  1. i can relate to each and every person that has stated all the reasons I won't miss about being fat and I know this is absolutely TMI, but I hated using the bathroom because I can't get to myself to clean myself properly without having to get back in the shower once again.

    Anyone in Dallas Tx

I'm now 4 days post op. I'm still having nausea (no vomiting, yet) and a lot of pain which I think is gas. This is going to be TMI, but here goes anyway, I have not had a BM since before surgery. My physician said to take Milk of Magnesia. I opened the bottle and the smell of this stuff was enough to make me gag, so since I'm already feeling nauseated, I think I will pass. How long will this just not felling well last? I'm to go back to work Monday as I was assured that I would be fine by that time as long as I have a job where I'm not pushing or pulling anything. Any suggestions?

But....many people here have said.... Be aggressive or direct..... I can get out of the shower walk naked in front of him and Nothing.... i sleep naked every night and nothing.... i can pleasure myself with him in the bed next to me and NOTHING... Sad part is.... I have men and woman hit on me daily and the one person i want to ...Wont.
  4. So far, the shakes have been keeping my hunger in check. I've been hungry here and there, but nothing I couldn't get over. For me, the worst part is that my stomach is grumbling constantly today. Grumbling isn't even the right word - more like whale songs. My stomach is singing to me, and not in a good way. Also, **TMI ALERT** I'm getting a little diarrhea. Not terribly, but it's not what it should be, either. I can't tell if that means I'm dehydrated or if it's supposed to be like that because I'm on liquids only. I feel okay otherwise, but I can't seem to get my stomach to calm down. I've been taking a Fiber supplement to try to stay regular, not sure if it's helping. Any one got suggestions?
  5. I am on week 2 of my liquid diet. My surgery is in 2 days. Today, I was sitting watching a movie. I felt a little funny and then an orange liquid came out of my bum and soiled my clothing. It did not look like poo at all. It looked like orange water, slightly transparent. Is this because of the liquid diet?

    No medical support

I want to add that I'm sorry if I came off as ungrateful that I was able to have the surgery, I am grateful and i am planning on working my program. I was very emotional and upset when I was typing out what happened. I think I'm more upset that I didn't stay in a different town for my recovery.... and I'm hoping to never have to go to this hospital again if I can help it... The doctor just make me feel like me feeling dizzy, not being able to drink much, and not going to the bathroom in over 10 hours (probably tmi I'm sorry) was all my fault and I deserved it and had no right going to the hospital for help..... I have another surgery I'm supposed to have done in 8 months (for my back) and u will definitely hold off until I'm able to save enough to stay in a different town for recovery. 7. OK, I'm getting used to the small bites, slow eating and chew chew chew but I'm not great at it yet. So sometimes I do have to go and throw things back up. Usually I can tell I need to by the fact that the burping after I eat is 'thick' and doesn't really happen but the feeling is there. So, my issue is, when I do have to go throw up I never throw up the food, it's always just the slime. AFter that, everything is ok. I learned the hard way about snacking on turkey pepperoni, and after about 3 heaves I actually got some of the, um, mush back up but that's the only time it's been anything besides slime...is that really a problem with what/how I'm eating or am I just weird? Seems like if I was eating too fast, taking too big bites or not chewing well enough that the food itself would come back up, not just the liquid (slime). Also, does any else have a problem with fruit? I've had strawberries today and I LOVE them but they don't make the band happy and that is disturbing to me. just doesn't sit right or something....
  8. Booooooo... I wanted this to be SO MUCH MORE 'TMI'... Oh well... Maybe next time...
  9. OK so today overall was a bad day. It started out well, went to the gym 1 hour cardio I felt really good after. I has a poached egg and 1/4 of o piece of wholemeal bread toast. Lunch about 1/2 a cup of chicken salad (with a teaspoon of low fat mayo and 1 of low fat greek yoghurt) After noon I had 1 chocolate chip cookie, and 12 mini carale slices,i know i know, i shouldn't have done that, still in losing stage. Was out with the childre all afternoon came home starving. Had a few flakes of smoked salmon and a few spoonfulls of mashed potatoes, way to quickly and it all came back up again and I was sick, a horrible feeling of chest oppression and nausea, not nice at all. It might be TMI but just so others don't make my same mistake, always have healthy snacks that you can tolerate when you're out and about so as to 1) not eat fattening junk 2) not arrive home starving and eat too quickly! I won't be doing that again for sure!

    Breasts:

A breast reduction has the same scar lines as a lift, and my scars are pretty major BUT I had a lot of tissue removed (like a chunk the size of a pound of butter off each...TMI?). There was a girl in the recovery house in CR with me who was just moving down a size in implants so her surgery was just like a lift, and her incision lines were almost gone after two weeks. It depends on how you scar.

    13 hours to GO

I was sleeved 12 days ago and I also had my gallbladder removed at the same time. The biggest problem I've faced so far is from the gallbladder removal (tmi- sudden diarrhea) and not the vsg. But overall, things are great. I hope you heal quickly.

    The Unexpected!!!

Its hard to prepare anyone for all the emotional ups and downs. Like before there are days where you are fine with food and your body and days where things are all haywire. Enjoy the time after surgery where you actually have restriction. We all know it takes several fills to get there but no one can prepare you for coming down from the high and not being at the restriction you want, having head hunger galore and physical hunger. TMI ALERT. One thing I was not expecting was how different everyday restroom issues are. In the beginning, liquid in meant liquid out and sometimes you could bend down and opps it leaked. Now three months out, that problem has resolved, but now when I go to go its 60% air. The noises your stomach will make in any given day also cracks me up.
  13. I've been stuck more times that I would like. It's all been my fault. I'm working on it though. Sometimes the papaya enzymes work, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the jumping (or doing the chicken dance) works, sometimes it doesn't. I've also tried the pineapple juice...just a warning though, it tastes worse coming back up!! Almost nothing worse than (tmi warning!!) pineapple juice vomit. Blech. Most of my issues are either first bite syndrome or when I don't chew/take a small enough bite. And I've learned that if I'm stuck due to not chewing or taking a large bite, I can GUARANTEE that I will continue to be stuck the rest of the day if I try to eat food...I find that I MUST go to liquids the rest of the day. If i dont pay attention to this, everything i try the rest of the day will come back up. Dealt with this yesterday. If I get stuck from the first or second bite, then once it goes down or comes back up, I'm ok to eat like I'm supposed to for the rest of the day. It's almost like my band gives me a warning to really slow down. I'm one of the weird ones that never slime before it comes back up...once I get stuck, I can cough it out and get the slime only then. Usually it comes (the mucus) out my nose, again tmi, so I make sure to take napkins/baby wipes with me at all times. And for me I've only pb'd over the sink. Too scared because of the auto flush feature to try the toilet. Last week I got stuck at church and didn't want everyone to see me at the sink, so I made sure to take an empty cup into the restroom stall with me and pb'd into that and then flushed the gunk. Being stuck is no fun. But for most of us, its part of the learning curve of being banded. What everyone else has said about how it feels is right. It's painful. Rock in your chest. 14. I'm curious if there is anyone in the Boise area looking for something similar. It's been hard explaining why WLS! It's made me have to get creative on how to meet my main squeeze. I'm 36 yrs old. Single mother of a 4 yr old. Love to go hiking, walking, biking, yard sales, fishing, avid camper, cook, cake artist, lover of life. I like to sing awful in my car, love naptimes, i like to fix things. Love animals. Huge crushes on Bald men. TMI. Ha! Hope to hear from you!

    Movement anyone???

I also had surgery on the 17th, and had my first bowel movement on the 19th. It's odd though - very watery and kind of a dark green color (TMI sorry) Last year I had open surgery to have my ovaries removed and I think it was almost a week before I could go. Definitely talk to your doctor if you're concerned though, maybe he can give you some suggestions or medication.

    Ladies!

I would definitely mention this to your primary care/gynecologist. Could be unrelated to the surgery. TMI.....Im actually enjoying it again as Mr. can find his way down there much easier with less fat rolls!
  17. Hello Sleeved To Be's and Sleevers! lol I can't thank you all enough for all the positive feedback an encouragement given my way these last couple of days. I thought I wasn't going to make it! lol The first 3 days was so damn uncomfortable and I felt so sick. You all helped me push thru it and today the gas is better, I'm taken in more liquids, I FINALLY used the bathroom (#2), TMI but it has to be said, it is such a relief!!! lol How are you all doing today?

    Lady Business.

Okay, so I'm 7 weeks out, and this is super TMI. About three weeks ago, I started my period; it lasted about three days, which was normal for me. About two days after it was over, it started again, heavier. It lasted about three days, again. Two days after that, it started again, and I'm shocked that I have this much blood in my body. Anyone else going through this?
  19. So I’m struggling with the whole thought of loose skin. I’ve lost 60 pounds already. I’m 5’4. The gastric sleeve was a medical necessity not by choice I have an autoimmune disease. I was 280 now I’m 220 about 8 weeks post op. I was always comfortable in my skin. Now idk. I keep losing and I know that I won’t be able to afford plastics. TMI but I also have big boobs. Always have since high school when I was a skinny. Now I worry I’m just going to be a walking flab. Im getting insecure which is not like me at all. The struggle is real.

I Kno This Might Be Sick But

During the liquid phase, other than the bit of diarhea I had in the hospital (very little and yes, tmi) I did not have another BM for several days and that was mostly liquid. I am seven weeks out and on regular food now and still only go either every other day or every third day. I read in my post surgery guide that this is not uncommon.

    Pureed diet

I am having the same issue, I tried refried beans and it got stuck (TMI I puked it later)
  22. Hello! I am 4 months post-op. My stools are mushy and frequently after my meals. Do I need more fiber to harden them a little and give them shape? How do I poop less?
  23. Wow it's been a while! In the past Year leading up to my 5th bandaversary I feel like my life has went in to the dumps. I have to admit I've gained weight and that is greatly effecting me. Let me go back to Oct 2012 I decided I was going to get merina (this evil device) and that's when it all started. Yes my life changed and by that I mean my weight my mood my everything. I became a coach potato depressed person. I felt like I was going to bleed to death the first 6 months (sorry TMI). Month 7-8 gained another 20 lbs and then another few So I finally had the thing removed because well I started producing large cysts like grapefruits and well hence my frustration. I've been trying to get it together but well apparently it's not working. I did get a fill actually 2 since... and a slight unfill. Jan 1 I decided I should join the gym and stop being a coach potato and I've been doing pretty good with that but I haven't really lost much maybe 3.3 lbs and gained back 1.8 UGH. I know I need to learn to work this band again and not eat around it but wow it's a challenge I've become dependent on soup and hot liquid to losen this bad boy up so I can eat =( and well I need to stop it. Last 5 days I've only had hot liquid in AM (coffee) and I've actually been eating breakfast 1 egg and 2 slices of turkey bacon. I need help I need Idea's and support (a buddy... email, text and phone would be awesome and LBT) to get back to losing and working this band. let the suggestions and support unleash on a side note wow LBT has really changed.
  24. No revision for me... this sleeve is my first WLS! Today, Day 2, was a little rougher than yesterday but not too bad at all. I had crazy nausea & dry heaves, only to find out it was due to my IV not working properly. Once they changed the site & after a little rest I was good to go! I'm peeing normal (yay for me, but maybe TMI for some!) and just had a shower & put my own pjs on... feels much better! Drinking the blue apple juice wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it just seemed like a lot of liquid all at once for the first time... but no leaks, so it was all worth it. I'm now sipping normal apple juice & tea. It's a different feeling to get used to, but I'm hoping that'll change quick. The staff have been amazing. I've never had a medical team that explained their processes so much or checked in on me so often. I'm glad to have read so many positive reports on Dr Aceves, as this experience has been nothing short of positive so far. Glad to be on the other side, hope it just gets easier from here!

    Ideas for step 2 diet

I agree with the above statements listen to your doctor and trust me although your food choices changes you still can not eat a lot, 1 cup of applesauce lasted me a week. your stomach is so small and I agree make sure you watch what you eat and remember to chew t least 30 times i learned the hard way as well one day i chewed my chicken so well I had no problems , today I ate the same chicken and didnt chew a piece well enough and I experience pain, leading me to puke sorry TMI but once that happened I felt better , it was just a reminder to chew chew and chew. good luck.
