepro and a little powdered sugar free pudding and a few ice cubes to get it cold and it is 59 grams of protein. I almost have my protein requirement in by 7 am before I leave for work. It's awesome. -
I am a slow loser too. I had my surgery 6/25 and I'm just about 30 lb down, though 40 lbs down from my highest weight. I have to make sure I get at least 4 glasses of liquids down before breakfast. (Not water. I hate water. I often drink decaf chai or plain tea.) I don't have as much trouble with protein, but I do recommend genepro powder as its tasteless and has a lot of protein and can be mixed with hot liquids without the fuss of other unflavored protein.
-
I used 3 different ones. Still the same. The taste is off for me. I used lean 25 from GNC, Nectar, and a special K one. They leave me bloated, extremely nauseated, and in pain. I'm going to try this genepro I read in here and see if that helps. It's supposed to be 30g protein in 15g serving and can be dissolved in cold and hot foods, liquids, is unflavored. I'm really hoping it works out for me.

Thank you for your reply, my pea Protein tasted horrible so I returned it, I bought the GENEPRO, hopefully it comes when I leave the hospital. I am now getting ready for my surgery. I was called last night 3 times and my surgery was changed from 10am to 12pm to 9am, I have to be at the hospital at 7am, and it is now 4am. I am feeling very ready and nervous, I left packing for the last minute and I also haven't slept. I figured i'll get enough sleep later. Good luck to everyone having surgery today, I will update later on how it went. Here is my preop photo 10/07/14 -

I use Genepro with the approval of my NUT. IT IS AWESOME! Instead of a huge scoop it is just a tablespoon and has 30 grams of protein and 98 calories and I believe it's 3 carbs. You can mix it in hot or cold. I use a scoop of vanilla Unjury, a cup of skim milk, a little sugar free pudding powder I love the banana cream and add a tablespoon of Genepro and some ice cubes mis it in a blender and I get 59 grams of protein in one shake. I drink one every morning then I only have to get a little more protein to meet my goal and it's simple!

@@TEXASLADY52 said: I cannot tolerate the sweet and I have never liked sweet drinks. Even the Greek Yogurt has tons of sugar in it. What I found is: Genepro http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30 grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I fix a Crystal Light and a scoop. I understand you can contact the website and they will send you a sample? ______________________________________________________________________________ note: Ok, women, this is a "guys" thread and /or question please. So unless you're trying out for women's bodybuilding championships, how it works with you is not what I'm looking for......but thanks anyway. Saw this in another thread and it really impressed me. Have any of you "Men" used this product and if you have, what is your take on it? Results ?? Does it have any medical warnings or restrictions? What about side effects? Taste? etc.etc. Companies are always making outrageous claims and rarely deliver. Although the original poster of this product does tout it's desirability, she is female and I do believe men and women have vastly different guidelines and goals when it comes to supplements, workouts and body muscle etc. Additionally if you haven't used this particular product but are using a different one that provides substantial protein gains with similar properties.....please speak up and let us know.

I have never heard of GENEPRO. I looked it up and all I found is a geneololgy sight. I really like unjury and nectaur protiens. I am a chocolate lover but can't seem to be able to like the chocolate Protein powders that need to be mixed. So with the unjury I use the strawberry and unflavored one. With the Nectaur brand I really like a whole slew of their fruit flavored Proteins. I mix my proteins with zero vitiman Water using just half the bottle. (10 oz.) They need to be mixed at room temperature and then if they can sit for 5 min. you can either put ice in the bottle or refridegerate it. This helps to avoid clumping. Use within 48 hours of mixing. I also have a premeir protein for my Breakfast most days. These are already to go (called RTD) and I like the choclate with this one so haven't tried their vanilla. They might have a strawberry out too. (?) Hope this helps.

@@tacycakes I don't think the Catheter is as much pain as it is this weird sensation. (I've had two c-sections). I'm 5'4 started at 303lbs in May. I'm at 286.4 now did a semi liquid diet last week with maybe a total of four solid meals last week. Tomorrow is the start of my official pre-op liquid diet. I used this week to see what protein drinks worked bet for me. but I also ordered the genepro. This a vegan protein meal replacement made from sprouted brown rice and others. If you let it sit for a bit it gets this gloopy cream of wheat consistency which I actually prefer. My surgery is on Columbus Day, the 13th. So close. I have average anxiety. I just feel like I need to have everything cleaned up before it. I've been quite fatalistic as of late.

Hey Bronxmerci Sorry It took me so long to reply but I am in the hospital just got my computer and it want to act out. But GENEPRO is the best. It's unflavored, you can use it in hot foods and drinks. I've personally used it in HOT tea an HOT chicken broth. You Can not taste it. I ordered mine from Amazon. I had tea with Genepro (30 grams protein) in the morning and a Premier shake at lunch (30 grams of protein) for lunch. That gives you 60 grams and you still have the rest of the day If you wanted to do a little more. -
Honest truth about genepro protein powder

Thank you all I received my genepro today and can tolerate it! Yay!!! -
Talk with you NUT about Genepro because my NUT and a dietician says it's not good protein that you really only get about 10g of protein. The rest is amino acids. I no longer use Genepro.
