    All of my December sleevers...

I just broke a 3 week stall this morning I was up and down between 223-227 yes a 4 lbs up and down moment but for the last 3 Mondays in a row i weighed in at 224 then 223.8 then this past Monday at 225.6 smh it depressed the heck out of my so i lowered my carbs and increased my water and switched from chicken back to fish and as of today I am 222.2 yes! The stall is officially broken and the scale is moving again, I know we shouldn't weigh in every day but heck i was loosing it over here and i saw it go as high as 227 and then i lost it lol its all good though i made changes, However my calorie intake is very poor and could hurt me in the long run I will be more active as of this Monday the 11th so I will increase it back up to 600 to 800 and as much as I HATE protein shakes i will be adding those back in because my protein intake is very low its usually 42 a day the shake will brink it up another 25 so i will force it in me as much as i hate it it will also bring my calories to 616 a day because right now its only 412 and that's not good at all, However on most days all I do is lay in bed and do nothing so since I will be going back to a very active job as of this Monday I will need the increase in calories since my job burns so many calories with all the walking I do. I will also start exercising 3-4 days a week so the low calorie intak may only harm me instead of help me. I am happy for now though, This whole eating right thing is new to me i'm learning my body as I go through this lifestyle change and I pray that when I reach my goal i maintain it, I dont ever want to go through this again!
  2. Yes, it's normal. Everyone is different, and it varies time and frequency. I'm in a 3 week stall now. The longest one so far. But don't stress, and stay with the program. You know the drill, get your protein, drink your water and exercise. The weight will come off.

    Week #2

I am exactly 2 weeks post op today. I am feeling great! My incisions are so small and look really good. I got to start on full liquids on Sunday and have over a week left on this stage and I'm already sick of full liquids already. I typically have 1 protein shake each day than try to get at least 40 more oz. of water in. I should try to up that some. It isn't difficult for me to drink it's just A LOT of fluids. I have finally started to get some restriction on creamy soups. I am finding that I am eating too fast. I have started stopping and taking a break and I find after a couple of minutes that I am full and don't want the rest. Slowing down when I'm eating is going to be a huge adjustment for me! As far as weight loss goes, it has really slowed down for me. Last week I was at 171 and this morning I was at 167.4. So, that's a 3.6 lb loss for the week. The last 4 days I haven't lost anything. I know it will happen, I am just being my usual impatient self. I have heard of the 3 week stall, but I think I hit a 10 day stall. Lol. Honestly, I am going to have to be realistic and look at my journey on a monthly basis and to be honest, I would be pretty happy with an 11 lb loss for the month, so I shouldn't complain about a 4 day stall.

    Losing Slow At Very Beginning?

Sleeved on 11/26 and down 25lbs. I had a 3 week stall at only 20lbs lost. I keep telling myself at least I'm losing but sometimes it's difficult not to get frustrated and disappointed. I work out 5-6 days a week and get more than enough Water so maybe I should adjust my calorie intake or up my Protein. For now I'm just continuing on my journey and hoping the numbers on the scale keep getting smaller no matter how long it takes!
  5. I have hit this durn 3 week stall!!!!! How long does this last? I was up 2 pounds on the scale this morning!

No wieght loss in 3 days

It's frustrating when you see such a dramatic drop right after surgery and then it stops. It's completely normal. I lost 15 lbs the first 2 weeks, then had a 3 week stall. I'm 7 weeks out now, and I lose about 2 1/2-3 1/2 lbs per week pretty consistently, but I don't see weight loss every day. Sometimes it's 4 or 5 days in between. Have patience, and if you can, only weigh in once a week (hard, I know). Slow and steady wins the race. Besides, when have we horizontally challenged ever been able to lose 27 lbs in 7 weeks? Be grateful for these small victories. :-)

    i'm sleeved

Trust me, it is. I also was sent home off my diabetes meds, which is the reason I did the surgery in the first place honestly. The gain is from all the gas they put in you and the swelling; you will drop. I lost 21 lbs. in 21 days ...then stalled. Be prepared for the "3 week stall", I'm sure I've broke it but haven't weighed yet. Try to only weight once a week so you don't go nuts; I might weigh once a month. Good luck and hope you recover quickly.

    Calorie Concern

You're right on track for the 3 week stall. My longest stall was at 3 weeks out and lasted 20 days. Just keep doing you and follow your plan. Your body is just readjusting. I hit a stall every 2-3 weeks. I'm a classic stair-step loser. I've stair stepped my way down 211 pounds so far DO NOT worry and do not do anything crazy. Just get your Water and Protein in and keep doing you. YOU GOT THIS. It's a mental mind **** so hold on tight.

    Feel like two time loser

You are probably just in the 3 week stall - look it up here - most everyone has a period of time around 3 weeks after surgery where their weight just stands till even if they are doing the right thing. From what I've read it can be moreso for someone who goes from band to sleeve. Keep doing what you are supposed to and the weight will start to come off again!

the dreaded 3 week stall Hit me too. I didn't change a thing and the scale started moving down after 6 days

    The dreaded 3 week stall

At my 3 week stall I found that even though the scale wasnt moving, I was still losing inches. Like Decembersleever said, it must be our bodies just catching up. I broke thru mine by upping my calories a bit with some good fats like sliced avocado or peanut butter. I broke thru but it was only a couple of pounds. I tend to lose about 2 to 3 pounds every week and a half. Its slow but as long as the scale doesnt go UP, Im all good with it. Hang in there beautiful.

    The dreaded 3 week stall

I'm four weeks out also and hit the 3 week stall last week. I have read enough info on this forum to know that stalls are temporary. AND IRRITATING! You are doing everything right - hang in there.... I didn't change anything at all and the scale finally started moving down again. I think our body needs to play catch up sometimes. Have faith and keep going forward - this a journey not a race (that's what someone told me!)
  14. Hey all. I am 4 weeks post op. I have been at a stall since week 3. I am 5'5"and now weigh 219lbs. I am down only 15 lbs in 4weeks. My protein intake is at about 54 gms per day. My caloric intake is at about 400-700 cals per day. My fluid intake is about 48-52 oz per day. I need some encouragement. click on "like" to give me a boost, or post something positive. Thanks to this forum for always being supportive! You all rock!

    Valentine's Day Challenge 2013

Well, I am in a 3 + week stall, so not sure if I'm going to lose the 12 lbs I thought I would when I first started this post. I thought I'd get to 173 by Valentine's Day from 185. BUT, so far only 2 of those lbs came off!! GOTTA LOVE stalls LOL!! Keep on keeping on for everyone though, cause either way, WE are amazing!!

    All of my December sleevers...

Since 3 week stall broke about 5 days ago, I'm down 8. I'm happy again. But hunger is always there between meals now. It's hard but I need to keep pushing water in and avoid temptation to snack. I eat three meals and two protein shakes. Meals are high protein low carb. My carbs are under 20g now. Under 50g / day when I was stalled so I think I need really low carbs. Regarding alcohol, my docs/nut says to avoid it the first year. Im assuming there are a couple of reasons for that: 1) alcohol is liquid carbs/calories and 2) people tend to replace one addiction with another (i.e. food with alcohol). I've seen some YouTube sleeve blog videos where they stated that they definitely have slowing started drinking a lot more alcohol post sleeve. That being said I don't have an addictive personality and if I want to have a glass of wine or a marguerita on a special occasion, I will.

    Weight loss stopped!

Your "3 week stall" has started early. Congrats Just hang in there. That was my LONGEST stall ever and lasted 20 days. I thought I was going to go nuts. It's totally normal. I stall now a lot too and stair step lose. Hang in there and don't do anything crazy. Stick to your plan, the weight WILL come off. Promise. My normal now is to lose a few pounds, stall, gain a pound or two, stall, lose that gain and lose some more, stall... It's just normal now.

    All of my December sleevers...

I was in a 3 week stall. I lost 4.2 pounds in last two days though. Things I did differently last few days: had a cup of coffe at breakfast after my nut said I could have two cups of caffeinated coffee per day. I noticed significant changes in "liquid output" on the very first day I had coffee. I also cut carbs from 40-50g range to 15-20g range. One of those things or both seems to have shaken me loose after being completely dead in the water for weeks. Or it was just time! My working theory is that I got a bit dehydrated in the 2-3 weeks after surgery and while I was meeting my water requirements in the next 3 weeks, my body was holding on to the water more than it normally would WHILE I was still losing fat. So the scale didn't move. Then either the diuretic effects of a cup of coffee or the diuretic effects of extremely low carbs started shaking lose that excess water I was retaining and output returned finally to pre-surgery levels. Another possibility is that I finally got enough hydration into my system that I stopped retaining much of what I was drinking. If that's the case, you might be able to avoid a stall or end a stall by forcing more water than the 64oz minimum: like 80oz to a gallon. A quick check of the scale tonight says I'm lower than this morning (which almost never happens during the day as I eat and drink) so I expect to see more loss when I weigh in tomorrow. This is all very anecdotal so take it with a a grain of salt, but its just me theorizing at an early stage about what I did, what I observed, and what may be breaking my stall. I in no way believe I suddenly lost 4 pounds of fat after losing nothing for weeks. The fat must have been gone already and last two days were mostly dumping water weight and/or glycogen. So... If you are in a stall, i would ask yourself "am I drinking a lot?" and "am I peeing a lot?" The answer to both should be yes.
  24. Guess I hit the dreaded 3 week stall.....UGH!

  25. I just recently had a 3 week stall. I was sleeved 10/9/12. This was my first major stall, I was starting to get a little nervous but I just had my gallbladder surgery 1/10 and I lost 10lbs in 4 days!!!! I think I broke my stall!! I try not to get to mad..it happens and I know eventually itll come off! So my stall started at 228 and right now I'm 218. Btw I started at 300!!!
