Don't worry about talking about poop here... it's not TMI, it's normal, acceptable conversation around these parts, LOL odd right? Yes, pre and post op diarrhea is normal. What surgery did you have btw? It could be a symptom of diet intolerances and not just the typical symptoms from a mainly liquid only diet.

Nope, I would not reply to someone who indicated they had WLS no matter how well written their profile is. Like CowgirlJane said, way TMI way too soon. I also don't respond to people who complain about their exes, who label themselves as "nice guys" or worse something along the lines of "nice guys finish last" or any other sort of whiny bs. On a personal note the "nice guy" tag annoys the crap out of me...the fastest way to get a woman to run away from you is to tell her you are are a good guy. You let her know this through actions, consistent, good man actions, not labeling your profile with "good man" garbage, ugh that annoys me. Don't fill out your full profile- no one really cares to read that much unless they're a stalker, in which case you have bigger problems. In terms of best dating sites, hands-down I prefer Tinder. As a pre-qualification, this used to be known as a hook-up site, which I didn't actually know when I first started using it. I have met one person off of there and he ended up being first a really good friend and later my boyfriend and, lol, there was never any hook-up type of arrangement. He took me out for a nice dinner the first time we met, like is supposed to be the case for a date. Tinder is great because the only people who can message you are people you have an interest in, so for women you don't get every creep and their brother messaging you. Also, while there is the point that Tinder is shallow, so is life. Let's be honest, if you aren't attracted to someone, you aren't likely to end up dating them, so why not just get that part out of the way? On Tinder you only talk to women or men who you like and who also liked you. I haven't used the app in awhile, but for someone looking to meet someone without having to go through a lot of sending messages and being ignored, this is a decent start.

Hi Blessed, My RNY was also on 3/29. I've definitely had my struggles and still do! I started on Pureed foods a few days ago. The first few days were rough! I think I was so excited to start on them that I overdid it a couple times. Pretty sick after that. Felt faint-ish, weak, racing heart, VERY nauseous. Luckily both times were around bed time, so I laid down and after a while subsided and I finally slept. I have given up the protein shakes as even to LOOK at them makes me feel like vomiting. VERY strong aversion to them now. I bought the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide powder someone on here (sorry I can't remember who!) that has 18 grams of protein in 2 tbsp and luckily blends really well, especially in hot things like my coffee, so I start with that every morning. I have no appetite and have to go by when I start feeling weak to make myself eat. I'm sensitive to almost all artificial sweeteners so haven't been able to tolerate sugar free things. How about you? Went shopping with the hubby yesterday and bought most of the things recommended by the fabulous people on here to puree. Great ideas. I'll try the white fish (we bought cod) tonight with thinned mashed potatoes. I was feeling nauseated yesterday after eating egg salad, so a couple hours later I was naughty and ate 3 saltine crackers very slowly which really seemed to help. I don't know about anyone else, but after I eat something, the thought of eating it again makes me ill. Did anyone else have trouble with that? Going back to work has been tough. 10-11 hour days. I work in a very busy vet clinic, so trying to get in "snacks" has been difficult and I end up feeling crappy, weak, brain fog until I get to lunch. The last couple days getting in my water while I'm there has been tough too. Everyone I work with is awesome and would allow me the chance to get a snack, but it takes so long to eat it that I feel guilty for having to step away for a bit to do that, especially since we've been short-handed. I just need to do it, though. Next thing here is totally TMI, so skip if you don't wanna know. I've had a b/m almost daily, but never a complete one. They are very pasty and don't seem to want to evacuate my body well (LOL). I did start eating Activia with protein powder in it to see if that will help. Miralax and Dulcolax does NADA for me. Any other recommendations? My left side still has some pain- almost gas-like. I've taken the chewable Gas-x which doesn't do much either. I definitely don't like my bra sitting on top of where my stomach is, so off it goes at all times when I'm at home! Weird thing is that my hot flashes have seemed to return with a vengeance which a year before surgery had finally stopped. Bummer. Anyone else struggling with this? I've been working with my shrink regarding my meds. We've had to adjust things a couple times already. I can't take Gabapentin at bed time anymore- makes me so dizzy. Also switching from Zoloft to Lamotrigine. I used to take all my meds at once in one big swallow. Can't do THAT anymore, so slowly it goes, which frustrates me a bit. The good thing is that overall I'm doing pretty good. I'm only weighing myself once a week, so Wed. I'll reweigh myself. My body is totally changing tho! I still don't have a lot of energy, but hopefully that will improve over time. Some days are better than others. I did take some "before" pictures (but can't figure out how to edit out my boobs so will be for my eyes only!), just to help me see my progress if the scales don't show a loss. Clothes are much looser already tho! Ok, sorry to ramble so long. I threw a lot out there, but that's kinda how I am. It soooo helps to know if others are going or have gone thru these same things! I look forward to and love the feedback. I hope you and everyone else are doing well!

In bathroom seems every hour
pnw218 replied to Driver63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
how far post-op are you?? are you able to eat a variety of foods yet?? When I did Atkins and had too much Protein, constipation could be an issue. I didn't go for over a week post-op, I think. And then normal was about every 4 days. I have only had a couple of instances of rabbit poop (I know, tmi) where it is more of a strain and highly annoying. My new normal has been to go every day for 2 or 3 days, and then not again for a few days. Mostly formed normally and not a strain. If you are still in liquids, try more Water. Pain meds can also tighten things up. I have been allowed to take stool softeners after prior surgeries. You could ask to see if it is ok. -
Just discovered a new method for "unplugging" stuck food!
stinaNYC posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Or, at least, I *think* it's new! I just can't believe I didn't think of it before! Lots of TMI ahead, so beware: So I had a fill on Wednesday afternoon to about 2.25 cc (I had been unfilled to 1 cc for vacation on my request). 48 hours of liquids, and this afternoon I was ready to switch to mushies. I thought that very thin black bean Soup would be just right. Yeah, well... I was wrong. So an hour and a half after I ate 3 spoonfulls, I'm sliming and all the other wonderful stuff that comes with being "plugged up". I haven't PBd in over a month b/c of the unfill, and I didn't want to try to force the plug back up. In a flash of (IMO) brilliance, I looked at my gym schedule sitting on my desk and realized that I was missing my yoga class. Hmmm...yoga...mat work... Downward-facing dog? Let's give it a shot! So I did the downward-facing dog move...and lo! The plug of black Beans just effortlessly cascaded back up (or down, as it were)! No retching, no stressing the band! I just can't believe I hadn't thought of this before! Okay...which one of you was holding out on me about this! -
I'm confused - I think this is the LGBT group and I'm desperate for information to calm me down about fears that just aren't easy to bring up. I am a GAY MAN, I am versatile, but being on the bottom, well it's very important, and I can't get answers about the issues regarding anal sex after surgery. It's not just the obvious, it's fears of elimination patterns being so inconsistent (ahem) and gassy, there have to be gay men reading this who can comment. I'm a guy who added significant fiber to his diet on a regular basis so as to be having healthy and well formed bowel movements. I think you get it and I'll stop TMI right now - but this is my only real fear going in 3 weeks for surgery. I'm 38 BMI, very active lifestyle, I even like my body generally speaking - except for the belly where I look about 6 months pregnant all the time. It's all right there. I just want to communicate with gay men in this "position" .....ahem....us "situation".

Constipation From High Protein Diet?
jewelwithin replied to TiffanyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, they gave me Milk of Magnesia in the hosp. I'm having the opposite problem -- all liquid coming out. Sry...TMI I suppose, but if anyone has had a similar experience let me know. I'm only 2 days out from surgery though, so this may well just work itself out. -
So in sticking with my plan for the last three weeks, it was Friday morning and "weigh day". I was happy to see another 3 lb. loss to make 40 in 6 weeks. Then I took my measurements as I have done on weigh day and compared them with pre op measurements. I have lost 23 inches!!! I felt so good about me, that after hiding my body from my husband for about a year or so, I walked from the bedroom to the clothes hamper in the utility room stark naked twice!!! He just smiled and asked me if this was a parade or an invite!!! LOL

chef neil replied to 300PoundsDown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi- I am back to work- and still on verge of dehydration. I drink at least 64 oz./day can't get (sorry for the TMI) pee to not be bright yellow, and don't GO while at work... but my work is warm, always moving- non stop, (I used a pedo and do about 4 miles a day) Today I drank 48 oz. while working and I started off with 20 oz. shake for Breakfast. I am seeing my PCF. tomorrow. I think the intake/output has something to do with my dizziness. so far all tests have revealed I am healthy... -

Had Surgery on September 8th 2015
tblovingme replied to lmag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I had surgery in September 10th. So far so good. Getting all my Water requirements in with no issues. I have been fortunate to not even experience any nausea and vomiting. Other than some soreness in my incision sites, I am pleased with my recovery. I am still taking it very slowly t make sure I am giving my body time to heal and get 100%. Only issue is being able to pass as much gas as I would like to but its coming (TMI) I know once that is gone I will feel much much better. So far I am happy with my decision and my Surgeon is the best. I hope everyone else is having as much success. Good Luck!! -
Greetings all: Checking in with everyone - for those of you with dates in the first week of January. how are your liquid diets going ? The liquid diet hasn't been easy, but I think finally the caffeine headache kinda broke. I've just cleared the 300 mark. I haven't been under 300 in years. I know a lot of it's water weight but *still*! . I started out at 313 went up to 320 during the 6 mos diet and am now at 298. Woohoo!! Progress! Keeps me motivated. *That* and the popsicles! One thing - it looks like I'm going to be through this alone. A little emotional about that. My husband is going through gastro health issues and doesn't think he can stay with me at the hospital - he needs his own personal bathroom. We're all adults here talking medical stuff so I don't think I'm sharing TMI. Anyone else doing the same - doing this on your own? I feel very much alone as there is really no one else who can help me through this. I hope all of you are doing well!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's journey! Jeanne

New notorious novembers weightloss spreadsheet
Tristessa replied to sistasassy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a fill, went back six weeks later to find out that my band was empty, got filled to 1.8ccs (4cc band) and ended up being way too tight so got defilled to 1.3 and that was too loose, so now I'm at about 1.6 but I've lost a lot more weight since the 1.8 fill and feeling a little less restriction now. I think I'm good for a few more weeks and then I'll need to get in again for another fill. The way it was explained to me was that as you lose, you lose the fat pad between the band and the stomach, so you need to keep getting fills until you reach your goal. Or maybe I was just high off my ass since it was explained to me pre-op. I'm still holding at 228 (fluctuating up and down the same 2lbs.) Gotta love plateaus. Ugh! I'm happy though, I found my collarbones! And hip bones, and chest bones which actually scared the crap out of me when I brushed my arm against my chest one day. (Sorry, TMI, but it was freaky! I thought I had a lump, turns out it's just bone I've never been able to feel.) -
Quick question... When I wear the armband all night long, my energy expenditures are higher, vs. when I take it off. However, I have only had my bugg for a week or so, so I have no idea if this is because of me not wearing it at night, or due to my body burning a different amount of calories each day. Any ideas? Also, TMI! Is there an activity category for SEX? Seriously! I couldn't find anything in there. I mean doing it for an hour has GOT to make a difference --- and it isn't fun wearing one while doing it so I need to go in and manually enter the calories myself.

Is anyone having problems with bowel movement?
Eureka-C replied to valleygirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
WARNING - TMI I had loose bowels while my body ridded itself of the IV fluids, then one day it stopped, and days passed. After about 3 days, I decided to start using benefiber 3 to 4 times a day. Finally I started moving, but my hemmorrhoids, which I had not had problems with since my last pregnancy, were awful. It was painful, slow and bloody. Therefore, I now take benefiber on a regular basis. once a day the first day no movement, twice a day if two days since movement, and three times a day if three or more days. I now usually only go about every 3 days, but it is a normal consistency and no pain. I have read some scary stories about BM's so be sure to get your Water in, and something to make it soft or fiber. Best of luck. -
I have found that if I eat an apple every day it seems to keep me pretty regular and it is natural. Also, try 8oz of Prune juice every morning till you have that easy bowel movement then cut back as needed. The more water you drink the easier bowel movements are as well. So try to get in your 64 oz every day. These seem to work for me. The apple really works great. Nice and soft but not diarrhea movements. I know I know TMI!! LOL!!

Introducing myself & My Story so far...
Tina254 replied to Tina254's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks crzytchr for you advise. I've been on top of all my meds cause I've been hurting a lot due to gas pains. The doctor and the nurses told me I need to release the gas in my stomach and that would make me feel better. This morning for the first time since surgery I actually farted a few times (sorry if TMI). It released some pressure (air) and I feel a little better and not so nausated! BUT I also took 3 gas X strips and 3 teaspoons of Maalox (sp?) before bed (cause I was in so much pain) so that was probably a contributing factor in the reason why I "released". Believe it or not I'm not hurting as much near my port side since I "released"! So I'm soooo much happier now that I did fart, lol. -
Sorry...but I have to ask...

What to do for a sugar craving
Jim1967 replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My head hunger is pretty much gone since the band. I am still in awe about how little I care about food. I was a major ice cream addict before the band and that is the absolute worse because that crap just slides right on down band or no band. Ice cream was a huge concern for me when considering all options because 1. Gastric bypass you have to deal with dumping syndrome and ice cream is a killer. I was not ready to say goodbye to ice cream forever. 2. Band lets it slide on down.....ice cream still a killer...and I thought there was no way to win with this. I was wrong. My band has helped me immensely with head hunger to a point where it does not exist. Ice cream still happens on rare occasions and when it does it sugar free with exception to two weeks ago my Wife was in the mood for ice cream so we hit the local stand and I said "ya know what I deserve a treat". I had a regular vanilla frappe. Big, Big mistake. Hour later I was home and in the bathroom and had some stomach cramps. I guess my body is not used to it anymore. From here on out sugar free only when I am having a treat. I am also one of those ones who eat what they want. I've been down the road of deprivation and it just does not work for me...period. If I want pizza or ice cream I have it. Now its all about moderation and stopping the eating when I am satisfied. If you're really, really having the sugar craving try a teaspoon of Peanut Butter. At least that way you will also get some Protein while also getting in your sugar fix. This got me through that period of time when I did not have enough "restriction" and head hunger was still plaguing me. Remember it's all in moderation. Edit: Sorry for the TMI. I was just trying to point out how much the band has changed me. -
The towel wrapping was great and satisfying. I also go down stairs normally. At my heaviest I was going down sideways which was something I remember my mom doing. And if its not TMI I can wrap my legs and cross my ankles around my husband now during sex. I can't believe I just said that! Posting quickly before I can erase..

Hey Ladies I wanted to share my experience with having surgery this past Tuesday. Monday 5pm drank 1 bottle of magnesium citrate Stomach exploded all night long... Woke up 5:30 am Made it to the hospital around 7am - checked in. Nurses called me back around 7:30. Stomach still bubbling:unsure: I go to the preop area get an IV and wait. Made 3 trips to the bathroom since the IV. Anastesilogist can to the room asked if I took a pregnancy test.. No.. The nurse forgot to give it to me.. So had to take the test wait another 30 mins for results. Anyway they finally took me back to the O.R. around 11am. The nurse puts on the compression garments on my legs and the ana..logist gives me some feel good. We are in the O.R. laughing and having a good time. Next thing I know. I am waking up in recovery. My first thought in my head was... what the F*ck have I done! The pain was unberable!!! I wasn't expecting it to hurt so bad. Anyway I had a nurse with who tried to rush me out of recovery. She woke me up saying "Ms. Speed the Dr. said you look fine, so you can go home." She kept on tapping me on the shoulder, and shaking me. :sneaky: So I finally am able to mouth "I'm in pain" she gives me a dirty look because she doesn't want me to fall back asleep. So the Dr. comes and gives me some more pain meds:thumbup: and I fall back asleep. Mean while laying in the bed in recovery I hear the nurse referr to me as her "problem patient":cursing::cursing::cursing: So I politely called her over and said "I KNOW YOU ARE IN A HURRY TO GET ME OUT OF HERE" "BUT I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!" "I AM STAYING RIGHT HERE UNTIL I FEEL BETTER" She left my bedside and switch patients with another nurse. This nurse was great, she let me sleep until I felt like I could go home. This lady took me to the restroom, and helped me sit on the toilet. (I know TMI!) but my legs were shakey. I finally felt good enough to leave the hospital around 3pm. I went home and slept all night. Not much pain while laying down. Just pain when I try to turn my torso.

Any one else have to take 2 bottles of Magnesium citrate the day before their surgery??? I have never taken it but I have been told by other that one bottle will seariously clean you out! So two kinda scares me! :scared0: I was suposed to pick some one up at the air port that day and I think I am kinda scared to leave the house. I mean all I will have in me is protien shakes and lettuce for 10 days prior, and I have been told that when you drink it, when you feel you have to go then there is no waiting you have to go right then and there better be a bathroom near by!!!!:bored0: If there is any one out there with experience on weather I will be able to leave the house or if I need to fine some one to pick the person up so that I can stay leashed to the toilet I would greatly apreciate the feed back so I can do the plaing ahead of time. Thanks
